  1. "I kind of agree (and Will raised this very issue) however calling it Normal is a no no because it is NOT normal and we don't want to paint the impression that playing on this mode is a 'normal' PZ experience as it's not. Maybe we need a different name to beginner but we need some indication that its easier." I actually think Lemmy is talking about beginner mode here. Not wanting it to be called Normal, because it's not. He don't mean survival. Anyway, as Enigma just said sounds about right to me. Edit: my quote got f'd up. Sorry
  2. There is no normal mode i think."Survival" is hyping up to be brutal shit, so in theory, "Survival" is hard. So i guess Beginner is easy? Or normal? Maybe the two, so Beginner is going to be the normal mode, but not the real brutal PZ. I see what you mean, but on the other hand who decides what is normal or easy? Not you or me, and the devs stated that survival is their normal so thereby normal doesn't fit with "beginner mode". Now I'm not trying to pick a fight or disrespect you, but what I mean is that I want most users to pick survival and talk about it as if it was the choice to play the game as it is intended to be. "Beginner mode" is only there to teach people to play and survive. "Survival" is the intended "normal" game mode for PZ, as the devs have stated before. Maybe the name can be changed, but I only think this will fool players to think that beginner mode is how the devs want the "real" game experience to be.
  3. I think beginner mode should be called "beginner" because that's what it is. "Casual" kind of have the same meaning as "Normal". If anything I think "casual" fits more with the "survival" style, cuz that is normal for PZ. I can imagine someone skipping "beginner" mode and die really hard, trying out survival, only to go back and play beginner a while... And after they feel somewhat used to the game mechanics they will fearfully click "survival", remembering that first brutal try that sent them to a quick merciless game over. Once they master that game mode, then they will feel true accomplishment Edit: I also agree as someone said before in this thread that there should be a description text next to the game mode, that would be simple to understand.
  4. Wow!! This all makes me almost tear eyed. PZ!! Myyyy baaaaby!!! You've grown up!!! Im so happy though, seriously! Im on a sunny hot holiday now, but after reading latest mondoid and Lemmys link.... I WANNA GO HOME PLAY PZ!!! Edit: spelling
  5. This is a good idea, maybe a rock isn't enough to attract many zombies, maybe only 1-3, but the idea itself is great if you ask me.. Would add more tactics into gameplay too I agree though it shouldn't be OP.
  6. Really does suck when it's something strange -- like your two-component rocket causes the launch pad to detonate or your parachutes just vanish mid-landing, but I've learned to live with it. Haha yeah, I see what you mean maybe add extra parashutes incase that happens Also launch stabilisers (I think they're called) makes it less likely that the launch pad explodes if it still happens I try to think of it as a kerbal factor mistake.. no room for mistakes in PZ though.
  7. Okay haha yeah I had forgotten they got an animator working with them now hope a lot of goodies comes out from this!
  8. It's one of the things I like about kerbal space program. They added the option to not be able to quick save or quick load in the newest version if you play career mode. Now when I play it, my little austronauts die and I love to miss them. Before they implemented "iron man", I didn't have a single casualty and you know why? Cuz I can't stop myself from clicking quick save... Now I really try my best to be careful and think through everything I do in the game... I don't "want" an hour planned trip to another planet to fail and all my crew die. It's so much more pleasing and exciting to see them return from a dangerous journey that lasted a couple hours when I know I only got one chance to make it right, landing back on earth again, rather than "oh damn they crashed, I better press quick load". Yeah I'd not play PZ with quick load or auto save, though I would if you could disable it when starting a new game.
  9. Saving and loading will never be part of this game if it was I'd stop playing haha...
  10. I think the devs have more important issues to be bothered with though it'd be nice with some more variety.
  11. I really hope someone at TIS sees this... I'd say it's rather important. I don't know wether it's very difficult to add into the game though. sadly my guess is this would be of low priority right now since the devs already have so much to do maybe someone could mod this into the game? Or at least some kind of warning once alarm goes off? Also, I think you can actually see a zombies shadow when it sneaks up behind you, even though you don't see the zombie itself, I think this happens when you pick the trait "good hearing" in the games character creating screen... I haven't played in a while but I'm pretty sure of this. Might serve as an extra warning if you can't hear their moans. would be ironic if that trait actually help someone who got real life hearing problems eh? You only see it once they're really close though, i'd say 2-3 steps from you tops! If I'm wrong about this please someone correct me, as I'm not 100% sure this works. Edit: word of advice is to always look around a lot, use control+mouse to check around you at all times... And if you got a fence you should do daily checks around the perimeter to see if a Z is banging it down somewhere. I always start every new morning in the game to do that, once I have a safe house set up.
