  1. Animals are planning to be implemented, so feral dogs would be an AWESOME addition.
  2. Pretty awesome idea, but they should be more effective at night. (Due to lights) And barely effective during the day, as noise is the only zombie stimulus if they can't see the fireworks.
  3. I wasn't in support of the suggestion but I found this comment downright rude. The creator of the thread was not being distasteful or even silly, yet you felt the need to respond like this? I bet you respond to suggestions like this a lot.
  4. Bowls and buckets should fill with water when it rains, just not half as much as rain collectors. We're talking common items like bowls giving you one drink?
  5. When they're in numbers like that, it's definitely more fun. However, the only time I died by playing seriously was when I had a splint on my leg and I slept at a random house on my way back from a loot run, went outside at about four o clock in the morning to go back to the base and didn't see them coming.
  6. Ok, this is a really awesome idea. But what happens if somebody lives a really long time? I think there should definitely be a system to remove/replace these "fragments" the longer you live. Death paragraph shouldn't be too long at all.
  7. I think the developers have done a grand job of balancing moods and exertion.
  8. Have to agree with you, there. Original Dawn of the dead has to be my favorite, night of the living dead is a close second.
  9. Destroying the brain kill zombies, decapitation just makes the body dead(er), as long as the brain is intact, the head itself would still be 'alive' until somebody started playing baseball with it. I'm going to suggest that this is not the case in traditional Romero/Brooks lore (as used by TIS). Certainly in 'dirty' lore, such as that of The Walking Dead, a decapitation itself does not kill a zombie, and without researching it further, I would assume it is primarily the destruction of the frontal lobe which 'puts down' a Walker (based on they type of attacks considered effective in the TV series). Traditional lore dictated that the brain stem could also be damaged or destroyed to be certain the zombie wasn't getting back up again (as opposed to the frontal lobe). This was usually achieved by a downward angle pierce through the eye socket, or an upward stab from the base of the skull or below the chin. More specifically, modern research in fatal gunshots and penetrations to the head have shown that anything penetrating the spinal column above the third thoracic vertebrae will result in instant death (and many have speculated this would convert to the destruction of a zombie). That's well below the 'end' of the brain stem, which is up around the third or fourth cervical vertebrae. That't quite a long way down from the head that penetration of the spinal column can be instantly fatal, I'd say with reasonable certainty that decapitation would indeed lay a zombie to rest. The third thoracic vertebrae is approximately in line with the bottom of a collarbone - 4 to 6 vertebrae lower that what would be considered a clean decapitation! That's my over-simplified technical opinion on why decapitation would be one of several injuries fatal to a Romero/Brooks zombie, anyway. Day of the dead (1985) shows that Romero lore lets a zombie carry on being undead after being decapitated. (And even having it's skull removed, as long as the brain is still intact.)
  10. That's cool and all, but the devs aren't just building a barebones vanilla game here like minecraft. I'm sure this could easily be added without upsetting too many people.
  11. Such an -awesome- idea. And yes, a pet zombie head!
  12. I like the idea of having some clocks which are dead and some which aren't.
  13. Pretty simple suggestion, actually. Just noticed that despite all the limping and blue/green skin tones, at this point in time, the undead don't look all that dead. Just thought I'd point this out, as the original zombie sprites were all decrepit and gross. It'd probably be an idea to do the same to these guys. Also had the idea of a fly sound effect when you're in close proximity to a large number of zombies/corpses. A bit like when you hear the crackling from the fire from up close. Only since the scariest bit I've always found about zombies is that they're all gross and rotting, which is why the 28 days later style zombie never really freaked me out. Feedback? I think the flies sound effect is pretty simple/boss to be honest. -J
  14. You have obviously never walked into 2x1 room only to get bit You never expect to find three zombies hiding in the cupboard of a practically abandoned house until you do. xD
  15. That's a bit of a silly thing to say IMO. I'm neither supporting nor criticising the idea, but something as trivial as a grapple on the end of a rope does not have the potential to "absolutely destroy the spirit of the game", and I don't see how sheet ropes make the idea any less relevent, as they can only be placed from a floor to the ground level.
  16. I'm routing for the undead to go a little further afield. EDIT: Has anybody considered the noise that might be created once vehicles are implemented? Nuthin' like the roar of an engine to get the walkers walking.
  17. Nah Houski, traditional zombie lore dictates that zombies search for and eat anything big enough to represent a meal. They might go for a bird/rat etc (but I doubt it), but they would always go for any large animal. I.e a dog, horse etc. They ain't trying to spread infection because they ain't clever enough to do that, otherwise they'd just take a single bite out of you and be done with it. Zombies generally kill to eat, even though they can't digest their prey.
  18. The idea of seeing zombies feasting on corpses in the streets, smashing windows a little more and generally "searching" seems like a grand idea to me.
  19. Hiding zombies would be awesome. (A little like TWD lurkers) You wouldn't have to deviate from traditional zombie lore at all, since zombies do hide all the time in the movies.
  20. I always use the "proper zombies" option, which gives the zombies a normal memory. However, I find that I'm never able to keep the undead after me, I have to make a concerted effort to actually get them to follow me. One of the most awesome things about zombie lore is their unrelenting nature, in fiction like TWD you get massive zombie hordes which'll break through brick and wood for days without straying to get a piece of you- usually in huge numbers. If you cba to read the above, here's a summary: I got a massive horde to follow me up to a house, and lost them simply by opening the door, walking in and closing it. Seriously, I waited a couple of minutes for them to break in, took a peek outside and they'd all gone. :/ I don't wanna be a complaining poop head, but I feel this is a problem which should be addressed. - J EDIT: Just viewed another post, where somebody wanted to see zombies doing a little more instead of just waiting around. Well, here's an idea, instead of having them waiting in the streets for "something to happen", how about zombies do a little more searching? Instead of waiting around, have a couple of them wander around, a little more alert and hungry than the others. (I, for one; would find this v. scary and a great addition to the atmosphere.)
  21. Awesome, Sword. Don't forget to add your character's name/timeofdeath on the log you'll find in the save folder.
