What does the coldpacks do?

I think they do not do what their name implies but are an ingredient in smoke bomb recipe I believe. I know no other use currently.

Yeah, I don't how it could what its name implies-not yet anyway. Check out these recipes for bombs. The author laments ice packs being hard to find, but I found one.

I'd like to see cold packs usable for pain relief. You could attach it to a wound with a ripped sheet to reduce pain and swelling. After a few hours it would turn into a 'Warm Cold Pack', and would have to be put into a fridge for a few hours to be usable again.

And here I saved all the packs I got because one of my previous chars died from fever...

Well, who knows-maybe the devs have future plans for them. =) If not, hopefully they'll introduce aspirin...or make painkillers reduce fever. in any case, at least you maybe can make a bunch of smoke bombs and see how they work (if you haven't already). I've read that you can find recipe books to let you do that, but I haven't come across any.
