Y'ello
Is anyone working on updating Farmoid for build 40? Currently right clicking triggers a red counter box in the bottom right corner.
My friends and I can't harvest our stuff and winters coming

Bought the game back when you had to buy another game to get it. Maybe 2011-2012, was only occasionally on the original forums but was on the fringe of the community. Contributed to sites like pz-guides and such, eventually taking a break until I saw a tweet asking for people to contribute to the wiki. Joined the new forums at the end of 2013, contributed to the wiki eventually taking it over. When Multiplayer came out I offered support to people who needed it, writing guides until eventually I was made a moderator. Continued contributing before being made an Administrator, contributing to their site and writing their bug tracker. Moved to Newcastle and became a dev, a year-year and a half ago now.
I know it's a little late but congratulations with the awesome promotion

Hello, my name is not Aricane, but nickname is. I joined
23th july 2013(edit: actually a weeks earlier. 23th was the date we were migrated to this site :D) because I found bug first time I opened the game. From then on I just rubbed myself into this lovable game and did a whole lot of stuff with it .I want to thank someone because this is actually my first post in several years, and I'm surprised not to find any cobwebs in my profile page. Who's been keeping it clean and tidy for my return?

I'm living in NSW, Australia at the moment so I'm running on Australian Eastern Time. 8:45 PM here at the moment.
Ahh okay, Central European Time here... thanks

It does look brilliant. However I think this kills it for me. I really need to start finding something else to do with my spare time.
Edit: to clarify I just used weeks on making a server list and now that time is spent for nothing. That won't happen again.

Ahh, that goes for my tutorials too. They're getting a bit dusted.
What's your timezone Vanek? I you don't mind me asking

Cool. I'll bet you'll adapt quickly.

Hey. What you need to do is start off low and not too ambitious. Your idea is really great and I would love to help you out. The tooth brushing is a good place to start. Aside from basic learning basic LUA syntax, you need to know how mod data is stored, how events are triggered and how to add context options (right click menu options).
When holding a toothbrush in your primary hand and maybe paste in your left you could add a context option "Brush teeth" which increases the characters hygiene level.
A template could look like this.
function brushTeeth(_player) --1. check player inventory for tooth brush and paste. --2. make him hold them --3. check if player is holding tooth brush and tooth paste -- save hygiene _player:getModData().hygiene = _player:getModData().hygiene + 1end Events.OnFillWorldObjectContextMenu.Add(brushTeeth)
Last but not least remember to submit your mod to pz-mods.net -

I usually rename a bag, making the first letter a single space. That way it will always stay in top, that's at least a make shift label

I don't mean quick Join a server . It is just an easier way of finding servers. Then you can bookmark the one you like and join when you want.
Ah, I'm definitely in favor of making finding desired servers easier to find
-
I don't think PZ is the kind of game that calls for a server scan. Usually that is most applicable on games with a fast-in fast-out kind of MP - somethink like FPS with short 10-30 minute rounds
I think people should pick out a server that fits their need and stick with it. At least that is would be best considering the RP elements of leveling and the concepts of building, farming. When you join a server you attempt to build up your character. It takes days but it is a important part of the gameplay.
Right now however it does seem like people just visit a server. If they ever build establish a safehouse and get back - the place they build is gone/ripped off or there's no loot any more.
I'm more in favor of giving people an incentative to stick with one server rather than having them online for an hour or so and never see them again.

I would suggest that you find the guide on how to turn your desura key into a steam key. That's alot easier. Let me find the guide. You do have desurakey, right?uhmm.. I'm "kinda" new (more like stupid); where can i download the latest build? can anyone help me? BTW i have an existing build 25 on my pc, non-steam though.
Steam has the newest pz version available for you, so just follow the guide below
Found this link: http://projectzomboid.com/blog/2013/09/steam-keys-available-to-all-customers/
uhhhhh... problem is I just downloaded it on the internet (recommended by a friend, forgot the site sorry :T). What I remember is, it was a torrent file. But anyways, is/are there such way/s to downloaded it w/o buying the game? (I know it sounds stupid, I'm just checking ) No offence to the developer. (Stay strong, Indie Stone Devs!!)
-really want the latest build.. if there's really no other way, then.. T_T
The game is not free. You having neither a Desura nor Steam version means you have no method to update the game.
We can't and won't give you instructions to download the latest build without paying for it. The internet is a huge place and you will find a better place to ask for a free download of an essentially DRM free game than the developer's own forum.
We're hoping people who like the game will consider a purchase at some point.
I feel an urge to applaud this comment. World class self-restraining.
On a site note: Maybe we could get some valuable insight from this prime specimen. Where in the process did the "MUST..HAVE..ENTERTAIN" outmaneuver common sense.

Maybe you don't realize that the strong-staying Indie Stone developers are economically depending on people to actually pay for the work they are spending most of their day on. You're absolutely right it does sound stupid.
I have another similar question. Can you send me $100 via paypal. I kind of don't have much money on me right now, and my sense of reality is currently orbiting around the planet, so.. I know it might sound stupid, but anyway .. can you give me $100?

I never really liked the "traditional" cognitive psych. To much of a computer analogy for me. I have a more Gibson (ecological psychology) like kind of view on things.
Decartés ideas of dualism kind of lingers in the traditional cognitive psychology. I think dualism as a perspective on human mechanisms is very counterproductive, because it somehow facilitates the idea that people can sort of "choose who they want to be", as they do when they selectively pick out interests, product brands and hobbys that supports the kind of identity they want to have. I think this is one of the biggests reasons of mental illness in the western world today.
People cannot not choose who they want to be. In my eyes being what we are, nomatter what that is, is our duty.
The ecological perspective to me becomes obvious when the society tries to rehabilitate drug addicts or criminals without treating the enviroment around the individual on equal terms as the individual himself self. Too often people falls back in to an environment that the initially helped people start bad behavorial pattern.
Also my perspectives are very much influenced by social constructivism.

Actually there was a mod for the spraypaint part of your suggestion. Might be out of date. There's also a building mod, but that doesn't entirely cover your stripping idea.

Something I'm missing much is street signs and house numbering. Road signs make orientation easier and house numbering makes MP easier to organize.
Right now a few buildings have popular names The curch, Spiffos, Dixies... etc. but ordinary houses are impractical to describe in a tight situation, like being overrun by zombies:
"RUN! I'll meet you at the brick two story house near the curch, the one with flowers and a door facing no...." aaand you're dinner
edit: I guess this is a suggestion for the map editor?

Yeah. But I discovered that I was just inescapably dumb, left without a single proper excuse
Try posting your issue in PZ support. I'm sure people are willing to help you thereI'll just shut up now
Haha okay what was it then?
I thought I had set up a filter, so I was looking in the wrong folder. I think I was looking for Project zomboid, TIS or something, but the mail looked all personal from Kirrus <3

Your post and signature confuses me. You're very right though and it's been discussed a lot on the forums. However I didn't make the mod for realism. I just thought that the pistol had very little value, because it sort of just produced more a lot more zombies than it dealt with and that is rarely something you need.
(Also: you sorta necroed this thread)
