    When will we have potted planter fixed?

    after certain times of watering it,

    it just became planter

    Next update there will be a patch for it from the potted plant creator. However I am still working on converting HC to build 39.

    Hello Hydromancerx,

    I'm sorry to bothering you but I just want to know if I can use the archery part of your mod, because I want to publish a new mod with only the archery of Hydrocraft (with simplier Recipe, replace arrowhead with sharped stone, a 2nd fletching made with newspaper, and a Recipe to break stone in 2 sharped stone)

    So I ask your permission to use the lua, script, model and texture (I have ask to francogp too, but I don't know who belongs the lua property, so  i'm asking to you for starting) and like I already made this new "Compound bow" I want you to know that you will already have the future permission to take it and add it in Hydrocraft (if you want it, for sure) and maybe create him a Recipe with carbon fiber or things you have add with Hydrocraft ;) take a look:

    You can always make an "add-on" mod for Hydrocraft as long as you give credit and have Hydrocraft as a require mod on steam.

    However if you are asking to take stuff out of Hydrocraft for a stand alone mod, you would have to ask the original maker of the bows, which would be from the Extra Weapons mod by Tommysticks. And yeah francogp for the 3D model.

    Again i highly recommend you just do an "add-on" mod for Hydrocraft. Others have done this and it has turned out well since they use content from the mod and add to it without having to deconstruct anything out of the mod. It also means i can see what you have in mind and possibly add it to Hydrocraft itself.

    Also i made the arc furnace but i cant seem to find what its used for (if there is no use implemented yet, maybe we could use it to melt unusable metal?)

    I have not added the stuff for crafting at the Arc Furnace yet.

    @Hydro, OK, potted plants for SP STILL IS NOT WORKING. I don't get it. We've had 2 or 3 updates since you've incorporated this feature into your mod and every time there is the same issue with it. Let me ask you this - is working for you? If it is then please tell us how you are making it work on your end? Which plants actually make to the (final) ready for harvest stage after watering them several times? I know some recipes require materials only available through potted plants so this issue is preventing players from progressing.

    And yes when 10.2 came out, I planted cabbages in my planter and watered them for 4 days straight when they became dry. It never progressed to the next stage after being watered several times.

    Perhaps I am doing something wrong? They're on the ground. When a potted plant becomes dry, I right-click it and water it. The potted plant appears in my inventory as a small potted plant. I place it back on the ground for the next watering.

    At this point I think you should revert potted plants to way they were if you cannot figure out this issue. Perhaps have a timer like with the animals or increase the water/fertilizer requirements.

    Let me ask other users. Did anyone get this to work with the default HC settings? (eg. not changing any code to make it work).

    Well each update I get an update from Leliana. She made the changes to the potted plants. Different plants have different numbers of watering needed.

    I am really trying to give her a chance with this since she says it works fine on her server.

    I'd like to see a Hydrocraft-lite offshoot mod.

     I like what Hydrocraft does in theory, but I feel it makes the game cluttered with huge numbers and variations of items. Most of which you can't really know the value of without stopping a lot to research, and even then most of the time it's just info on the item's stats and not what you actually do with it. I find myself spending a lot more time sifting through my inventory and storage. A lite version that drops out some of the fluff, like Christmas ornaments and paraphernalia and other filler and focuses more on that more interesting and useful crafting and survival aspects.

    There are a few problems with a "Hydrocraft Lite"...

    1. Hydrocraft is so interconnected that unraveling it all from each other would be impossible. The more you would remove the more chance you would break something.

    2. What would even go into a "lite" version of Hydrocraft? Hydrocraft is made up of many smaller mods as well as new stuff that merges them together. Thus in a way "lite" versions already exist with the individual mods that have been assimilated into Hydrocraft.

    3. Time. The time putting just to make the mod is a lot of hard work from a lot of people. It would be so much more work to even attempt to take it apart. Also probably not fair to the original creators that their hard work would be cut.

    4. It defeats the purpose of Hydrocraft. Half the fun is finding out things yourself. Getting all the parts you need to achieve that crafting recipe you have been working hard to get. Hydrocraft has a steep learning curve but the good part about Hydrocraft is you can dive as deep or a shallow as you want into the mod. You can play PZ as normal and craft nothing in Hydrocraft. Or you can learn how to use all the new stuff to make new things.

    And yes even Christmas ornaments are used in crafting recipes.

