  1. I simply made this thread so people won't go talking about pirating in other topics (and ultimately getting those topics locked) if you think it is pointless, you are free to avoid this topic as if it's a freak mutant zombie from L4D. I really don't care either way. :3 And yes I know it isn't going to change anyone's opinion on piracy, it's not meant to. This topic is so people can freely argue their opinions of piracy. I hope this clears up why I made this topic? ^^
  2. Thank you so much Hope you feel better soon I'm much better now, thanks. :3 I also recorded my first episode of PZ yesterday, if you watch it and tell me how I can improve my videos I would appreciate it very much~
  3. I like to see that just about all of you (if not all of you) pirate games to simply test them. I do the same thing. C: I also pirated PZ, I had to save up for a week to buy it. (I'm 17, no job (Don't even say "Just go get one" because I have no way to get back and forth to and from work. I only ever get money on my birthday...), best money i have ever spent. Whenever I get a job (Or if I somehow manage to get big enough on youtube to buy things) I would love to buy the $50 version of the game if it's still available then. xD I tend to be very cautious with my money, and I actually have a few games I really want to buy right now but can't afford. But yea i'm not saying it's morally wrong (It actually guilts the shit out of me) but for the purpose of testing games it's acceptable....
  4. Why not the addition of rebar while we're at it? :3 Well if you want it to be as realistic as possible.. That's mandatory isn't it? Or am I mistaken? (I'm no mason or anything) Or is rebar so for adding extra strength? Either way.. rebar would be awesome... And it would make hell of a melee weapon
  5. I realized after I accidently started a piracy discussion in a thread that there may be people who wish to discuss this.... So I figured why not try starting a thread where people may talk about their opinions of piracy? I just ask one thing: You do not bash anyone for their beliefs. If you believe you should watch a LP of a game and think that should give you a good enough idea if you will like it or not then you are more than welcome to say that, but if your view opposes someone else's that let's say, for the sake of the example, that someone believes a LP does not give an accurate representation of the game and you should pirate it to get the most accurate representation then you simply say you disagree and say why. You do not say something like "You're a total moron for thinking that" or other hateful things. However, I do know that arguments do get heated and you may say something you may regret, and if this is the case then please apologize. This is a topic is very heavily discussed both in the real world and the world of the internet.... And no matter what kind of arguments may or may not arise in this topic, please do not allow them to affect your view on the person. Now that that's out of the way, who wishes to start the discussion? ^^
  6. Rain barrels are fixed in .16 aren't they? I haven't tried yet so idk.
  7. ...From the variety of opinions... I think maybe it's time for a brightness setting?
  8. Loved Lion as well, both of them are very good games. But I played much more Wolf than Lion
  9. It's not like anyone is forcing you to use it if it's a sandbox option, and there are many zombie things that suggest zombies come out at night/are very inactive until night. Take The Walking Dead for example, probably most popular zombie TV show (I don't even know if there are others) and zombies aren't really active at day, but during the night the streets are crawling with them.
  10. Awww, man.... Make me feel like a dick for sticking up for your original idea Any chance we might get a knife noise reduction while your at it? If I may elaborate.... The default hot keys are 1-(Swinging weapon), 2-(Stabbing weapon), 3-(Guns). Given this, one could assume that stabbing weapons were intended to serve a different purpose to other melee weapons. Now that instant kills have been removed from knives & knives create just as much sound as a swinging weapon, they serve no other purpose than to be a "bad" melee weapon to get you through until you find a better one. Reducing the noise created by a knife would mean you could take out 1 or 2 Zeds without alerting others as you would with a swinging weapon.... Balance Perhaps stabbing/bladed weapons will be used to cut NPCs throats in the future? Where as bashing an NPCs head in would generate much more noise, cutting their throat would be the most silent way of taking them out. This is speculation though, I could be very far off.
  11. I read some of that, not all of it... I started getting confused with the whole "Humans can't tell which general direction gun shots come from" and "Yes they can" arguments... But yea i'm not cool with a silhouette, i'm all for some other indication though (something that I feel would benefit those that have impaired hearing as they call it) like say something similar to WOLF just instead of being able to hear down to the 1/8 (I think there were eight directions you could hear/see/smell from?) it would take 3 of WOLF's spaces. So let's say in WOLF you would have heard something directly north of you, in WOLF you would be able to see it was directly north of you. But in PZ (if they were to use this) You would only be able to see it was North of you, with a chance of it being off. So where as in WOLF it would have only used the North spot, in PZ it would use the NE, N, and NW spots until you got closer to it. Making sense? I really hope so
  12. Who would ever expect a cute little Spiffo in a game that simulates starvation and depression? Dunno, I kinda like it - sorta like PIP Boy from Fallout It's VAULT Boy. Not PIP Boy. Pip Boy is the name of your wrist contraption. I believe he called him Pip Boy because it's easiest to remember him from your Pip Boy since you do see him on it quite often. ^^

This would be a good mod I think, although as is stated quite a bit of work. However... You are assuming everyone would be looking as the pessimistic side of things.... I know people who look at nothing but the optimistic side of things. So instead of "Another year in this hell" They may think "I survived another year of this, I should be grateful" And instead of thinking about how things were in the past during holidays they may just be thankful for the shelter and food they have.
