  1. I dont like anticipation threads because it reminds me of this: https://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php?/topic/16560-the-patch-33-anticipation-theoretical-gambling-thread/ But if i have to take a very wild guess of a estimation with everything i learn so far, maybe we might see glimps of NPCs around November of next year at the current pace, i really don't see animations coming any sooner than around December of this year (and i mean that as in a very hopeful way, i dont expect them until a much later date), if so i expect to see them out to the public until Feb 2018 and afterwards probably some more stuff like wild life or some other X thing they have in the backburner, NPCs would probably get shafted into late 2018~2019.

    Over where?

Dang it, i had high hopes to see the animations after build 39 but i guess that aint happening yet. But overall a lot of progress has been made, cant wait to see vehicles on stable.
  3. Are the timezones correct this time? Last time i recall a lot of people were confused with those and everyone was like "i am late", "i am early", "lag help oh god i ded"
  4. Mafia 1 had vehicles where you needed to change gears, if you were driving uphill, you were fucked if you were not in 1 or 2nd gear. Mafia 2 had a speed limiter that lets you chose the speed you wanted to go in the speed gauge, maybe PZ could have something like that?

As much as i would love to see the damn animations out, right now they have their hands full of everything. Vehicles seems to have been stagnated for updates right now and they MAY merge into IWBUMS next month or so when they are a bit more stable and the current IWBUMS seems to have broken some stuff while introducing more broken stuff like the flies bug and they really need to rebalance the whole corpse smell killing you and the rooftops that dont let you see anything when you walk under them. Both of that is very heavy and hard to balance and fix already, they will get it right eventually but imagine adding on top of all of that the animations that no doubt will be broken and will cause a chaos of low FPS, breaking the game and all kinds of shenanigans. Better to wait to clean up both IWBUMS and then wait and see what happens with the animations.
  6. Why not starting by saying that the chopper is coming? In the news we see that they set up the perimeter and shit around day 5-7 and they mention the helicopters flying low, but there must be a way to make sure the player watches the TV and sees that the helicopters are going to enter the zone just as a heads up. I guess the problem relies on that there is no direct way to convey that the helicopter means death to the player until it happens and that the player wont know how to exploit it. Maybe Baldspot could cover as a tutorial that the helicopter will bring a horde up and about with you watching from inside the house a NPC running by followed by the helicopter and begin followed by a horde.
  7. This along the flies problem was my main complain from this IWBUMS right now. Seriously the roof update is nice and all since i can see what the buildings look like now, but there is no reason whatsoever to have the roof cover your character and give you a very small hole of view to work with, going into a gas station was stuff of nightmares because i couldnt tell what was in front of me or where the damn pumps were in mere seconds of looting. In my opinion they need to remove having the roof covering your line of sight of your character, i just cant stand it.
  8. Wait, how come 8 PM BST is the same as 8 PM CET? Wouldn't that be 7 PM GMT, 8 PM BST and 9 PM CET?
  9. Finally TV programs do something! Also, if its not intended to die (because come on everyone would die by corpses instead of actual shambeling corpses), then whats the intended effect? Be ill and have nausea? Can it get to a point that you get used to the smell? Does standing inside a house with lets say 5 corpses inside intensifies the ill effect? Also last thing, is there any type of visual que outside of the soon animations to know your clothes are bloodied up? If the zombies go for a groin shot like they always do, i will have to change pants?

