  1. In favour of this as a 'hidden' skill. It does make sense that a survivor would adapt to the emotional strains of the situation
  2. I'd say fear makes you run away, panic makes you freeze.
  3. Hi CK, "Cleaning up corpses/blood" is on the confirmed 'yes' list for future features in the 'commonly suggested' thread.
  4. Not sure that's possible... The devs won't know what drivers or hardware the game has a problem with - unless someone reports it of course. Welcome to the world of PC gaming! Best solution for people is to try the demo. It's not a guarantee, but it's a good indication.
  5. Me too, although I'd probably end up either breaking it or blowing my own face off...
  6. Absolutely, may not be necessary at all! Just figure that it's probably better to do a suggestion now. That way, if the suggestion is liked it can be worked on as it's taken forward, rather than going to all the effort of building the system and then going back to tweak it for sandbox after the fact. Not only might it not be necessary, it could already be in the plans - but never ask, never know .
  7. From what I understand based on the snippets that I've read so far, it will actively try and kill you in a sense. It's true enough that in the current build you can hold up somewhere like the Western Farm and be relatively safe. I'm there now, and bar the occassional straggler or two - life is peachy. My understaning is that the Sadistic AI Director would keep the game challenging, and that may involve, say, pointing a horde in my direction... and I have no issue with that. I want survival mode to be a challenge and look forward to the introduction. But - I also want a nice sandboxy experience where I can live my life, keep my crops and get on with things. If a horde shows up in that game I will deal with it and won't sulk (if I wanted safety, I'd turn the zombies off), but want to know that it stumbled upon me by random chance rather than the machinations of an unseen intelligence. Is not that I want things to be easy in that sandbox world, just that I'd rather have the option to make things be more natural.

    Rotate Map

Simple once explained, but divvies like me have no knowledge of how objects are modelled in a game engine.

    Rotate Map

Yeah - I agree that's a bit open to interpretation. Is rotating the existing view a 'change'? Like you, I didn't initially read it that way, but when I found Rath's post it kind of made sense and fell into place.

    Rotate Map

I'd like to see it, but it's not going to happen - at least not for a long time. This post from another thread sums up the why's and wherefore's quite nicely: - http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/4222-a-question-or-two-about-the-3-d-engine/
  11. For all I know, this is already planned - but in the event it's not, I would like to raise it. I would like to see the ability to fine-tune the (planned) AI Director's intelligence/activity level on Sandbox. Genius/Intelligent/Basic/Disabled. Hyperactive/Active/Under-active/Inactive Something like that... I like the idea of the AI Director for what it'll bring to survival mode, but also like the idea of RPing in a sandbox where the post-apocalyptic world is going on around me without actively trying to kill me.
  12. I'm not sure the devs are bothered about making the zombie plague 'realistic', so attempting to apply this level of logic to how it works is unnecessary. Amputation is down as a 'maybe' on the commonly suggested thread, which means the devs have an idea in mind if they do decide to implement. Not to discourage you from debating between yourselves, if that's what you want, just to make you aware that continuing debate is unlikely to have an impact on the game - in fairness most of this has been covered in other threads.
  13. What Suomibo said, except that I think some of the reply is confused due to you using some of the numbers twice... In any case, the vast majority of suggestions here are covered by the 'Commonly Suggested' thread so have a quick read of that to get an idea of what is expected in the future and what are confirmed no's. I love the 'maniac' trait. I'd go further and make it a disadvantage that changes the way the moods work. Your dude should get angry instead of scared around zombies, and if you go a while without killing anything you'd get a debilitating mix of anger, boredom and depression.
  14. I believe he's talking about destroying an existing property's staircase, rather than building a house on stilts.
  15. Burying supplies... Cool idea. Looks like there was a thread a while ago that fizzled out, since lack of MP made it redundant. Why not put your thought in there and resurrect it? Could be a good discussion to revisit now - http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/305-hidey-hole/
  16. Welcome to the forums GB! Great to see lots of new people signing up recently. Take some time to read the sticky posts at the top of the suggestions page, they'll help you to put your ideas and input in the most constructive way. Always check the search function too - best to necro an old post and add new thoughts on an existing suggestion than it is to create a new thread entirely, otherwise we keep seeing the same conversations repeating themselves . Stick around, have fun, watch out for the zombies.
  17. I'm fairly in favour of that. Knowing how to reload is as much a part of being skilled in firearms as aiming is. Less usual that you would be good at one, but not the other.
  18. Given that 'blunt' and 'blade' weapons are viewed by the devs as being distinct enough to warrant separate skills, I'm guessing that bows and guns will be treated differently skills-wise as well. Just my guess then.

    Lock doors

Hey, no worries. Just the usual 'point in the right direction' post - no need to apologise for anything

    Lock doors

Hi acateon and welcome to the forums , Lockable doors have already been confirmed for the future. Please read the pinned threads at the top of the Suggestions forum for Commonly Suggested stuff and How to Write a Good Suggestion. http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/192-commonly-suggested-suggestions-read-before-posting/ http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/26-how-to-write-a-good-suggestion-read-before-posting/ Passwords I've not heard before, so that may be new. Do a search using the bar in the top right to see if it's been suggested before. It's probably worth using "Password Protected Doors" or similar as a title, as hardly anyone is going to read a "Lock Door" thread, since we already know locked doors are going to happen.
  21. Not a fan, for practical rather than lore-related purposes. Would take too many zombies to form a pile like that - a huge horde. Would take aaaages for it to happen with slow zombies, so would hardly ever happen at all - and never under a player's nose. Would take 90% of the zombies involved out of action, which seems a bit cheap. Others.
  22. I think there has been some miscommunication here in that some the posts so far could be read in a way that they come iff as rude, but [probably] weren't meant that way, which has clearly led to a bit of lashing out. I just want to say I love you all and am sad that people aren't getting on. I'm sure it's all a mistunderstanding. For the record Spark - if you are still reading - nobody you have spoke to so far is 'staff', and I'm sure of you try again you'll find us a friendly enough bunch. There are threads out there covering a lit of this stuff, so it's best to add your comments to them to keep all the ideas on one topic in one place. It's also not recommended that you make loads of suggestions in a single thread for the same reason.
  23. I love that 'yummy' is a tag word for this thread. Given that "Personal Hygiene (going to the bathroom, etc.)" is a confirmed no, then I think bottling urine is out of the question for PZ, as delicious and nutricious as it is.
  24. Will add a faster and slower trait for weapons.I more meant that I agree with your suggestion for a trait that makes weapons break faster or more slowly.I think you're trying to do much at once here - adding a huge number of suggested traits to a single thread is going to make it difficult for people to read, consider and discuss. Also, imagine all your suggestions got implemented - the traits list would be huge and character creation would become very complicated - that's why I'm personally against traits that duplicate (or add to) something thats already covered by an existing trait, or really specific or unusual traits like 'toothless'. It would take forever to get past the character creation menu of everything was covered. Also, be sure to search for similar suggestions before posting. A couple seem familiar and I think may have come up before. As said though, I do think there are some good suggestions here and I support a couple of them.

    More Guns

Everyone deserves a second chance. Do it again though, and Centurion will let the Doctah off his leash
