  1. ___________ / \ / R.I.P. \ | | | Dee | | Crapio | | | | survived | | 15 d | | 23 h | | | ++++++++++++++++ https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/55474402/zomboid/Legacy%201m-5d-0y.rar I've left two Journals and a few useful items gathered in two different not really hidden locations. Although I enjoyed my stay I felt like I should end it at some point (with a bit of drama to discover). Who's next?
  2. Ok, sorry. Had the impression you maybe didn't know that. I broke a lot of windows on my first few days ingame until I saw that on a Let's play from someone else..
  3. Ah, thank you. That's gonna make it much easier! I was lucky starting in someone's safehouse and finding pen and journal prepared (Thank you, stranger). That mod could be a good addition for those, who jump in later and at some point a necessity, 'cause there seems to be no general respawn in this save and the total amount of journals in westpoint is limited. Not exactly, because of zombieloot, but you can be pretty unlucky depending on zombieloot. But a downside to a mod would be having to install an extra mod in addition to the savegame. Which is, on the other hand, not really complex. With subsequent players in mind, I guess it is best not to loot any journals or pens from houses and only grab those from zombies (same with pens). I dunno.. ^^ I'm already planning out how to continue my game and have to say: It's really great. I love it. To find footprints of others and have to struggle with an already raided town is a really cool and challenging new experience. Some may ask: Why don't you just play online? But i think it's not the same thing, and I personally would already have my own private server (it's already set up and stuff), if there wouldn't be this sleeping and exhaustion downside to mp at the moment. Which is gamebreaking to me. Well, nuff said. You can look forward to finding badly spelled yoda style written journals in this savegame soon! I guess i should play my guy as a tourist from europe. Maybe some mixed in german cuss words would be a funny read.
  4. I'm four or five days in now. Don't know how long i will make it, will continue on the weekend. It's awesome so far, but i will need more food soon. I also struggle a bit on getting things done and keeping my own diary/journal up to date. Days are short... ^^
  5. I'm not 100% sure you do know, that you can simply try to open a window by pressing 'e' in front of it. Never had to bash a window (since i know that mechanic ^^), 'cause at least one per house will be always openable. Just saying. Despite that, your suggestion would be a reasonable addition.
  6. Cool idea, sounds very interessting! Maybe i'll give it a try tonight.
  7. Yep, u can look though barricades unless fully barricaded with 4 planks.
  8. I would love to see rare Army/Hunting Vests/Trousers with a lot of pockets. They would add extra inventories with smaller capacities to keep stuff more organized. Yeah, like in DayZ.. I could store bullets in my vest, have some bandages and a bit of food in my pants... ...and a hidden knife on my shin.
  9. So the player is an "average Joe". How about learning some not so average skills from some not-exactly-average-Joe-NPC you have to find/meet ingame? Maybe there could be one NPC, who knows how to, for example, cast bullets. You could meet people, who have one or two special skills and, as it would be in reality, give their knowledge to others. You're still an average Joe, but you've met someone, who taught you some special skill. As long as you make friends with him and don't have shot him right away... I guess the best way to survive the zombocalypse is to find people who can teach you their portion of known skills to survive a.k.a. build a group and help each other. I want bullet-casting and/or -dealing NPCs - nao plx! )
  10. That (the bold part) would be a great way to encourage us to raise our cooking skill. At the moment I'm only cooking for a change here and there and never got higher than first skilllevel to date. my (a bit offtopic, sry) thoughts about cooking: Giev prservation nao, plxplx. I liek!
  11. No pineapple cans? Boohoo! Nice list. More variety would be great, indeed. However i guess we have to wait for the game to get near "featurecomplete" till we get more variety in stuff like that.
  12. It's a nice idea. Spending a plank and a nail (for example) to upgrade crapy old walls to your current level of carpentry would be very useful and a lot better then having to destroy and rebuild it. Also it seems realistic to me to be able to improve your stuff from earlier on with a bit of extra wood.
  13. Pannekoeken, what else? Waffles? Just about a competitor for American Pancakes, but who wants these at all?
  14. Aye, to my knowledge they haven't confirmed or denied larger predators like that, though bears have gotten pretty uncommon outside of the mountains here. Nature takes over after shit hit the fan for mankind.. They could get more common (again?) after akopalypse. Don't take me serious, please. Just kiddin. Don't want to offend anyone. Would be cool to have additional threats like a bear as a rare encounter ingame. Edit: Now, that i think about it... hard to kill even with guns and nearly impossible to flee by foot.. uhm.. we should stick with zombies.
  15. The Zombies seem to react to Sadisitc AI Events i do not hear. Some of them may have better ears than my character, but all of them? Had three occasions where zombies around me started to walk in one direction while i didn't hear anything. Maybe you should do some volume balancing on both or either side (zombie reaction distance vs event volume).
  16. Having said that other reload difficulties than "easy" are not working for me (regardless of what i do. maybe I should write/check for a ticket, yep..) there should be an option to unload a gun in all modes for several already mentioned reasons.
