  1. If only you could put pants into it...so many pants....
  2. That would be a great way to clear the mall, though. Gotta admit that, lol.
  3. McDonald's preserved in honey. It's kind of like drinking the bleach, really. But at least it'll never go bad, I guess. And you could use it as an energy source since that shit will definitely be radioactive...
  4. They could just let you sharpen a shovel like it was a knife blade. Trench shovels were often used in raids during WWI and I think the US Military has serrated spades to that can be used for weapons in a pinch. The Lobomitizer was basically a spade with an ax blade and maybe a spike, wasn't it? I can't remember....
  5. It would be realistic and it sounds like something that the erosion upgrade might tackle, but someone with more insight/knowledge could tell you definitively.
  6. Finding a dildo in Dead Rising was hilarious, and it got better when I used it as a weapon. But I don't think it would suite PZ the way it suited DR...
  7. I like it. I'm not sure how easy a targeting system would be; it would have to be able to target one zombie in a specific body part and also be able to target a mob of zombies. Maybe just having an increased crii chance that would simulate a headshot? But as to implementing more specifics, like damaging the legs, seems tricky for this game right now. .I know people get defensive about posting ideas that already have threads, but this thread wasn't just about amputation or just about wounds. It was a medical overhaul thread that included the previously mentioned topics. Excluding those ideas just because they've been discussed before would have left detracted from his overall point. To paint a full picture he needed to mention these ideas to be mentioned, as well. That and trying to find old threads can be difficult (although the mandoids are quite easily accessible). I also like the idea of biting people; that's something I haven't seen yet in terms of biting someone BEFORE you turn. I think that's a unique and unexplored means of transmission and would certainly make trust that much more of a commodity.
  8. I'm sure the devs have something in the works for this. It's easy enough conceptually and probably easy programming-wise.
  9. One sword somewhere notable would be easy enough to find, I think. I see people reference places on maps here all the time. I may not know the maps yet, but plenty of other people do. But I see you point about not being worth the time to develop if there's only one.
  10. I think that a very simple compromise can be made here...just have ONE sword in the game. The odds of finding a real sword in any given neighborhood in the real world is pretty low it seems, but it's possible to have one or two. Maybe have it placed in a house or perhaps somewhere notable (like a blacksmiths forge, something else that would be quite rare, I'd imagine). You shouldn't be able to make a sword because the odds of knowing how plus having the proper ingredients would be lower than finding a sword in the first place, but you could maintain it relatively easily. And once it's gone, it's gone. And a machete is what happens when you mix an ax's mass to a sword's blade length. Much more common than a sword.
  11. Sounds good to me, but I also haven't played with NPC's enabled so I can't relate to how it use to be.
  12. I'm going to chase my ketchup and salt shot with worm bleach now. All thanks to you, dude. lol
  13. I thought about the notch technique but I wasn't sure how to incorporate that into the game. I guess the devs could just add that as an option in the build queue. I think rope would work for certain features, too. Maybe for draw bridges. But you'd still need to drive the logs into the ground for a wall like a pallisade. And pegs would add durability, as well. But definitely include the notches.
  14. You'd still need some way to bind the logs together. In addition to using logs you should be able to craft wooden pegs. I think log cabins were constructed by digging out holes at the ends off a log into which a peg was stuck. Half of the peg sticks into the first log, the other half would sticking into the log above it. I like the log idea; it's a simple, realistic concept.
  15. Just imagine being the first zombie to stumble upon the guy who died eating this! It wouldn't want to eat flesh for days....
  16. I read in the forums that the devs are definitely going to implement this, as far as the creatures are concerned. I think that they will be present in the traps that they are working on. In other words they will allow you to trap rabbits with the proper trap and bait, but you won't be able to HUNT anytime soon. So like fishing in Minecraft, if that clears things up.
  17. If this game ever gets welding then you could make all sorts of weapons, but until that happens I'll limit my suggestions to more simple materials that could be crafted from the game now (as far as I know, lol). 1. Barbed wire bats or sticks. I think that a bat wrapped in barbed wire would do more damage than a regular bat, but less damage than a spiked bat. The advantage lies in that a wired bat would have an increased durability since it would hold a bat together (whereas a nail would split a bat over time). This would only require some barbed wire and something to be wrapped, 2. A sharpened spade/shovel. Find a shovel, sharpen the edge with a rock. Does more damage than a regular shovel, but the edge diminishes over time. Alternatively, maybe heat a shovel over a fire/store and pounding an edge onto the shovel (although that would be a bit farfetched). A shovel plus a sharpening stone ( or a rock). Maybe the heat source/hammer route. 3. Propane bomb. Take the propane tank, some twine and a lighter. Maybe add nails. Of course, I'm not sure when you'd need to use it. I haven't encountered a massive group of zombies yet (as in 15-20 deep), but maybe in the Mall or as a defensive weapon. Maybe use gasoline instead. This one might be a stretch (and unoriginal).
  18. I think that you could use a pillow to muffle the sound. Not saying that a pillow IS a silencer, but it should reduce the noise significantly. And I've actually heard of potatoes being used in the same fashion in mob hits, but that could very well be myth.
  19. IT'S....IT'S GLORIOUS! Forget the bleach. If you need to kill yourself in this game you should just eat this.
  20. I've only been playing for a few days now, but I've experimented with the traits a lot. Of course I died a lot, but I blame most of my deaths on poor spawns; poor as in crap weapons. (DON'T TAKE OVERWIEGHT, either!!! Lol). As of last night I've had a great deal of success playing with a completely vanilla character. I got tired of assigning traits (I died a lot) so I just clicked passed the profession and the traits. Are you guys optimizing for MP? I think that the vanilla character is pretty strong, but MP seems to have harsher requirements for living.