Where is the love for canndles though? The one item we cant place, yet in any case of emergency is indispensable to have a light source. Also talking about sickness, i am wondering what type of sickness we are talking about here. When you get dried blood in your clothes and after a while you get a wound, you would get infected or would get an infection? (Zombie vs Normal infection). Also last and not least, IF the vehicle tech is ready to go because Jesus himself came down from heaven, touched the TIS dev work and everything works correctly, is that tech going to be merged into IWBUMS 38 or it will have its own IWBUMS?
  11. Look man, you are asking for a feature for a gamemode that is totally optional so players can play the way they want, aka not the Devs vision. Why would they go out of their way to add something like that where those resources could be spent on other stuff? Also part of the whole "Oh man the world is going to shit and is going to spread out and no one can stop it" is because the lack of internet and all of that fancy stuff, imagine if you add laptops or cellphones, this event would have been contained more quickly in some other way. Also i am 100% sure that when vehicles hit stable, one of the first mods are going to be something along the lines of making fuel or electric cars.
  12. So what is the idea to do it then? How will you give the player the option to fix their car? And how you will hotwire a car too? I doubt that killing random zombies for the key of a car is going to work, hot wire is going to be the most useful skill, but how it will work? Begin locked behind a profession or as a trait (that probably is going to become one that every character must have)
  13. Same thing is going to happen with chainsaws when they are added, people are going to try to kill zombies with them and are probably going to get themselves killed and using it is going to be suicide because of the noise (i still cant figure out for the life of me how to barricade windows and doors with planks without attracting the attention of a horde) Right now the only use i can see for cars are moving between very far away bases (all those damn farms that took 4 or 5+ minutes of walking aka all the god damn morning of the game) to the main city. But before doing that, you could try to use another car to clear a part of the city, hop in, drive into whatever place you want to go, example from downtown of WP to the bridge of WP, get out of the car, back to downtown though the forest, loot what you need, get in the car and drive back to farm. However i am sure the devs will nerf the car sounds since a lot of players are complaining about it, still when people say "cars are not loud", you are comparing your daily lives with the live of the game, where there are no machines, no humans, no anything else other than low moans here and there, if you ever have been in a ranch, you can hear a car passing though a road miles away.
  14. I am going to give a wild guess and say that eventually zombies are going to be able to climb over vehicles and jump to the other side of them in case there is no other way around? I cant imagine the clusterfuck that the first weeks are going to be when the NPCs are out and able to drive vehicles and also use shotguns, its going to be impossible to move around (which is going to be fun.)
  15. Funny enough that is the same reason i stopped coming to the forums and hide even the game from steam for a while now (after trying it to play it just felt really unstable with the NPC mod and vehicles mod), it really feels like a cycle of features looming over the horizon that never come, the animations and vehicles were first showcased at the same month. i think around Feb 2016 they were first showcased and vehicles in Feb 2017 too, it amazing how they both seem very familiar. Both show incredible progress towards release, everything seems to be in order and then nothing, i was so sure that at the mid-end of summer 2016 we would have the animations because all the mondoids pointed towards a release and then some features here and there were added like the gore and modding tools and complications all around, i wouldn't make such a fuzz about this if the animations were feature completed (sneak, cover) but they wont be, they are just a shadow in each mondoid (that after reading 4 mondoids in a row, they were kinda similar, but still in dev-time sometimes nothing spectacular happens). I wouldnt even bet my money at the end of the summer, if we are lucky we will see them by November or December plus all the IWBUMS time needed to be ready for public, very early 2018. I will check progress by the end of the summer to see if we got some light into the animations or not, but i doubt we will even see a release of them by summer.

Alright this is a first time for me. I wont bug you asking for a bit more depth explanation on whats going on with the animations anymore, but seriously, a warning? I didn't expect that from the moderators of this community, but oh well, things happen. See you folks in a couple of months.

The word hype shouldnt have been used in my post but its the most common word used around here. What i meant is that i dont really care about vehicles right now because i know they will take a long time to come and i know that the animations need to be eventually merged between those features, that is what i care the most about, where do they fall, waiting for the animations (thing that the devs dont want to do) or are going to be out first before the animations (thing that will delay the animations). Whats going on with them other than "work continues".