  17. Portable Ladders would be a nice addition. But for now i would already be happy, if the ones which are already in the game were climbable.
  18. WIIIIIIILSOOOOOON! Sorry for useless post..
  19. Dean Hall mentioned it in a post as a source of inspiration for good mechanics, i think. I just clicked the link and fell in love. What option should i vote? ;-]
  20. Hell-o! In advance: I really don't want to annoy you / get on so.'s nerves, I am simply curious at the new "migration system" and what it is doing. Maybe I mis- or overread the fitting words, would feel sorry then. This made me wonder what is happening exactly: I sum up (hopefully short enough) what i do know and understand: So Lemmy explained in a detailed post, why its not possible to have the migration from map-borders to somewhere in a practical way. Only cells in the near vicinity of the player are processed for technical (and for me fully understandable) reasons. So its not possible to process a horde at any point on the map except its near a player, at least not in a, how can i phrase that, "real" way, because the cells are not in memory, not processed in any way at that moment. I read from your posts in this thread, that if i come back to (or leave?) an area, where there are few Zeds left, there will spa... eh ...migrate new Zombies. What i want to know now: is it just like a) the cell gets loaded and checked for maybe [time since last visit] and [amount of Zombies inside] and if its empty and (for example) 2 days unvisited now there are standing 3 to 5 or whatever amount of new Zombies around in this cell now or b) there is some sort of abstract(!) simulation in the background. Like having virtual (haha, what a word in this context..) numbers of zombies with abstract positions (for the time without Players around just vague coordinates) and a simulated speed like 1,5 cells/per day heading for areas known as Zed-empty by the game. Beeing abstract to the point where a players position (or better: the area, thats currently processed) coincides with one of these. or c) are both options not nearly whats happening now? I hope, you can make a short statement about my speculations (simply a), b) or c) would be adequate, more much appreciated of course). As I said I'm just nosey and happy about the stuff you are doing and I don't want to steal your precious time. Tis game is soooo lovely! <3<3<3
  21. Uh, ok. No difference to sandbox then.Sorry for spreading my half-knowledge (and bad english ^^)! Edit: typos again.. >.<
  22. Umm, don't know since when, but it's possible. Though only in Sandbox mode.
  23. Mmh, the ones already lying around in the second screenie (first with zeds) where killed with a melee weapon in a session a few days ago. Only had a few shotgunshots at the school far to the west before. As i mentioned before, the third screenie (second with zeds around) was taken after firing the shotgun 1-2 times already after stumbling over the horde, that's why there are lying even more on the ground. I've often seen single Zed's walking from the far south to the north, sometimes maybe 2 or 3 at a time, but never had such a huge amount of Zeds all headed for one direction. The screens do not show that as much as i would wish, because the second screenie just contains a small part of the whole zed-horde and the third is taken after i already influenced their direction with my gunshots. I have seen "migrations" driven by events like gunshots and helicopters and it really didn't look like one of these. Another point is: After i came back with a new char a single ingame day later there was not a single zombie left there. So the whole crowd despawned (aeh, nope?) or had just moved further to whatever direction... Good one. Well, i may be wrong, indeed. (dev statement needed here ^^) But i hope, if/when it gets back, it will NOT be a "hell of a common" thing to have 300 Zed's heading for you. BTW: How much singleplayer PZ hours have you played since last update..? Had anyone else similar appearences out there? Ah ok, yeah, i've seen lots of them walking north in Westpoint, but it were always just a few (1-2). In this case it is a big accumulation of buggy zeds. If "zed migration" is not in yet, i'm really looking forward to it after this great gameplay experience. Edits: Damn typos...
  24. I forgot to mention: Was my first attempt to use a shotgun in that area. All Zeds where killed with melee weapons beforhand. There was no sadistic ai driven event (didn't hear anything) that could explain migration. Furthermore the horde was just to big for beeing pulled from near vicinty. Haven't seen anything like that before.
  25. Well, i was playing yesterday evening and had the plan to clear the towncenter of WP a bit, so i can start looting there. (Sry for the large pics, hope, the spoilers work) I went from my safehouse east and suddenly, after only a single block, i stumbled over this: I've spawned in this region, i have cleared the whole area before, and then, there is this huge amount of Zeds walking to the north. What u can see on the pic is just a small portion of the whole crowd. So i thought "Why not start with these guys." and began to use my shotgun. Here is another pic after the first few seconds. They were already banging through the white house north of me and were coming back from past it. More were coming from the south, where they all came from apparently. Again, this is only a part of the whole horde. Well, i guess, i was too self confident with my shotgun anyhow, they managed to grab me in a split second... That was great fun even if my skills are gone now and i had to make a new character. At least I was very lucky and respawned in my safehouse (which is not the one i spawned in first time). After heading back to the place to search for my loot there were no more "living" Zeds left. But i found my char and could loot him without problems. Zombie Distri is on normal (not insane) by the way. That was a really great experience and was worth the sacrifice (yep, even though it was needless). I guess horde migration is back in. At least in single player. U really should think about some fences for your crops. <3
