  1. no no see that's how you'd actually treat a ten year old, not how you'd explain the process to a ten year old.
  2. As the title states, I'm looking for a clear, concise, step by step guide on exactly what one needs to do to apply custom settings to a multiplayer server. I've been searching for a while, and I'm actually pretty sure I've already read the answers to my questions, but misunderstood them. I've figured out how to host a server successfully that my friends can join, and I've selected the settings I want from PZServerSettings.exe and saved them to the servertest_SandboxVars.Lua and this is where i'm stuck. What is the next step? do I need to hard reset and delete the entire server and have it make a new one? soft reset? (Which I don't exactly know how to do...yet) do I need to go into the console as admin and do something? Sorry if i'm asking something that's already been explained a million times, I've just spent at least two hours learning how to get a server up and ready and I just want to play with my friends. I'm so done tinkering with this v.v So if I could just get a quick answer that'd be great.
  3. Currently this is the only feature I don't like in the game. I'm actually pretty okay with the new horde mechanics and how difficult things are. It's really quite a rush in the beginning. But having zombie fly paper walls is annoying.
  4. for several weeks I've had my character living upstairs in a rural house with the staircase destroyed. All has been quiet and pleasant so I started constructing a large log wall incorperating the neighboring house into a small little fortress. Since building the wall, I've noticed that zombies are attracted to it like bugs to a zap light. I knew i was not making more noise than usual, knew I wasn't leaving windows open or giving other cue's to my location. Eventually I discovered that zombies just latch onto breakable objects and destroy them for no reason. Can we change this in the future? at least as a sandbox option? Zombies, especially traditional proper zombies like what zomboid seems to seek to replicate shouldn't do anything without cause except amble around. I'm okay with zombies banging down the walls if I made a mistake, ran my generator too loud, or was seen entering the fort....but 30 zombies just picking a random wall to bang on simply because it can be destroyed? why?
  5. So, small update. I was able to go into the files and make it spawn me and my friends in west point, but I still don't know what caused the menu selector to dissappear.
  6. I deleted my original multiplayer server files so I could start anew with friends. We planned to start in west point, but for some reason we're given no options to choose the city and it spawned us randomly. Every time I search this topic I get miles of outdated information. Halp?
