  1. It would be great flavor to be able to light up my house with Christmas lights during winter. You know, give me a goal to strive for... something to stave off boredom which is my #1 Winter killer.
  2. Plates could make a great throwing weapon/distraction. You ever hear a plate shatter? Loud AF.
  3. I would really like to see this coupled with expiration of medicine (as it does IRL). Potentially some medicines could become near-fatal or ineffective after expiration. EDIT: Also, I would love to see diabetes and insulin added. Insulin can be fatal if injected into the bloodstream, IRL. Also, for those without diabetes, it can cause a myriad of symptoms already present w/in PZ. It would make for a great evil doctor type in MP.
  4. Sorry to jump in so late, but I haven't been on the forums much lately.... I really like the direction you were taking with the helicopter. If I could make a few small suggestions... The rotor bolt and supports are too tall and the rotary blades are a touch too long. Looking through things you've made is really impressive. And, I am enamored with the spiffos. I also really like the movie theatre props, those would look awesome in the game. It would be cool to see a movie poster for each of your (now collectible) Spiffos.
  5. I really like the train and metro concepts, makes me almost want to build a map solely within a subway system.
  6. New thing: The sign in front of the Sunstar Hotel says "Free WiFi" and based on my research and personal experience WiFi wouldn't have been available in the base starting year of 1993.
  7. Off subject, but I just noticed that he has a laundry basket out there to collect water. That won't do anything, not with all those holes. (It's bright green, just above the foremost red bucket. Bottom-left.) does no one ever read the entire posts by people. we talked about this on page 2 of this discussion. i even said that 1 comment above yours... My bad.

  9. If that still doesn't work follow these steps. 1: Go to C:\Users\"your user name here"\Zomboid\Multiplayer\servertest 2: Delete everything 3: Go to C:\Users\"your user name here"\Zomboid\server 4: Delete everything 5: Run PZServerSettings.exe 6: Choose your settings 7: Click 'Save' 8: Run ProjectZomboidServer.bat 9: Run Project Zomboid
  10. Are your server settings not working? If you've set your PZServerSettings.exe the effects should take place as soon as you start your server (with ProjectZomboidServer.bat) If you set it after starting your .bat, you'll need to close your .bat and start it again.
  11. I totally misread 'slip' as 'sip' and I was really confused.
  12. We're not talking about translation here. If the game were set in Saudi Arabia or Japan and was aimed at a global market, as you so keenly pointed out, I would certainly expect a translation to English. But, I would also expect the game to make use of vocabular immersion by using local idioms and vernacular. Besides, if you were a Brit vacationing in Kentucky, you would not find remoulade no matter how British you were. You would also find a surplus of ketchup. And, pickles would be in jars. I would also like to point out that I backed you up on the "hot cuppa" issue. And, you have responded with aggressive posts that have detracted from the initial point of this thread forcing me to explain a point ad nauseum for your personal benefit, because you can't wrap your mind around actually using the language of a locale in a game that is set in said locale. All that aside there are things in the game that could not be found in the suburbs of Louisville, KY in the mid-90's. And, that is immersion breaking.
  13. But, that brings us back to the initial issue of immersion breaking vocabulary. IF you want to roleplay an American living in KY, the vocabulary you use should be American vernacular. IF this game were set in Great Britain, I would feel more immersed if the vocabulary used was UK vernacular. Your argument is invalid because almost all developers at least attempt vocabular immersion when staging games in other locales.
  14. I would do it for them for free. I just need to know how.
  15. "Hey you!" Son of a... I pushed 'Q'
  16. Personally, I categorize "griefers" into three groups: 1: Bandits - The lowest of the low. They are the guys who KOS anywhere, anytime. They have no real motive besides causing chaos. And, are typically solo, presumably unable to trust others. They're also likely to burn your entire base down with all the contents inside. 2: Burglars - These guys will find the way into your base, if there is a weak spot, and will proceed to take anything of value from you. Typically afraid of conflict or retaliation, they'll do this most likely while you're offline. Often they are solo runners. Sometimes they are underlings of a larger group. Rarely, they may band together to perform more elaborate heists. 3: Raiders - These guys are a well organized cadre of military focused characters. Through their teamwork and determination this group has made it to the top, or somewhere close, and they intend to keep it that way. They will hit bases for the challenge, the resources, and to crush up and coming competition. They don't care if you are at home to defend your base, they will seige your base. If your forces are smaller, less well equipped, or less organized they will take everything you have. They will typically KOS in the areas around their base, but for the most part don't KOS while travelling. Due to their large group size they are able to travel undisturbed. Now, that being said, I would say that bandits are my least favorite to encounter. Burglars are fun to catch, and usually give a good chase. And, raiders, who doesn't want to defend against a seige?
  17. I didn't see this, but maybe have some buildings already burnt out from rioting.
  18. I always thought that was just a dialectal spelling of "hot cup of..." as an overarching term preventing the need for specificity. (ex. Hot Cup of Coffee, Hot Cup of Tea, etc.) Either way, that does sound US Midwest. "I'll take a large cuppa coffee, please." (I worked at a coffee shop until last week.) EDIT: Decided to actually make another thread concerning that.
  19. A spade is different from a shovel though (at least here in germany). Spades usually have flat tips on their blades, whereas shovels have a more pointy blade. It's good to know there is a difference between a shovel and a spade. However, if your are using the item to strip away topsoil, presumably breaking it up in the process, wouldn't a shovel be more appropriate? I would still like to argue for jarred pickles as jars are extremely rare, moreso than vinegar, making preservation of fresh food a near impossibility. Also, I would like to add mayonaisse to the list of things that should provide jars due to the fact that squeeze-bottle mayonaisse is a relatively recent trend. Same, I had never heard of it before this game. Also, yoghurt is a strange spelling to me.
  20. Now, I understand these are tiny issues, but they have bugged me for a long time. I live in the US and there are a few issues with the vocabulary and items that detract from the "I'm an American living in the Southern Midwest" vibe. First, Americans call a "spade" a "shovel." I understand they are two words for the same thing, but it is true. EDIT: It was illustrated in this thread that a spade and shovel are two different things, but the in-game art is in fact a shovel. Second, few Americans have any idea what remoulade is. It would be more realistic as tartar sauce. While a form of remoulade, it is significantly more common in the US. Third, almost every American household has ketchup and the rarity of this item is disproportionate, especially when compared to remoulade. Fourth, I've admittedly never left the country, but here in the US pickles are almost exclusively sold in jars. And, as such, it is my opinion that they should leave an empty jar behind. I appreciate everything the devs are doing, I really like the direction this game has been going, and I understand there is a lot on their plates. Thanks for taking the time to read my short rant, I'll update with anything else I happen to find. EDIT: Also, there should also be sounds from cooking popcorn. Potentially, cooking in general creates smells that attract zombies. EDIT (again): Also, in the US a 'vest' is called either a 'tank top' or and 'A-shirt' (less common).
