Save Game option

It would be great if the player could save the game anytime he wants not just when the game exits.

 If they did this I think it would be a mistake and would take away from the "I want you dead" feeling I get every time I play the game or read the dev blog. The whole challenge in this game is that when you are dead it is over, there's no second chance, no rewinding time, just one opportunity to make your way in the world before you join the masses as a lumbering corpse

I disagree with this as having a manual save point would make this game just another one like any other one.

 

I am new to this game, but already the "being responsible for your choices" has me captured. Rather keep this unique slant on the game as there are loads of other games out there that have a save game option, and I am not playing them I am intrigued by this one!

I can see it being a sort of easy mode option if one was ever implemented, but since I doubt that'll ever happen I'd rather this not be a thing. Autosave should be the only save.

Even if it was an optional mode, it'd still encourage reckless behaviour, rather than the careful consideration the game needs now. The fear of permadeath is what makes these soughts of games great.

The inability to save is like the point of the game. Including a save option would rip out the soul of the game. Other than that it's pretty easy to cheat anyway.
