come on. The weight traits as they are are FREE POINTS after a while.
I feel it's only fair to have them long lasting disadvantages.
You don't want them? Don't take the traits

I still miss the fix about retrieving the Knife from a broken spear - it still doesnt work, tough last update said that its possible now.
The game is still fun, but the more i read about the recent changes the more i feel like the weight of the Updates goes into making the game more and more punishing.
Burglar seems now really strong early in the game tough - to me its the first update that makes things easier.
In terms of the weight related traits - I'm not sure if youre aware of that - but after getting rid of the one-shot stab with the knife in build 41 - underweight started to be a trait that allready mattered... the start needs to be pretty perfect to not struggle because of the missing damage - i feel that there was not much need to make it even harder to play with this trait...
Update after playing 20 Minutes of my current save - I might have to start over again, the changes to the traits outright suck.
Hemophobic should give 20 Points now as it is to be worth taking anymore.
Bug Report:
I'm not sure if its related to the Weight related traits getting changes.. My character has the trait High thirst, and it acutally went insane...
Getting through a bottle of water within killing 8 Zombies, another bottle after the next 8 Zombies - something severely changed about the water consumption of my Character, whatever the reason is.
Resumé: i'm going to stop beta testing and check things out as soon as 41 goes public - if it goes public like that i might not play it much longer - dunno if its my playstyle, or the traits i tend to chose, but everything that got balanced since build 41 hurt my playstyle - its just not fun anymore to me...
I wish the stable build 40 to go back to will be up soon. the Changes with build 41 had much potential but everything got overly balanced
so, just to understand, you're complaining because now you can't get free points easily by exploiting the weight traits like in build 40?
Honestly, especially in multiplayer, they just give free points after a while. I think it's just correct that they have long lasting consequences (for example, not having the same fitness level as someone of normal weight).
Hemophoic is already going to be changed, or better, the amount of blood you get splashed by. And really, you're taking it just for the points? You should also think about the consequences...

One zombie and you are covered in blood. We have a hotfix with an adjustment planned for it.

I think a hematophobia should avoid fighting anyways, at least they don't want a bloody fight.
So you should think about it, do you really want to fight? Or you can handle the consequence yourself?

I for sure could sling the fire axe in the back slot.

bump, this would be a quite nice middle ground.

The only reason I'm forced to copy/paste savegames for multiplayer is when I have to switch pc and I want to use the same character. In MP saves should really be server side...
In single, I think you can do whatever you want with your save.

Me and my friends tried to sleep at the same time in multiplayer, but there's just no option to sleep, at all (tried beds, chairs etc)
Edit: nevermind, found the server string, will test this out

obviously something with dragons since they promised them to be in PZ, and I have yet to see one!
Bad devs, bad!

hello!
my buddy was able to place the spiked barricade...and it turned invisible
any idea about how to fix this?
-
quick question about spiked barricades:
in multiplayer a friend of mine created one, but when he drops it on the ground, dropping it like any other item, it just does nothing, you can pass through it (zombies can as well ).
Did he do something wrong? Shouldn't the barricade be a placeable like the normal ones?

when you're in a situation like this, always remember the ending credits from Monkey Island 2.
They can do wonders

pacience level:
no problem!

not even a single time!

see, my eyes skipped automatically the beginner mode, so now I can make my wife play the game, and one day, allow her to join me
And all thanks to this post!
Now I only wonder how to get one of those funny titles.... *ponders*

very nice, gonna try this out!

I can already imagine the classic scene that everybody hate (or at least I do ): as much as I love dogs, if I should risk my life to save a dog, well... we all know how it ends usually XD
keep barkin' buddy. Just keep barking.

opening more ports solved the issue.
Surely it's not practical and could be addressed in future releases
-
uh, you don't have to alter it.
It's called PZserverSettings.exe (which is an executable, you have to launch it). Once opened, you'll see a panel just like the sandobox options in game, all this little program does is modify those settings and apply it to your server.

Yeah something like :
16261 UDP (used for communication with the server)16262-16267 TDP (used to stream the map to the player clients)Any idea what kind of file(s) it tries to download while logging on to the server (screenshot) ?Thanks.Tonight I'll open up more ports (so far I got them open up to the 16264) and provide a screenshot of the error.
-
yep, previously it worked fine, we were in 5 players at a certain points. The ports are open up to the one ending with 4 (I can't remember the number right now, but it's the exact one), so if that's true it should at least have space for 4 people, not 2. I'll try opening more ports and see what happens.
-
you can just launch the server propertiers "program" which you can find in the Zomboid folder, and adjust the quantity, or otherwise manually spawn the hordes by entering as admin and typing /createhorde XXX where XXX is a number
-
edit: the "I can't see the other player" was due simply to one of them having crashed and not realizing about that
The other issue persists and it's quite bothersome.
-
As by title, since the update my server (started from scratch) has been having this strange issue.
It seems that no matter what, no more than 2 people can connect at the same time. The player is stuck at the loading phase, reaching the black screen, and the log talks about being unable to download a zip and "waiting forever".
In the last test, the two players couldn't even see each other (but previosly in the game I was playing with another friend without any issue).
Ideas?
I don't like where this game is heading to.

While I don't agree with the rest, I think that the traits need a revamp/rework, especially the fitness ones.
Most of the people take overweright and such because they are relatively easy to get rid of, ending up having free points.
That, along with the floating building (which really should be addressed), is the only gripe I have for build 41, because, otherwise, it's really exceptional.
You can always play the older versions ;D
