  1. @kirrus: Ah no worries Kirrus I doubt he meant insult. @Slendy: I prefer to think of myself as utterly and absolutely tree friendly and cfc free.
  2. Yeah - so, if you wanted to turn the outline into a spaceship, say, and then draw the space background behind it - that's fine. Just keep in mind that the rules do allow you to create a background EDIT: Also THIRD!!! WOOHOO!!! SUCK ON THAT!!!
  3. Go to PZ' properties on Steam, open the Betas tab, select "NONE" from the dropdown menu. And might I add, just verify afterwards as well. Steam sometimes derps when switching between branches or even when just simply updating. (Speaking from experience IRL and on the bug tracker with the numbr of issues verification solves.)
  4. There are always secrets... Beware the kitten for once you open the cupboard door, hell shall be unleased as a torrent of acrid carpentry bile, with -one could say- automatonic fervor... ((Wonder if the "Invasion" has a page in the wiki...))
  5. That's the usual mistake when people talk about a zombie apocalipse. Do you think survivors fight each other just because there are zombies or because the resources are scarce? Well, let's take a look to the real world and find the reason of the war at Gaza or Ukranie. They have plenty of resources and there aren't external threats, they are just a bunch of humans being stupid and dicks, and that's why the world went to hell. You might think the humanity may join together to fight the zombie threat, but why would they ally in the beginning of the apocalipse if they don't ally during the apocalipse? why fighting against other survivors and the zombies when you can ally with the survivors and be more safe against zombies? why kill on sight when cooperation is the best way to survive the apocalipse? the ultimate reason is human stupidity. It saddens me to see you place conflicts like this in a category solely blaming human stupidity and oversimplifying socio-political situations far beyond the understanding of most apart from scholars on the subject. People tend to fight for things they really believe in and as is the case in every war, both sides have valid concerns and interests. And these reasons do include the limited resources we all have. What deprav means is that as resources become scarcer, you will have much more reason for inter group conflict. Given the fact that even reasonable people would fight for good reasons (see above.) and this is why war is waged. I'd argue that stupidity is one of the least cited causes of war I have come across. After all, convincing otherwise "law abiding citizens" in whatever sense (let's say people who are well behaved and good companions in your group.) to become fire and brimstone killers, raiders, sackers and looters becomes a lot easier when you had only a mars bar to split between 8. TL DR: I disagree with your oversimplification vehemently and stating that stupidity is the "Ultimate" reason for war.
  6. I vehemently disagree I'm afraid. With most of your post but this in particular. Zombies are known for surprising, jump scaring and otherwise "ambushing" you. It is a huge factor of the game and one that should be enhanced further with more hidden and unexpected zombies. A single zombie can scratch and infect you, and I feel that the threat a single zombie plays should not be skimped on. It is a danger to you and will always be. You shouldn't feel comfortable looting a house with a zombie still inside like you can currently. The "plan massive attack" thing makes it sound like they are sitting around a table discussing the campaign against humanity. Where what the hordes were and what is suggested is that hordes wander and attack safehouses when prompted by your own carelessness or some other loud sound nearby. Adding NPC's won't remedy this situation at all, because this situation is not connected to NPC's. The threat a zombie poses won't be lowered or raised with the incorporation of NPC's. The formation of hordes and wandering of them won't happen with the mere introduction of NPC's.
  7. Ah nice, we call it a Potjie instead of a Dutch oven. But then again we are Dutch settlers so it'd be weird otherwise. We have the flat ones as the one pictured in the video above. But more fequently we have these little pots that look like old-school witch cauldrons lol. On a more serious note, the suggestions you made here seems reasonable and could add a little depth to making fire. Also they should allow you to split fires with a shovel.
  8. Thanks for reporting guys, but please use the bug tracker to keep this area for discussion of listed items and room for devs to announce things. The tracker also makes it easier for fellow members to confirm/deny and it is routinely patrolled by the devs. Tracker is up there on the right-hand side between chat and members.
  9. ^ Astigmatism yep. < Can't use contact lenses either. v Hasn't climbed a tree since childhood.
  10. What goes up, must come down... Even if it freakishly hovers for a few minutes.
  11. Thanks for mentioning it, there is a ticket on the issue here: #000862 in the tracker. Updating the status now.
  12. Yeah true, I never use construction worker. I tend to go for Outdoorsman because I can loot longer runs in inclement weather. And even if most people pick construction worker. There will be other professions in the future and I'd be willing to bet money that the ratio between for instance police officers and construction workers would invariably be more skewed towards construction. Since most cops would have had to respond during the initial outbreak. I can't see this as an issue anyway since your profession is known only to yourself. Another thing is the "lucky" trait. I never use it and I routinely find brilliant loot, yet whenever someone chooses to use it, and then finds loot that is good, they are like "OMG LUCKY IS OP!". Try playing without it and notice that the difference is far from astronomical I can tell you that. Still balance needs to be applied to all facets of the game, and the sooner this difficulty balance is implemented (even partially) the clearer the capabilities and nuances of NPC's will become. If you make the game too easy and then make the NPC's to survive on easy mode, then up the hardship and suffering, you will have NPC's that need to be balanced again. Just my 2c.
  13. Sure thing dude, no rush
  14. Thats technically 4 words.... Yay!!!
  15. This thread and the discussion thereof, future plans and game balance. I am all for it, this is what I have been waiting for! I remember the days of hearing that knock on the door... Then another... And another... Pissing yourself as you are almost too afraid to look out of a window... I am so happy I could probably take a good three punches to the face to get back to normal levels of gloom.
  16. Cool, hmmm yeah how will it be built? With what resources I mean. Will it use a bell or empty can? Either way I think we'll need a new item for that. Another thing is, where will it be built? I have two propositions as to how it will look and function. Say we have our vietnam style outside can alarm. It would look kinda like this. the string would just suspend the cans. This way you could create a perimeter. Built like a wall, but with sticks and rope + cans instead. Here is my second proposal. For indoors we do away with pegs and opt for strings and nails instead. Creating this: The benefit being that you can hang them through a hallway but still avoid them yourself. Put them next to windows on the inside, things like that. In effect both would function similarly, although realistically a tripwire would take damage to a greater extent when walked over.. (I like the look of the second one personally and would do it like that in reality, since they wouldn't destroy the alarm as easily when walking into it.)
  17. Brace yourselves. The fanboys will attack!
  18. Hmmm okay so maybe you have the infrastructure to capture a live Viceroy in the wild... *puts -snip- on the ninja list*
  19. I could still capture it and force it to fight spiders and scorpions for cigarettes...
  20. Never! You haven't enough satellites to afford an alien containment facility so soon!
  21. lol, wish I had a spriter to make me some signage on the place. And in the cell addition there is a groundkeeper hillbilly-esque abode that you would probably fit into. New topic is here: http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/10876-viceroys-lots-and-cells/