  9. Hydrocraft v10.2 has been released!

    Which includes ...

    - Can carve wooden spatula, spoon and fork.

    - Added Hunting tab on Crafting Manu

    - Added 7 shipping crate props

    - New art from purple hat.

    - Fixed making black paint

    - Can recycle some toys

    - Can make pool cue into charcoal

    - Jagermister now called "Herbal Liqour".

    - Fixed male armadillo art

    - Fixed fine wood floor

    - Fixed cat food

    - Fixed orange carpet and yarn

    - Fixed monkey tail pot

    - fixed plastic knives and fork boxes

    - Fixed Bronze spiked mace

    - Fixed make soap shards

    - Fixed black yarn.

    - Added 8 Fishing hooks

    - Added Skull pile, wishbone and bone marrow

    - Added Cougar all the ways to processes it

    - Added Iron Crank

    - Added Plastics Textbook

    - Thanks to everyone who helped!

    Enjoy!

    Note that this was made for build 38. I have done nothing special for build 39 with this so i you are still using the build 38 branch it should still work. Just wanted to get all the stuff i had been working on before the update out before making any build 39 changes.

  10. With build 39 out please report any bugs. I would like to get a patch out soon, but I don't know what needs to be fixed yet. Also I do not think i can fix any lag.

    Bug Report: Recipe "Fill Cheese Vat"

    When you craft it while the Wooden Buckets with Milk are on the ground, they are not removed, and you still get 4 additional Wooden Buckets.

    This is true for any drainable item. Do not put them on the floor when crafting. Always pick up drainable items.

    If you were a real blacksmith in the zombie apocalypse, you should be able to make weapons that are better than your average lumberjack axe. I have a suggestion for an additional melee weapon: see below

    Actually my view is that since you are doing it by hand it is a lesser quality than the industrial factory made axes from before the apocalypse. Which is my most weapons are a lower durability.

  13. 8 hours ago, Arya said:

    I think most players use Axes as primary weapons.

    I personally prefer the Machete.

    8 hours ago, Arya said:

    Now if I was a blacksmith in the zombie apocalypse, I would craft a much thicker sword that doesn't rely on sharpness, but rather on blunt-sharp impact, like an axe does. A heavy sword that smash-slashes through zeds. It does not have to be sharp because it does not have to cut through armor (like a warrior/samurai would have to). Instead there are squishy zeds, who are rather soft, because they are standing in the rain so their flesh gets squishy. And after most humans were turned into zeds, the zeds actually have nothing to eat, so their body becomes even softer. Such a thick sword would have much higher durability.

    What about PVP melee where the characters are wearing armor?

    On a side note it would be cool if we could get zeds to actually equip armor to make them harder to kill.

    What would be the best way to go about editing the Trading Post items for a dedicated server?  Can I just change a file or do I need to make a patch and upload it to Steam?

    You may want the advanced trading post by Nolan.

    recipe Pack Dirt
        {
            HCDirt=4,
        EmptySandbag,
        keep Shovel,
            Result:Dirtbag,
            Time:50,
            Category:Stoneworking,
        }

    recipe Unpack Dirt
        {
            Dirtbag,
            Result:HCDirt,
            Time:50,
            Category:Stoneworking,
        }

    Maybe unpack HCDirt=4 to?

    Dirt Bag is drainable so it gives 4 units per bag. So that is correct.

    Okay, that makes things easier.

    Sooo... I finally made a lead anvil, and because I didn't like the texture that much I made my own texture:

    5af4a54f81150_LeadAnvil.png.507f61e4fe1460ddecbe7f8f5e7cdf2d.png

    What do you think?

    (I also made one for the iron anvil)

    If you like, I can upload them :)

    Purple Hat made me new anvils for next update. The big issue is that the anvil is ued in other items like the trip hammer and steam hammer. So it would be nice if they all matched each other. If you want to help with art please go to the Hydrocraft art thread.

    Is it okay if I write a Hydrocraft Guide for new players?

    Yes please do! It has been while since anyone has made one. Most of them are outdated.

    A quick question:

    Is it possible to change the ingame size of dropped items without changing the image file?

    Like, is there a way to tell the game how large a dropped item should be, independent of image resolution?

    Yes. In the iem files it has this ...

        ResizeWorldIcon     = 1.0,

    1.0 is the default size. 2.0 makes it twice as big and 0.5 makes it half the size. So adjust to however big you want it to be.
