  1. your not really trying to demand something again, are you?

or trying to tell the Devs what to do with the game, what they should or should not have in the game?

i hope you're not doing that, but rather stating an opinion.

because that would be more Lovely

    Oh now don't be drab.

I was simply dealing with some... relationship related anger... it'll be revised shortly.

  2. currently, generators are useless shortly after the power goes out, which was the whole point of having them, to get technology up and running.

Now as you see, all it does is let you slightly extend the time the power stays on to about 15 gas cans a month, which i know you won't be able to find that many of.

I don't even acknowledge generators because they're so futile right now.

Can't get new fuel for them by the time you start to use them, since i don't think people use generators when the power is on :P

Currently waiting in the dark for it to be added or modded like  :-|  lol
Please add this within build 32... It would open up so many options for base building later down the line.
imagine huge fortresses surrounded by electric fences.... being overloaded by zombies and the fences turning off! Oh boy i can't wait!

  3. Basically, you break into tears which zombies can track you by, hear you, and it's hard to stop.

You auto drink alcohol as you do water, and will get increased hunger and thirst., like 3 times hungrier and thirstier.

Giving us a reason to stay happy essentially

  4. The devs could remedy this by Adding constructable solar panels.

if the spawn count of electronics becomes common like in real life 90's, you could get a bunch of solar panels off of caluclators from the schools and offices. And just daisy chain them together, gluing them to a piece of wood, hook it up to a car battery. And use that battery to power an outlet extracted from a wall, then plug whatever you want in.
Maybe, say, 100 calculators worth of solar panels = 100 minutes to charge battery completely...
    Electrician would suddenly be viable.
As another thing, you can make it so if you leave it out in the rain it gets ruint forever.

I'm sorry, but according to Brooks lore, explosives are largely ineffective.

According to brooks lore zombies don't punch you, which they do in this game when you don't get bit or scratched but take damage.

Also bodyshots should make crawlers, because if you damage the spinal nerve the undead brain cannot command the legs to walk :P

Same reason a decapitated zombie body does not carry it's head around in it's arms

And imma make a living infected mod.

I will take the damage scripts of npcs and add it to zombies. so bullets and bombs regain effectiveness.

But i will make them sprinters with insane numbers to make it hard again.

"When zombies first began to trickle down the freeway, the opening salvos were fired - two MLRS rocket barrages which destroyed a significant percentage of the first wave but ultimately made few kills zombies with limbs and torsos blown off could still advance so long as they had an intact brain and some means to drag themselves forward. As the undead became more tightly packed, the MLRS lost effectiveness, with the thick swarms of zombies reducing the possibility of a head wound significantly. The second barrage came from M109 Paladin artillery stationed on a hill to the rear of the infantry. They fired fragmentation shells which had even less of an effect than the MLRS barrages. The artillery strikes depended on the "balloon effect," which by proximity to an explosion would cause the liquid in the victim's body to burst. This did not occur, however, because of the zombie's coagulated blood. Therefore, SNT (Sudden Nerve Trauma), which "just shuts down vital organs like God flickin' a light switch," did not happen either."

That is from World War Z, zombies are motherfucking magic man.

In fact i would love that the lore of PZ had some winks at Voodoo or some demon thing on  TV, like Dawn of the dead (remake) where a doctor is saying that the infection is because of the hygiene of people mouths, and something about stress and the infections are just riots, i would love to be hiding out in my base watching TV and then getting some theory of "Sum motherfucker is using Voodoo and now we are getting infections and shieets"

The zombies you are thinking about are most likely 28 days later kind of infected, where a bomb could do wonders against those.

But what made Romero and Brook lore zombies scary is that they are very persistent, they never get tired, they never stop coming if you shot them in the body, if you hack their arms or legs they will try to still eat you somehow, bomb them and you are going to end up with crawlers or just a zombie with no limbs.

Watch the movie The Dead from 2010, is most likely the last movie with real Romero zombies (Night of the living dead tier), you can get a very good feeling of how they work.

Thats what i'm looking to play with.

