  1. that's easy! Bottle caps XD
  2. Smoke meat it's not that easy. And you need some place to smoke them. i don't think a simple campfire would work very well...
  3. "I don't know, speaking from a position of someone who's been exposed to a few home remedies, they usually have no effect, unless you believe so strongly in them you might get some residual placebo effect or something" yeah only that in lot of cases placevo effect is not residual at all. that's one of the reasons it's difficult to make test to something...
  4. Hum maybe not an absolute skill cap but a relative one. Like you choose your primary skill that you can level to max as usual. the other skills are much harder to level up. Like in real life you could become a master at one subject, but to master another you would need a lot of more time...
  5. the shields only work against other weapons. they don't give an advantage against zombies. The shield allows the zombie to get to close, he could still scratch you. a shield is heavy, walking around with one would tire you. and when the zombie is already close enough to push your shield he's already to close for you to be able to use a weapon in an effective way
  6. Yes of course long blade XD and i agree with all that. Now shields i'll say the same again. a shield strapped to your arm lets the zombie get close enough to harm you. but if you have a shield on your hand you can hold the zombie in place and bash him with an axe
  7. I think the only kind of bladed weapon that should exist in the is the machete and axe. These are easy to use unlike any kind of sword. Only lvl 5 blade should be allowed to use a sword. And if you really want to craft something i think an axe is much easier to craft and much more useful. About the shields. The shields were used to deflect other weapons. You are not going to deflect an zombie attack. But those shields were used straped to the arm. A small and light shield in your hand though could be very useful. In my opinion it would work more as a weapon than a shield but it could work
  8. yea .destroy fixture is what i meant when i was saying destroy window frame, u can then walk trough it or build a wall on it. Sorry if my term wasnt correct, its been a while since i played. im waiting for the sadistic director No prob. I was just checking to see if i was doing something wrong. So i did what you said, I built a wall over, it works. but if you destroy the wall the frame is still there. Yeah I also haven't played much, waiting for NPC's and 2nd floor building
  9. hum, the only option that ever came up to me was to "destroy fixtures" that only destroyed the window but not the window frame... Don't know though if i can build a wall over that, gonna check that out.
  10. oh yeah you're right. The important thing is that the bucket you're going to use is empty though
  11. And what happen if a zombie horde attacks while you're logged out? is your body still there, just unresponsive? Or maybe you become a NPC while you're out? It would most likely be a case of you wouldn't exist in the world, but while away you recover from being tired. But then if you saw an horde you knew you wouldn't survive just... log out?
  12. yes but you need a empty bucket AND a bucket with water.
  13. If i'm not mistaken you can't destroy window frames or door frames
  14. And what happen if a zombie horde attacks while you're logged out? is your body still there, just unresponsive? Or maybe you become a NPC while you're out?
  15. much easier to dispose off zombies would be to give the spade another use besides as a weapon. just dig a grave, it's easier than making a huge bonfire that attracts all the zombies in a mile radius
  16. I agree. we don't know how PZ apocalypse started but against normal zombies I guess most of those guys would be alive, but that also brings new opportunities. Since he probably has tons of useful things in the shelter he could work as a kind of store if you something for him. of course you could just try to kill him but I guess he would be well armed as well.
  17. Unless they get a use to furniture I will just keep destroying it. Things that i miss in the game: a map. but not all the map at once but just what you discovered, and one that you can make notes like "don't dead open inside" cleaning up corpses sounds like a great idea! Hic sunt dracones!
  18. Is any problem with having corpses in your house? Oh your diary is amazing! keep up!
  19. That would be nice if they don't start destroying your fort just because the wall were built by you... to zombies there shouldn't be a difference, they don't start attacking a wall with no good reason...
  20. That is actually is biggest strength. The Rail Yard is not some place you run to right off. It is like living at McCoy Lumber, but worse; lots of supplies and no food to speak of. The Rail Yard is more an "end game" destination. You have to lay in supplies and then make the trek. Do you sever all ties or leave places stocked just in case (I vote the later). The two story building is a dream space to step up. The four train bunkers are also great places to fortify, especially when they get the 2nd story bug fixed. At the very least they should be sealed off as additional places to run to. The wide open spaces make it easy to spot Zed and once the area is cleared out, they dont come back. While there are a few entrances into the Yard, most can be closed off easily. It would then be just the matter of doing a permeter sweep daily, maintaining your crops and trying to not die of boredom. I have actually cleared out ALL of West Point south of the High School with a prior character (file corruption killed him too). At first the game is about surviving the now. Then it becomes fortifying and laying in supplies, not only for the impending winter but also for possible Zed incursions. Then it becomes making additional foritfications just in case you main base falls. It then all comes down to a legacy. Some people look to a challage like Get of my Lawn, never staying in the same house twice, seeing how many Zeds they can kill with their bare hands or not killing a Zed at all. For me, I think of the pharohs of old and wonder what building project I can undertake that will be a "Whooah!" moment for the game. Bolt holes and safe houses do not incur wow moments. Farms, meh. Forifications, can be cool. I look to when NPCs can be added and I can have a "Woodbury" of my own to rule from on high I agree with you in what the "end game" is all about. but until they turn on NPC's again it just turns boring very quickly... And if they ever do a multiplayer then the rail yard is perfect!
  21. yeah i like the "Take back the town" idea. If the city had 4k people, when you kill that many zombies they should all be dead. It could have course be an option, but they should never respawn near your safe house. I've had a lot of work clearing around my house. but I killed them all in a radius so big that not even the helicopter brings them to my house!
  22. Hey want to say great mod! I think that garbage bags are missing though XD Cheers!
