  5. Could we not still just give guys like Teesee my spreadsheet so they can at least start working on it in terms of the raw translation, before you've done your WordZed format stuff?

I'd imagine that everyone will have their own speeds, gather their own collaborators and whatnot... so I think it might be best if we just play it by ear and see what happens rather than lock it to a particular build. What did we end up saying last time on the subject? That community translators can do their usual thing, but with the caveat that we plan in future get a general proofread across all languages by a localization company to maintain consistency - but that said company will be given strict instructions to tweak/streamline work rather than rewrite? Unless, of course, the translation turns out to be lower quality than we thought - which I'm sure the community will probably have let us know about anyway, and would clearly be unlikely when we've got good guys on the case. And credits to community translators would still have a higher billing etc too.

I've nudged RJ about the translation thing, so hopefully he'll be on it in the morning - although maybe it's an EP thing so if it's in his ballpark then maybe later tonight RE: Radio/TV translations I update the spreadsheet for a final time tomorrow before the 33 release with a few corrections and minor lore tweaks to prevent misunderstandings. In a perfect world I'd keep stuff encrypted for a few builds beyond that, just to slow down spoiler posts among the non-IWBUMS people, but I see no reason why not to send the relevant files to translators like yourself Teesee once I've done my last spreadsheet update? I'll ask Turbo what the best way to do that is. I'm not sure whether you'd need WordZed to work with too etc

  13. I'll suggest it to Turbo - it was discussed before but I can't remember what was said. The capital letters idea is a great one too though. I'd like to see that in.

  15. initial Infection will have three earlier broadcasts - so new 'news' but will reuse content on entertainment channels a bit. After that The First Week stuff begins. Survival is everything straight through from The First Week. So there'll be content in there after five months etc before Six Months Later content begins. Survivor stuff in Six Months Later is planned to be a bit more untied from the timeline though - a bit more random. There is some scripted stuff there now though - which hopefully works!
  16. Nope, sorry - I've actually asked that the text is encoded for now so people can't do this. I'd much rather people enjoy it in-situ, as it's written to be read in-game and with all the other content running simultaneously. If anyone were to do this, over the next couple of weeks until it's released to translators at least, I'd probably politely ask that it isn't put on any of TIS or PZ forums/sites. There's just too much to be spoiled in there, and I was writing it for... six months? Maybe more. I'd hate that someone could just spend a few hours reading it all.
  17. Oh, and in case anyone was wondering - the first three timeslots (so 18 hours of the first day) in the Initial Infection scenario are currently blank. Filling that in is on my 'to do' list, and I'll hopefully get it into an update before the end of the week. The First Week currently has TV and Radio operational for the first week or so, while you'll find radio lasts a little longer that the TV. Six Months Later, meanwhile, also contains radio signals. There's also radio stuff in-between on the First Week and Survival timeline iirc. I'm surprised no-one's noticed the various community references and in-jokes yet, but I guess everyone's too tuned into the news channels at the mo and isn't looking at the more frivolous stuff
  18. Turbo informs that text should be a bit slower in 33.1, so if you guys could see if it's improved at all for you then it would be much appreciated.

  20. We had a problem in testing when people playing on 60fps would get it running way too quick - I *think* Turbo fixed it but I'll get him to double-check. Otherwise yeah we can deffo slow it down. I wonder if maybe a slider in the options would help too - as maybe non-native English speakers would currently need extra time to translate it in their heads.
