    Bikes?

I once had a piece torn out of my arm the size of a quarter from that time a pothole introduced me to a short-lived crash course in human flight. Didn't feel quite Wright after that. Oh the shame....

    Bikes?

It'd also be easy for a random zed to grab you and pull you down to the ground for a quick bite if you're not careful.
  3. As seen in The Walking Dead. If two groups of survivors are at war for long enough, I want to see some seriously deranged offensive tactics involving using the undead as a weapon. From rounding up zeds and locking dozens of them in an upstairs bedroom for the enemy to happen across like a swarm of man-eating landmines to hiding a stereo under their porch and cranking up Welcome to the Jungle as loud as it'll go.
  4. My taste in music is best defined as eclectic. I'll listen to anything from any genre. Old Rock, New Rock, Country, Techno. I like J-Pop and J-Rock. I like Classical and Metal. I'll be listening to Guns n' Roses one second and Village People the next. From popular American bands to obscure Swedish bands. I listen to it all if it piques my interest.
  5. The only way I could possibly back this is if you had the best possible relationship with the NPC in question (Loyal Companion or Lover). That way, they'd be seen as someone interested in continuing the legacy of your dead character.

    Bikes?

Back when I still played Day Z, a bike was usually the first thing I found and repaired. Oh, how I loved my bike... Dunno how it would work here, though. Might have to have a programmer chime in to see if it's feasible. Then again, vehicles are a planned feature, so this thread may well be a waste of board space if the devs considered bikes among the list of vehicles.
  7. Hear me out, guys. I'm only suggesting this because the game is set in Kentucky, and semi-automatic assault rifles are legal to own here. You can buy an AR-15 down at wal-mart, for crying out loud, and it's just an M16 with full auto removed. However! These guns are pretty damn expensive and not very many people own them. Also, it uses 5.56mm ammo, which is hard to come by and expensive as all get out. I'd imagine there wouldn't be more than two or three of these in the whole game, and ammo would be so hard to find that you'd be almost guaranteed to never fire a shot. If you did end up using this weapon, you'd probably just end up giving it to an NPC with high guns skill and have them babysit the safehouse to keep hostile NPC's from stealing your stuff while you're out looting. Only reason I'm even bothering to suggest this is because I know for a fact they're legal here, so coming across one would indeed be plausible.
  8. Welding something fast and ugly like a barricade is easy. Doing it safely, on the other hand... Not so much. It's easy to catch yourself or something else on fire if you're not VERY careful. And as far as basic barricades go, I think there should be a modification on how current door barricades are handled. If you barricade a door, it should be as a big wooden bar that slides into place from the inside so you can come and go as you want.
  9. I use a file to keep my ax sharp whenever I'm cutting down trees that have died of disease on my property, and let me tell you it is time consuming. If you want to do it any sort of quickly you'll need a vice to hold it down nice and tight, and even then it takes me an hour or so to get a halfway decent edge on it. Anything better than that takes a loooong while. Maybe take only a short while to get the ax up to 30% sharpness, but getting anything better than that would take a serious time investment?
  10. Would we be able to grow these herbs in a farm plot?
  11. Might be a good thing to have an option for digging up grass. Could even keep it as an item for use in fertilizing vital crop soils.
  12. YES! That's the kinda stuff I wanna hear! I've got so much loot it's pouring out my ears.
  13. I think weapon degradation could be handled a bit differently. Has anyone here ever owned an ax? Those things are damn near indestructible. It makes no sense at all for one to break and become unusable because it's worn out. The head is pretty much a solid hunk of metal, and if you wanna break one of those plastic grips they're made with nowadays you actually gotta put in an extreme amount of solid effort. I'm talking bolting it to the ground and tying the handle to a truck amounts of effort. Why not make it so that the edge dulls and it becomes a lot less combat capable as a result? You can still use it to fight zeds, but the effectiveness is diminished a huge amount. If you wanted to keep using it, you'd have to go and get a grind stone and a vice to keep the edge sharp, and even then it would take literal hours of effort to get the edge back up to perfect condition. And if the handle were to break for some reason, you could craft a new handle out of wood. An ax with a meagerly sharpened head and a hand-made handle would be less effective in combat than a brand new machine sharpened ax, but it would still be a decent weapon nonetheless. It would be the same thing for guns as well, except you need a weapon maintenance kit to do the same thing. Special cleaning tools and oils would help clean out a frequently used gun and help keep it in top working order, and if parts break on it you'd have to machine shop new ones or steal parts from other broken guns of the same model to make repairs. Knives would still break, though, because they're a lot smaller and as such are more easily breakable unless they're combat knives specifically designed for pitched combat. The combat knives would suffer the same fate of the humble ax in that it would need a frequent amount of time spent sharpening to keep the combat knife in working order. There should be two different kinds of bats as well. Wooden bats and metal bats. The difference is that the metal bats are hollow and a lot less durable because of it, while the wooden bats are solid, finely crafted wood and therefore would likely last a lot longer.
  14. You could, but then you'd have to build fortifications to keep out the horribly irradiated zombies.
  15. Electrical work? Could use it to make an electrified barbed wire fence.
  16. I prefer to think of it as a ban hammer.
  17. Reason we don't see more of this kind of thing in games is because it is EXCEEDINGLY difficult to get this kind of thing to work.
  18. This topic is disturbing... I wonder what sort of interactions and relationships will be possible when the new NPC build is reintroduced into the game. Is there a topic in the old forum that covers that?
  19. If you've gotten to the point where the only liquid available is your own waste water, than odds are good you're already so dehydrated that your urine is more poison than it is water.
  20. Maybe sex could be substituted for such things as cuddling on a sofa or simply sharing the same bed during sleep? It would achieve more or less the same thing in finding comfort and happiness in the touch of another human being that you're fond of. Not really sure what the devs have said on that particular note.
  21. Everyone on my team has psychic powers. God I love Mindfray and Mind Control.
