    Board Games (v1.2)

Thats why playing the games has a negative impact on your happiness I'm absolutely shit at modding if i'm entirely honest I'm confident adding items and recipes but features? nope I think there IS a deck of cards in the game they just currently dont do anything

    Board Games (v1.2)

New from Tooks Corp comes, Board Games! Tired of having nothing but books to alleviate boredom? Now you can play popular board games such as Monopoly, Scrabble or Spiffos Quest! Just remember that playing board games by yourself can get a bit saddening at times. Features: ScreenShots: Known Issues: How to Install Locate your zomboid mods directory (not in steam/desura, it is commonly located in C:\Users\YourUser\Zomboid\mods) and extract the archive into that directory. Open your game and enable the mod using the Mod loader, restart your client and enjoy!
  4. Activities that remove boredom, such as doodling, journals and reading books also help recover unhappiness
  5. No one deserves greatness more than the indie stone in my eyes. Having met them in person in June I can honestly say they are amongst the friendliest and most down to earth people ive had the honour of meeting. Ive only been a part of the community since January but this forum is a place I come daily. I see you all more often than I see some members of my family and this is something I dont want to change. Other developers claim to care about their communities but none ive met come down to the communities level. None other make you feel like an equal, like a friend. I wish you guys all the best for the launch. Its been a roller coaster getting here and the ride is far from over!
  6. I can't wait to see it will be exciting to see if the footage I sent to lemmy will make its way in
  7. After posting in this topic I actually took to the suggestion forums with a relationship chart idea, it didnt get much positive response though Probably due to how far off NPCs are. Don't lose heart though. A group relations web similar to how zafehouse diaries works would be great. Charting the general disposition group members have with every other group member. Larger groups would be hard to keep track of your standings with people so something like that will be needed. Even if it only gave a general estimate of your standings with others and their standings with the rest of the group based on gossip you have listened to or events you have actually seen. Thats actually the inspiration for the idea too. Fucking love that game. Only i'd prefer it if you were not omnipresent to everyones feelings and instead the relationship web was based off upon observed/known relationships