A more realistic alternative, like a fast acting rabies that prevents infectees from attacking eachother. That would produce identical results to the rage virus.

Your whole argument is based on the use of one word in a programming context? Good for you, I guess.

    Good luck with the mod.

Thanks but ive got alot of research to do. and waiting... Hopefully an early test of npcs becomes available soon.

  7. Yeah I'm not talking about tanks. I'm taking about hitting zombies with the kitchen sink, smashing a window over someone's head, Throwing a bedside lamp at the undead etc.

I think tanks should be around, you can get inside, but you completely rick grimes it and can't drive it cause you dunno how.

Like showing a caveman a car, they might sit, but they'd just immedatly crash into a wall or tree.

  8.

I'm sorry, but according to Brooks lore, explosives are largely ineffective.

Which makes sense, what kills & injures people when there's an explosions are debris flying all over the place, leading to massive bleeding and critical injuries. If zombies aren't close enough to have their heads blown off, they'll most likely just lose some parts, have some stuff sticking out of their bodies, or just get stuck under debris.

So you're saying the concussive force of a bomb does no damage to a person? A thermobaric bomb does wonders against cities, and it uses no shrapnel.

Many bombs are just used to exert massive pressure on the nearby people making their bodies pop with the pressure.

  10. I'm sorry, Leet, but I really don't get why this matters that much.

Romero/Brooks zombies don't breathe and don't appear to have any real-world mode of propulsion. They just are.

Gasing them, drowning them, exploding them, and doing things that typically work on humans isn't going to affect them in the same way, or at all.

Shame you don't find that fun.

Blowing zombies up kills them if you have good enough aim, or a big enough bomb.

I hope the devs add in large ordinances

like stockpile firecrackers and make sticks of dynamite, adding a pyrotechnician profession.

make bombs with nails and broken glass in them to shred anything nearby, and be able if you can amass materials, to make bombs capable of bringing down entire culdesacs of houses and hundreds of zeds. however the chance of underestimating or overestimating the power of the bomb could easily kill you.

special force ops are trained how to make IEDs out of cleaning materials like clorox :P

Make that a profession someday :P

  11.

I don't think zombies give 2 fucks about gas at all, they are walking corpses, maybe for NPC suvivors it would be a great idea to wait till they are asleep, put a generator inside their safehouse and start it.

TECHnically cells need oxygen to produce energy to move, even if their cells absorb it directly, things like cyanide will work in a gas form.

Technically zombies could be because of voodoo doctors, demons, or a wizard.

You don't get to play the "technically" card with zombies.

Magical zombies are no fun then.

And pz is not very magical other than the fact that its on a planet where knox county exists, then the whole rest of the world is a highways to further out in infinite forests.

  13. when the dev team really gets the ball rolling after npcs and cars and the army arrives....

I think there should be a reality mode option or mod.

Zombies can't break through walls by pounding, however if enough pile up on it they can push it over with sheer force.

every house has realistic amounts of objects. meaning many knives, tools, over 200 possible outfits if you wanna crossdress too, many devices, ect.

You have to regulary use the restroom in a place separate than what you go near and to sterilize hands afterwards, or risk cholera and the like. No animation, just have a meter for "waste' and when it's full you will do it on the spot.

Also the smell of the waste attracts zombies. so be sure to bury it.

Soldiers may be shot to gain their assault rifles. If you can manage to not get shot yourself or alert the whole unit.

Depression has effects on everything, increasing hunger, auto drinking alcohol nearby, and your character will regularly burst into tears, blurring vision and lowering awareness.
Zombies will scream and fling themselves against doors and ramming them instead of headbutting and gurgling.

The military regularly conducts firebombings with napalm and snipers will start roosting up as the game progresses.

This, coupled with sprinters with insane numbers with 28 days later settings, = GOTY in my opinon.
It'd be a Super hard mode.
Also zombies are living infected so they will die from bodyshots.
No clean running for zombies, discheveled, crazed uneasy steps all over the place, crooked back, like that of a rage virus zombie.
You'd be lucky to not die  in a blind panic trying to outrun them when you first start.