Maybe vehicles can work as cupboards? We already saw the animation of a zombie going though a window, crawling a bit in the board and falling into the floor, so that could work. Also for the love of god give us something a bit more indepth about the animations, what does "animation work" even mean by now, we already saw the exporting/importing animations for like 2 months and nothing came out of it, we saw the LUA change replacing the old system with the new system, the replacement of the "bit", "scratch" old system and the smoothing of transition while player rotates. Why not explain what is going to happen first? The animations or vehicle (no ETA) because they cannot co-exist, they must merge sooner or later and all the testing that goes into the vehicles is going to be null when the animations kicks in (in my opinion), are they begin merged together? is that the animation work we hear about? I cant get hyped about vehicles because of this reason, i just see this feature as Animations 2.0 because this is exactly how the animation hype started out.
  19. I do wonder if we are going to be able to make models in blender and export them to PZ. I do recall something like that but i dont remember well what it was, but i am sure someone will mod that feature in. Be able to tell what weapon a character is carrying and what he can shot your ass with is important (NPCs and Players alike, even Rust added that to the game now)
  20. I know that there is a difference and a big one, but you compared it to publishing a book and "not patching it later"per say, the whole point of early acess is to test things out and patch them out. Animations became something else entirely where they really dont want to show that feature in a broken state (we already saw the nightmare fuel once) and i respect that, but the way you described it was like there was not going to be a patch afterwards because they been polishing it up, which is a lie because the animations from what i can tell have been rebooted 3 times by now in different systems (of how they work and the type of branches). Is kinda weird, last time we heard about them it was the usual "progress on the animations continues" since Feb 20 and then radio silence because they started to show the maps and vehicles. Last time we had radio silence on the animations it lasted 1 month, lets see how much this lasts and someone asked if the animations were frozen and nasKo replied telling them that they are not. Lets just wait for other news and see what happens.
  21. That would be great, but how do you manage happiness? Having great food, entertained (reading books, magazines and newspapers can get you so far) and what else? We dont have VHS yet to watch movies, neither hot water to simulate a bath to rise up morale and neither music players to listen to music and raise it up (or NPCs to talk with and not feel so lonely) Maybe adding happiness elements to hobbies could work? Like if you take the gardening hobby you could get a small amount of happiness while farming or taking care of your plants, baseball player could take a bat and a baseball and just shot the damn thing in his rooftop small things to make you happy. I recall the last time i was depressed in a character (long time ago now jesus), i ate like fucking 20 lolipops or something along those lines and suddenly i was better, i just imagine my character dropping the depression like a mic while walking out with diabetes type 2.
  22. I get your point, yet again, we are in Early Acess, the animations wont be feature completed (lack of stealth), it will probably going to run a IWBUMS for 1 to 3 months (aka no new feature creep probably for that amount of time) and the IWBUMS will be part of the SP branch, not the MP branch. Your point would stand only if the animations came bug free, no IWBUMS and with both SP/MP, believe me, the animations are going to be very patch heavy. Good point, i dont really see the point of this thread, the hype has been reignited around 8 times or more thought the space of 1 year and 2 months by now, the devs knows that the community wants the animations and they are waiting like hungry wolves to jump at them (either the animations or the devs). What i am seeing right now is a pattern, we are having a radio silence about the animations but vehicles show up, around the same time the animations showed up for the first time back in 2016, the same time that creative mode went completely silent other than "we are working on it", the whole vehicle features are giving me a deja vu of the animations right now. Hyping something up can only lead to disappointment by this point, i would say that this thread should be left alone, there is nothing left to discus about the animations that havent been discussed in 2016 and it only opens up fresh wounds, reminds me of the anticipation threads of people taking bets on what month the animations were going to go out. I just really expect and hope that the animations are going to be out at earliest between July and September and the vehicles between November or December.

Gas pumps are not unlimited m8, like even if you get them back online, sooner or later they will run dry.

    Here In My Car

Unless you are going full speed into a very flismy brick wall and you have a very durable car, most of the cases the car would get rekt before going though a brick wall (but i hope we can go though fences) But it is possible to go though a brick wall with a car, however you probably wont be able to tell that story because you are going to be dead. I really wasnt expecting the car on car collision, it looked quite nice too, which makes me think, is it physics based or just animation. Speaking off... How is the animations and car branches going to work though? I expected to see the animations in the vehicles video, but it seems its using the old framework, which means that they are not merged. So is that going to be an extra load to add into the animation update?