  9. I like this, mainly because I'm pretty sure I was once partial to a conversation with Lemmy in which he said the meta-game in CK2 was an influence for what thry want from the NPC Meta-game
  10. Precisely! I know the devs are trying to keep the UI minimal but I have a feeling that the UI for NPC Leadership/interactive isnt going to be minimal itself. Nothing like the 3 facial buttons we had in the old builds that simply controlled if you'd say hello like a dick or like someone nice.
  11. It was reading/posting in that thread that gave me this idea, hence coming to the suggestions section with it I know what you're saying but I guess I misexplained myself, it wouldn't be a 'this is how the feel about you' it would be a 'this is how I think they feel about me' kinda chart. The chart would be about observations so if an npc is actively friendly towards you the chart would show friendly. They could be secretly plotting to kill you but if they're being nice to you, you wouldn't know. I was more thinking of the chart so you could keep track of your NPC group, asking your NPC group how things are/how everyone is feeling would reveal relationship issues which the chart would keep track of etc.
  12. I've been thinking a bit about the NPC Updates and you might already have something like this planned but I personally think it'd be nice if you had a UI Chart showing relationships between yourself, NPCs and possibly for Other NPCs (would be beneficial to those who planned to try and lead NPC groups). The way I see it working would be like this... In the center of the chart would be an icon representing yourself. At the start of the game nothing else would be on this chart. When you come into contact with an npc (Note: Contact does not mean you've spoken to them it just means your character has seen an NPC) they appear on the chart. If you've spoken to the NPC a line will connect to that NPC on the chart The colour of this line would determine your known relationship with this NPC so negative relationships would appear more red and positive more green. These varying lines would be able to filtered out to show specific information such as all the NPCs that have a positive relationship with your character. You should also be able to filter out NPCs who you know to be dead. Additionally if you observe or hear about other npcs actions with each other, for example you see two npcs acting friendly or arguing then the relative relationship lines will be on the chart between those two NPCs. So for example, you observe NPC1 being nice to NPC2, a green line (with arrows indicating the direction) shows on the chart between these two NPCs. Later you over hear NPC2 talking to NPC3 about how much she can't stand NPC1, NPC1's line doesnt change because she's not aware of this conversation but the a line (with an arrow indicating towards NPC1) shows up on the chart to indicate NPC2's relationship with NPC1. You would be able to filter the chart by NPC so you could see a specific NPC's relationships with everyone (including yourself). However relationships change, but your knowledge of them would, unless you kept up tabs on your friends you could be under the impression they all love each other when really they're about to rip each others heads off. If you've ever played Zafehouse Diaries, the concept is similar to the way you track relationships in that game, only in this concept the chart updates when you become aware of the changes, your character shouldn't be omnipotent when it comes to knowing everyones feelings
  13. Considering the Size of some buildings this could be really good even before suvivor settlements come into play (how freaked out would you be to come across an actual woodbury like settlement? or somewhere like the 'winter' section of Last of Us... *shivers*) Also based on what Lemmy says that after the coding is done Will and Ringo will be able to add in new dialogue events and all that jazz with little to no coding, I can imagine the modding community will be doing the same. Expect some content from me in that regards if its as easy as it sounds
  14. I think that getting shot should have a small chance of killing you instantly (headshot) and depending on where a bullet hits you you'll bleed out (if it's in the torso you're most likely going to die) however I think you should be able to survive gunshots, depending on where they hit (your shooting skill will determine this) Personally I think this risk of getting stabbed in the back is what will make the NPC's interesting, will you trust people? Will you shoot on sight? If an NPC sneaks into your room and kills you, that's just what happens - in my opinion the game shouldn't make you any different from an NPC, anything you can do to them can be done to you without warning. And I don't expect too much from the NPCs, I hope for these things but I understand the limitations, if done right these NPC's will be the most advanced in any game from what we're hearing. -GodWaffle I don't know, I recall lemmy saying something along the lines of if you come across an already established group of survivors do not expect to waltz in and become their leader. For this to happen you'd need atleast a decent complexity to their AI and how they behave with each other. The way I understand it is that NPCs will have personalities (of which I imagine there would be a set amount) and their own individual trust levels etc and certain personalities will get on better with others and trust others (or not) so to become a group leader of an already established NPC group you'd need to prove your worth. Though I imagine it'd be possible to find NPCs not already in groups and recruit them and build up your own group. Though, I doubt group management is going to be easy and personally I'm going to be looking to join a group of NPCs as a follower not a leader. This. I feel it would be a great way to play the game as not being the 'main character', going out on runs with others and having to make on-the-spot choices - You can imagine if you leave someone's best friend/partner to the zombies, that person would want to exact revenge on you (assuming they know you did it), and you'd have to deal with that. I imagine going out with 2-3 npcs that people back at base give a shit about and coming back alone would cause a few of those npcs to lose trust with you despite what happened. They won't know because they werent there all they'll know is the people they care about are now dead and you're not

  16. The persistent could kill a Zed with a spoon if he so chose
  17. Do early access titles appear in coming soon? To me coming soon indicates full releases :s
  18. and you want me to play with you guys? I'm already having trust issues
  19. You're hurting nobody by trying this game seeing as its free I like that it has child zombies in it though, I understand the development stance behind it. The developers WANT you to take a moment to pause for thought before you cap a child zombie. You're supposed to feel guilty, you're supposed to be disgusted. Telltales The Walking Dead approached killing children and also the subject of child zombies and did it well. I don't recall there being controversy over that game, in fact all I ever hear about it is how great the story is (because it is)
  20. So if he doesnt like it we get to sacrifice him to the dragon lords right? Welcome new player, I hope your journeys in kentucky are long and prosperous
  21. probably the best feedback for a horror game is "I had to do # because your game scared the shit out of me"