Zombies die of fire FAR faster than they do now, but slightly slower than you do, because they don't feel pain.
But as a added un bonus, they won't just catch on fire unless doused in flamable shit. Zombies aren't made out of charcoal after all.

I want to try to dominate this mode while dying over and over again but not because the zombies get bullshit superpowers like being immune to fire and shit, but because humans are designed to kill eachother.

  14. I think we should be able to use menstrual pads as makeshift bandages.

They have all the components you need.

at least i think they're adhesive.

if not, we can use tape to bond them to skin.

  15. It would be cool to have your character make noises in response to things.

Like stomache growling when hungry, a sneeze and cough sound to correspond with the subtitles. Hyperventalating when exausted, And a voiced protagonist with 7 separate voices each for male and female,
You could do it completely for free, i'm sure some fans and other devs would be willing to give their voices.

  16.

    Second that.

Its quite strange that the game gives us the population of the starting cities but at the same time no matter how many you kill you never make your area safe.

I mean, if you kill around 1000+ zombies that should make a diference in the spawn rate of the area you are.

Ahem.. Welcome to the Zombapocalypse my friend  -_-

I don't think that in real life the Zedz would happilly leave you alone when they::

1- hear hammer banging nails into wood,

2- hear and feel trees being chopped down (I've myself IRL chainsawed a bunch of trees as a side job and they sure make a shitton of noise when they fall and the earth also vibrates a shit ton while they fall)

3- Smell that beautifully rotten food you've dumped outside of your house (because I wouldnt keep that in the fridge for sure) (hmmm Rotten Lamb Chops must smell like human flesh to them....  )

4- smell your amazing BBQ pork chops while you cook that last fresh meal you have left...

5- smell the wood burning of your campfire :) ! and hear the water boiling (yes, they have better hearing perception then humans)

6-  hear you scream in agony whilst removing a big sharp piece of glass from your arm and stitching it without morphine or other painkilla's...

7- follow the smell of your blood trail when you're harmed and running back to camp-base-home to get some rest and stitch up and all...

8- since you haven't taken a shower in months, because all the water is cut off, you smell worst then the undead and they can follow that scent if the scent trail is fairly fresh...

9- etc etc etc etc etc

Do not forget: Zombies are Predators, and Predators in the wild, Animals, have great HUNTING, TRACKING, TRAPPING skills  ^_^  ^_^  ^_^

I think we should be able to stand out in the rain naked during heavy rain and clean ourselves.

Hope you like cold showers in the yard :P

Or let us take baths by filling buckets up from rain collectors or the river and dump it in the tub.

I mean, if you drop heated rocks into it, it gets hot.

take those warm rocks out, and get in!

Drains always work even without water. because they passively drip downwards with gravity.

Screw that I'm in the the New World now it's a new style --- I like long hair and long rotten beards and blood stained shirts and  and and....  (clyde)

Sex will be VERY unpleasant to say the least.

Let's just say noseplugs suddenly become valuable.

Better keep that hair tied up tight, cause if a zombie grabs it, it sure as shit isn't letting go.

  17.

  18. I make a small box and add more boxes outside of it, each with a diving wall. so that if one sector fails retreat and arm thineself.

My goal is to make an entire city a safe zone.

i usually use log walls but have begun experimenting with plank ones.

  19. some stuff can be made with mods, i was thinking about it, but it's of no use if you have ideas, but no talent in scripting. :/ . "Overpowered" weapons is a really relative statement, since you can alter all parameters of zombies and weapons. How overpowered can a machine gun be if a zombie has tripple the health as now and the gun is no one-hit-wonder?

You can even implement solar-panels that "grow" battery packs use for laser rifles. But that would be a different thing. I just wanted something else than rednecks surviving in a trailer park. What about the special forces squad out there practicing dooms-day with abc-protection when the apocalypse hit the region?

But i think something like that is straight against the intention of Indiestone, so it has to be done with modding.

    exactly what i mean.

They ignore real things to give zombies an advantage.

I'm pretty certain if a single city's disease issue threatens all of the world, within hours the bombers would be taking off to wipe it off the map.