  14. And that comment made me think of weeping angels ._. That would be a total overhaul kinda mod though I think, because they wouldn't be zombies at all they would be angels. And you wouldn't even be able to defend yourself against them unless you had NPCs because they can move as long as they are not seen. The moment they are seen though they turn to stone.
  15. Perhaps so, but if your safe house extends past just one house (such as an entire street, which has been done in much earlier versions and maybe even the more recent versions) would it automatically set a parameter for that? If so how would it detect that you want to use that area as a safe zone so to speak. Perhaps it detects that you have walled in the street and only way in is through a door/window? (by that I mean no open gaps in the wall) I suppose that would be possible but wouldn't it be easier and more versatile to let players choose their own parameters, in case you want them patrolling in area outside of your safe house or safe zone?
  16. That's very much like what I was thinking of, I never thought of it as negotiating...
  17. seeing your videos makes me want to record some PZ, but i'm sick and my throat is killing me (not to mention my nose is running like a freight train) so I can't record... :c I'll settle for watching your videos though ^^
  18. Sheet ropes, for me, are a last ditch effort. Only time I would use them is when my safe house is overrun and i'm about to get mauled by a horde. Back when molotovs were in the game I would throw one down a hall way just before I climbed out of the window, so that way even though i'm losing a majority of my supplies I still have my life and, hopefully, I take out a horde.
  19. if you need water to live why waste it on a moat? Do moats necessarily have to have water to be a moat? Why not a dry moat? I suppose that would essentially be a deep trench that is hard to get out of though.
  20. When you lure them away with a shotgun it may also be bringing some to you, making it totally contradictory. Try yelling at them instead (Q if I remember right) It still lures them away but not as loud as a weapon. And walls are always a good idea anyway.
  21. Does keeping fed and medicated help to fight off the infection at all? And this is the place I'm trying to set up at: http://pzmap.crash-override.net/#0.5130190926716138,0.40118481221221103,102.66666666666669 I'm trying to figure out how I can set up a farm without a bunch of zombies mauling me. I think I might build a wall from the upper corner of the garage (so it encases the garage door) and lead it up to the corner of the house in a box formation. Doing that would give me room for a small farm and a few rain collectors I hope... It's amazing you survived all that though, it's really impressive :3
  22. What I'm thinking is being able to designate a certain area as a parameter of sort. For example, if you want to set up an area as 'safe' (such as in player made walls surrounding a house) you could manually designate it. I'm not sure if the does this automatically or not. Perhaps you can place down invisible flags of some sort or something similar to make a patrol route of sorts. For example, placing down flag 1 (or point 1 or whatever) would signal the beginning of the route. Placing down flag/point 2 would tell any NPCs that are patrolling that route in your group to go from point 1 to point 2, and so on until you reach the last one which you can then connect back to point 1. I imagine if this were done it would be something such as Point 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, etc. and then you want to set up a different set of points it can be something like 1B, 2B, 3B, and so on. Or perhaps point 1-1, 2-1, 3-1, etc. and then for the second route 1-2, 2-2, 3-2, etc. The first 1 would signal the first point in the sequence of points where as the -1 (or -2 or -3 etc.) signals which set of points it belongs to. This would keep the points from being limited by the alphabet, as you could go up to an infinite number of them if you so wished (for whatever reason) so you could have something like point 1-1000.
  23. I eat whatever I can find or, more commonly, buy. I tend to play as an artifact hunter and, even though some people would be embarrassed of this, I create a little RP in my head. I wish there was a mod though that geared more toward the artifact hunting, since I find that to be the funnest part of the game. The suspense of finding out if the artifact that you just nearly died for and totally trashed your armor is worth it? Perhaps it's some really great artifact like a bubble? Or maybe something that's essentially worthless, such as a battery. I find artifact hunting extremely fun. I would also like to see if a mod ever concentrates on artifacts for any kind of artifact to be found, such as a compass although they would be really rare. My lil rant I suppose. :3 But there are plenty STALKER fans here I think
  24. I understand that the grid system is a good easy thing to do, but to be honest I like the inventory system as it is now. I believe there are others in the community that feel the same way... And I rather like how the health screen is apart from the inventory system, it keeps me form having to pull up my inventory just to see if i'm scratched or bitten. However... As a mod, I think it would be rather enjoyable to many people (not myself though, sorry guys. ) But of course if you wanted you could, in a sense, have something similar to a combo of the grid and weight system. You could set items to have mass, and a bag (and your person) can carry only a certain amount of mass. I hope this makes sense to more people than just me...
  25. Yea. I would actually rather enjoy seeing the ability to have certain dialog options set to hotkeys. Such as when you see an npc instead of having to go through a menu or whatever you just press a key and whatever that key is assigned to you will say it. Such as pressing f1 or something to tell an NPC to drop their weapon/gear or something like that.
