Game isn't launching properly.

Hello, I've just bought the game on steam and created a save an west point, then I went to create another save on the first map, the game crashed and now when it loads up I can hear the title music but can't see the main menu.

 

Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks

Could you show the console window, maybe by starting the game in windowed mode ? Any reported error will help people answer you.

 

If you have windows, go to your windows partition and to \Users\"user name"\Zomboid folder. Find option.ini and set fullscreen to false. You can also lower your resolution. 

 

You can try to delete your saves in the sandox or survival folder, but I'm not sure it will do anything.

Before trying anything else, have you tried starting up in Compatibility mode? That may alleviate your issues. Otherwise, as Kyun says, the console output would be really helpful, or simply try deleting the options.ini all together.

Delete the contents of %username%\zomboid -- something is resulting in a Lua erorr, most likely.

Error log might be helpful in this case, though, as the above requests. =D