  12. Glad to hear we understand eachother I See no harm in it if it's a sandbox choise or outside survival mode oh well it's up to the gods to decide (the devs).
  13. If I sound harsh, it's not against you, it really isn't, I just really want this game to be what it's always been, cause the way it's been promoted and the future features have always been hardcore gaming. I don't want to be "not lovely" but PZ may be THE game I ever looked forward to most in my gaming life. Permadeath is one of the core features of this game and if they removed it, I'd be deeply disappointed. I can even go so far to say that I at first glance likes your idea and I still do, but at the cost of Permadeath it's a definite no for me.
  14. I want it to be proper "Iron man mode" just like xcom. I dont even want to be able to respawn at map so I hope the rumour is true that they'll remove this. I wanna know that when I leave my group for a "mission" it might be the last time I see them Edit: I never ever start a character on an old save, it completely takes away the whole point of this game, at least for me it does. Sorry man, but I'm determined on this and I want this game to stay hardcore. I must say I agree with Migualo on basically every point he made. Also I don't think he's Beeing a "dick", whoever stated that
  15. Yeah they're already working on this, if you look around some more in the forums zombie hordes will soon devastate your home.
  16. I must say that this is a great idea! An option for hearing impaired in the menu which adds symbols were there would normally be sounds would be great! Maybe even the occasional chat bubble on zombies "uuugh" representing their moans? That is if you click the options though.
  17. Whatever happens I'm sure most of us will be happy with the results! I trust TIS more than I trust my family.
  18. I must say I also would like it to get more personal, rather than them running around constantly improving the base and farming etc.. I know some won't agree with me but I really can imagine the NPCS adapting "the sims" relationship kind of system (without the bars & heavily modified). I would most definitely love this. Every time I play, I want it to feel like an episode of The Walking Dead. I want to care about my little NPCS and make them "feel" like things are going to be ok. I wanna have responsibility for a group of characters with their own personality. Anyway, I'd love for a smoking NPC to grab a cigarette once in a while and there actually be an animation for it, or the farming guy to guard his crops, walking around with a tool in his hand and the dog follow him around the field. I also wanna see NPCS chatting or watching tv, playing cards, falling asleep when on guard duty and so on... Maybe there could be a "passive mode" that kicks in when there's not any zombies around and they're inside the walls of our base? When they actually relax and tend to other duties and act less like a player and more like a person. Maybe I dream too much, sometimes I worry everyone (including me) have too much hype for future features. I see people talk about so detailed stuff it's crazy if it could be implemented in the game. Anyway I'm sure it won't be disappointing. Everything that TIS done so far with the game have been amazing. This is easily the game I look forward to the most. Even in it's current state it's mind blowing and there is no other game out there that handles the Z apocalypse this well.
  19. That's actually a great idea, I didnt think of it that far. I can imagine planning the whole farming idea a month or so ahead, gather supplies and preparing traps. Then after a few months or so when all is ready to harvest then there will be some vegetables lost to animals, maybe some is rotten if you didn't care for it enough. I'd love for farming to be planned ahead and potentially screwed up so the output will be way less than expected, and I'd love for it to have a bigger impact on your gameplay if you fail. If successful then food won't be a big issue for a couple months, if not then you're just gonna have to cope with it and go on dangerous scavenging runs, etc. I'm sure this idea has it's flaws though (maybe we're expected to die earlier), but it sounds great in my head.
  20. Awesome Packbat, thats truely a great list if we'd be able to get the stuff on your list i'd be satisfied to 100%.
  21. Mankini would be amazing to see! Nah but seriously blood stained clothes would be awesome. Also proper winter clothes and season based clothing would be so nice and realistic.
  22. I don't know anything about farming, but if it would take longer to grow crops, wouldn't it be possible they could also make it so the plants could be "fully grown" in the garden for quite a while as well before harvesting? Would be good to not need to harvest them all at the same time to avoid them from getting rotten too quick, but let's say you could go to your garden, pick 3 tomatoes to make sauce for your pasta and leave the rest of the tomatoes on the plant for a while longer?
  23. Wow... I need to invest in a new computer and a new joystick
  24. Id love to have a full on farm with animals. I fear most will be dead due to zombies desperate for flesh though. Depends on what zombie lore the game follows. Will PZ zombies eat animals too or only human flesh?
