Where should I send the houses?
-
Well... I think it's possible to be both. A person with dyslexia can still be capable of reading and could conceivably enjoy reading a great deal. Having dyslexia would negate the speed bonus, but the character would still be getting the happiness and boredom bonuses from reading a book, even if it takes longer to finish it.
I dunno, though. Maybe it could be possible, but I dunno.
Yeah, you can enjoy yourself reading even if you're slow at it. My suggestion were, if "dyslexia" gives 1+ point and "bookworm" takes 1- point, then it would make technically no sense, except you want this
-
If they seperate stealth mode from attack mode, then it would be, in my opinion, make sense to lay the stealth mode on "ctrl" and leave the attack mode on "rmb". Stealth mode could be switched "on" or "off" with an indicator icon or visible indicator like an animation.
So there can be stealth attacks or normal attacks. Maybe depends on weapons, which let you stay in stealth mode and some that turn it off (like guns or noisy melee like frying pans *gong*)
-
Okay that clears it out
I think it wouldn't make sense to take both, because you weaken yourself (negative trait - get points) to make you at some other domain an "expert" (positive trait - lose points). But of course this can be discussed
-
I approve of the traits, but having both of them at the same time? Not so sure, I for one have never met someone who is dyslextic and also a bookworm, for me they can't co-exist. Someone elses input on this?
It would be handled like the Strong/Stout/Feeble/Weak-Traits: Choose one and the other three aren't selectable.

Horses... Don't get me started on how much I hate horses. They're the single most useless animal you could possibly try to keep in PZ because the logistics for taking care of them are so steep you'd need a large group just to feed and care for one of those suckers. And not to mention the fact that they're extremely skittish. It's difficult to learn how to ride and control them and the sight of a single zed is going to throw one into a frenzy, buck you off, break your legs in the fall and leave you to die at the hands of the aforementioned lone zed. They're not a totally bad thing to have, but you wouldn't be able to bring them anywhere there might be zombies making them even more limited then a car which doesn't require near as much day to day maintenance.
These are really good reasons to add horses to PZ!

I think it's finished. The hospital can be downloaded from the first page of this thread, like the other buildings
If there are bugs or so, let me known!
Have fun!

And then you have to drag the TMX at the cell, not the .png .

I'm not finished yet .
1st floor is finished. 80% of 2nd floor is finished. 0% of 3rd floor is finished (but its at least the smallest floor).
The roof with the cross is improvised. I think, I'll make the cross a little bit smaller.
Heliport will be on the third floor.
Finally some outside detailing . Tomorrow it will be finished to 99,9%
Full view of the Hospital (looks like a prison... )
1st Floor (Spoiler! The seccond and third floor won't be shown )
Phew...

Currently working on the military hospital.
Inspired by JA2 Cambria. It won't have the crossed shape at the end, but two floors + roof, heliplatform and a red cross on the roof
After finishing (I think I can make it today ), I'll make some houses for suomiboi's map project "Radcliff": http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/7250-community-project-radcliff/.

Even if I'm a cigarette smoker, some "No Smoking" signs would be great

What tilesize should tiny, small, medium, etc be?
Gratulation for the map! Looks great (after seeing the roadmap I were blinded )!

It's hard to impovise with tiles. I wish we had some computer or telephones tiles for offices
-
so we cannot run a server with this map?
@alicecooper: yes you have permission to run public MP servers with bedford falls, bear in mind though there is a few bugs here and there that will be fixed in the next version, ill add more spawn points too.
RingoD gaves his permission.
-
Released the plant for public use. I hope everything is put together properly, let me know if you find any bugs. I'm not sure how to make invisible walls so you can walk over the water since it's flat.
Jesus trait
Never tried to make invisible floor or roof. Hope you find a solution!

Upcoming:
After I finished this, this thread will be renamed, then I musn't create new threads
-
Take away the tile covering it so it's hollow, I made some smoke chimneys and those large circle (square in game) stacks you see in nuclear power plants and they look good hollow, altho the square nature does kind of ruin it a bit sadly.
If your going to finish this and add some more buildings I could use it on my Raccoon City map as it has a large area for nuclear power
Nuclear power plants are always good. We need more superheroes!
-
The storage building on the left is an idea of how I'm decorating the outside of it. I really wanted someones opinion on the square smoke stacks and the black tiles used in them. Is it so square it ruins the aesthetic?
I think a real hole looks better at the stacks. Take the sewer wall tile for it. Try it and decide for yourself
-
That looks magnificent. Great job.
Kind off-topic question here, but I noticed the grass on the roof. Is that actually possible in real life?
Yes . Moss is the first thing that forms on the roofs. If it won't removes more plants find a breeding ground. The wind is carrying dirt and grass pollen to the roof, even on high buildings.
-
Stairs should be fixed now! They're shifted now.
-
Thanks for the info RingoD. I see what I can do.
Never try to go downstairs, to many Zombies down there .
-
Nice car model

Just had a thought: This would make an excellent 'Last Stand' style map, particularly if you had an external wall that could take a LOT of punishment. Why do you ask? So you have time to gather supplies from the ground floors before the horde comes a calling
It's hard to get through the building: Zombies are banging everywhere and crushing through the lower windowed walls, after some waves the doors won't withstand them. Then it's really dark and the Z's sees you through the windows if the floor or room is lighted.
If you want to change the wings, it can happen, that the next door is locked, because I used outdoor roof tiles. So crushing the door will lead the horde to you .
Survived for 32 minutes until they got me and after that they jumped out of the window!
Now I'm working on some military buildings with only one or two floors

Actually I'm working on some less complex houses for Suomiboi's map Radcliff in the WIP-Section.
It's almost like relaxing holidays
After that I'll working on two other military buildings, that comes to my mind and the "military story" should be history then
Maybe I should create a bus stop or an omnibus station, if no one make it before
