  1. No. Make one and maintain it? Will be a quite tiresome task in the future.

    Mondoid Reposts

Mondoid, August 4, 2013 Hello everyone! First off, we apologize for the delay in getting this build out. The reasoning behind this is while we’ve cleaned up the majority of issues found in closed testing, we really want to get the invisible wall / crafted door related collision bugs sorted out. It’s proving elusive so far, but is affecting many people’s enjoyment of the game, as well as making bad impressions on new players. As soon as this is sorted we’ll do a final quick closed test and release. Hopefully it shouldn’t take too much longer to weed out. Before then, we’ll show you a few new things you have to look forward to in the nearish future! Sheet Ropes Yep, that’s right. They’re back! And much better than before, with new animations and everything. Adding new dimensions to safehouse defenses, no longer be confined to ground floor exits. People who aren’t ‘weak’ can climb up them, as well as down. This will hopefully be in build 11 and we’re very excited to have it back! Meta-Game / NPCs Today we can also finally show you a little something we’ve been working on for the 3.0 update: With the new meta-game system, the NPC scripting and player scripting are one and the same. The main difference being NPCs will be given commands to move to areas and make branching decisions due to their AI, where a player will receive quests and influence the world by their actions. In creating the Kate and Baldspot story, we have also therefore automatically created the NPC scripting and AI decisions for NPC versions of any character the player can control. Likewise, any NPC interaction in the game could also involve the player instead, meaning the scripted meta events or stories can be used for both transparently. What this means is when you start playing in Survival, Bob and Kate will be in that bedroom, having that opening conversation. From that point MetaBob will be making all decisions the player would have open to them, and the result of his story and how the player may meet him will depend on the choices he makes. Will you run up to find a burnt out house, a dead raider in the bedroom, or a dead Kate and a zombie Bob and his new undead friend in the house next door? Or maybe a random group of NPCs arrived and threw their stories completely off track? As an example above, we have just flicked the switch to select the Raider as the player character instead of Bob. This is no guarantee he will ever be a player character in stories in future, though modders would find it easy to expand his story out and insert it into the meta game themselves. This also applies to any future stories we add, or any stories that modders create. All these stories will play out within Survival mode in the meta-game, with the various outcomes branching based upon the character’s traits and with set probabilities, or influenced by the player or other NPCs.
  3. Here it is: http://projectzomboid.com/blog/2013/08/sheet-ropes-and-the-adventures-of-metabob-and-metakate/ http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/3-mondoid-reposts/?p=7873
  4. I wouldn't know. Doubt the devs will come in here before posting the Mondoid just to tell us what to expect. Penis
  5. The health screen will be reworked when they overhaul the health system, I assume. The current silhouette is a left-over from the old character sprites, that had fairly big heads.
  6. Never seen that quote. Let me open up the Book of Lemmy: http://www.theindiestone.com/community/viewtopic.php?p=79231#p79231 Specifically on weed: http://www.theindiestone.com/community/viewtopic.php?p=79277#p79277 Weed = Paranoid + Drowsyness - Stress and Boredom I'd say there's no real reason not to have it. It's a common thing and we're trying to portray a somewhat realistic world. Not having it would be weird. We'll likely add a whole bunch of narcotics in an update when we're on more solid footing to add items in on a whim. When NPC trading comes in I can imagine it being a valuable commodity to get stuff from withdrawn addled crack addicts or whatever. Also, out of all the survivor NPCs you'll meet, I can imagine the crackheads being something to watch out for. http://www.theindiestone.com/community/viewtopic.php?p=79283#p79283 That makes pixelly nipples a maybe, too.
  7. Why does it say you've got a video driver for Win XP when you're running Windows 7? Please update your video drivers as stated on the FAQ. Ideally, don't update them via Windows Update but via the intel site. Edit: Didn't see EG's post.
  8. Unlike other sandbox options, this would require a huge ammount of work for something that might not even be used by the player. As a mod though? Absolutely
  9. Please and serve. Please. And. Serve.

  10. Maybe I should be more precise. When saying physics engine I imagine something with somewhat correct physics. Think Source, CryEngine, etc. Not something basic as Minecraft. That's jus tnot going to happen in PZ.
  11. The current firearms combat system is not final. I'm fairly sure there will be a skill to it that determines how good your character can handle guns.
  12. This would be a feature that would be implemented at a later point, I can imagine. I like the idea. It doesn't really come with that much value to gameplay, though, so I'd say add it when the game is more fleshed out and separating extremities is in the game. Also, I don't think NPCs would be able to tell if it's the head of a Zombie or a "normal" dead person in 90% of the cases?! I'd like to have it. Even if only for...decorative reasons...
  13. The graphics are sprite based, so objects don't have a backside. So a true physics engine would require a whole revamp of the graphics and game engine. Basic destruction is planned. A whole physics engine won't happen, however.
  14. Unclear. A year? One and a half?Don't expect it this year
  15. I don't understand. On QWERTY keyboards the W isn't far from 3 and 4
  16. That's the goal. It probably won't be this way early on but it's where they want to take it (but doesn't stop there, I can imagine).
  17. FUCK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME
  18. Nopes. Don't quote me on this but I am fairly sure that they also wanted to change the sprites and animation of fire before it's back in. At least I think I remember Binky saying so on a stream
  19. Naked zombies. If you were given (the equivalent) of 1.000.000 USD but you would have to spend it all in one day, what would you spend it on?
  20. I don't see a reason why this should not be a thing. If at all, it would be a sandbox option. It's not like you couldn't accmplish it via Cheat Engine or editing the game files. I don't think it would be a hard thing to implement. People who don't want to use it wouldn't be affected at all.
