dannyisdude
The side of the window a barricade is on should affect the way the barricade works. First, when zombie hit barricades on the other side of the window, it should take less damage to remove the barricade than when hitting barricades on the same side of the window. This is because when hitting barricades on the same side of the window, the zombies actually have to break through each plank in order to get through, whereas, in order to get through the barricades on the other side, the zombies only have to push the barricade until the nails come out of the wall. Next, when zombies break barricades on the other side of the window, rather than just destroying the planks, the planks should fall on the floor with a high, random amount of damage. This is because the zombies are only pushing the planks out of the wall, not snapping or breaking them completely. This would also create an incentive for players to barricade the outside of their windows rather than the inside. This adds a slight risk/rewards aspect in that zombies can see and hear you farther while barricading outside than while barricade inside. So if you are trying not to attract attention, but also barricade, there is slightly more risk. TheWraithPlayer
I agree, also the ability to use screws for barricading would be very useful, as it would increase durability and give more uses for them (I have yet to find a place for my 46+ boxes of screws in my closet!) Questionable (for me), because Z's can not only push, but also grab and kinda hang on planks. The best solution is to connect both sides of barricades, so in game having at least 3 planks from each side should give a masive hp boost. The best way I can imagine to make a barricade is to make a wooden "shield" and cover it with thin metal - Z's will not be able to grasp planks and punches will be shared between few planks. Left part of the picture: no place to reach a single plank to break. I think cutting fridges and washing machines to metal sheets and combining them with wooden screens will give best and simpliest barricades for windows and doors. But for now we have welding with propane and welding rods..
GOGOblin
Made a couple of pics of what I mean exactly. Planks wrapped in thin metal, pinned with nails.
TheWraithPlayer
huh, interesting idea. I had honestly never thought about it, but If added I'll use it every time! How about the option of adding bars on the outside.