  20. DLC will not be being made for Project Zomboid.

    yeah, yeah, i heard    :-|

the devs have such a rigid and unchangeable idea in their mind i wonder why bother having the suggestion form in the first place?

Don't like new ideas about zombies that aren't done often.

Don't like reasonable things real people actually do (Hairspray flamethrowers and other seemingly reasonable items)

Absolutely reject any idea of a not horriffic and bad ending.

Refuse to change their minds about any idea.

I mean even miniscule things like disinfectant lowering the chance of infection they won't even consider.

I don't mean to disrespect the devs or anybody at all with this.

I just don't see many of the suggestions ever having a chance in hell of actually getting in this game with such a strict set of standards.

  21. Is this just like...

Get all the confirmed 'No' suggestions, and bundle them up into 'Post 1.0 DLC' so they don't count as actual suggestions?

    Military Aid. Check

    Clearly-Defined edge of map. Check

    Potential Over-Powered weapons. Check

    'Special' military Zombies. Check

Procedural (or Random) Generation Map. Check

    DLC... Check

I can't even tell if you're actually serious or not at this point!

    Edit: Ninja'd!!

You can't fucking even say that there won't be zombified soldiers.

this zombie apocalypse game takes place by one of the most HEAVILY GUARDED MILITARY BASES ON EARTH.

Like seriously dude :P "Knox" county :P :P

Machine guns i assume will be added, however i assume you will get little accuracy for brainshots.

Brookes even tackled this in the failure at the battle of yonkers.

The weapons that worked so well on humans had little effect on most of them. Because people die of being shot in the torso, and at most a zombie is paralyzed from a spinal cord injury and becomes a crawler.

I don't think Soldiers shooting at you and eventually being overwhelmed by the undead counts as "Aid".

And what do they mean by definite map border? I already stated, and stand by that the united states is not an eternal forest outside of a specific part of kentucky, so unless they make a scaled down entire USA i see no other option than an eternal forest after a point or a wall or randomly generated shit after a while.

I was just looking for the devs to stop reinforcing the one boring concept that every single player has to be boring civillian cindy or boring average andy.

It would work- really work, if some emotion went into this apocalypse.

It just seems too neutral, not much crying or despair around. Characters walk around without any thoughts on the fact that the world is ending.

Now don't get me wrong- i like this concept. It just so far is not pushed to it's maximum degree- i love this war of mine simply because of all the terror and sadness that goes into it. god i can't wait til this game is done and has reached it's full potential.

I just don't see why the devs don't wanna do anything fun or interesting with their game.

They just want a story to be Zombies show up. You die. The end.

isn't that much of a plot is it :P So i have no clue how kate and baldspot can have any sort of a story with that kinda narrative. right now they are just posterchilds for the game, nothing else  :(

THE BEST most interesting thing the devs could add in is a lack of genre blindness.

Meaning that in their world before the fall they already knew zombies, just as fictional movie monsters.

So those movie and video game monsters become real things and since people think it's impossible, react even less properly than in a genre blind world through sheer disbelief

Ending other than death is already a big NO if you would just read the commonly suggested page like you are supposed to  :excl:

DLC for this game would in no dimension be necessary or fair.

What i suggested was not an ending at all.

It would seem like one, but you would just keep on Going as long as you don't rp your character commiting suicide because they learn the whole world  has fallen as well.

  22. I was thinking after 1.0 comes out , you will probably have soldiers on the edge of the map ready to shoot you as punishment for trying to leave the game world. since america is not an eternal forest for everything but knox county.

But after a few months, if you decide to not have the military send in special forces that actually PWN the zombies, like, with knowledge of headshots, like those in DR1 where they with assault rifles killed all those millions of zombies.

That after a while, the military transmissions become erratic, fewer between, and stop.

When you go to the border, nobody shoots.

And you can cut through that fence and escape.
When you see a road, you are horrified.

    Corpses. Everywhere.

Zombies aimlessly wandering, mostly of soldiers and their murderers.
And after that maybe introduce a procedural generated map from that point on maybe please?????
    As a paid dlc?
    I don't care if it's 40 bucks, i'd buy it.
