  1. You're going to be disappointed, then. It's not something that the devs or the majority of the community want. You'll have to check for a mod (or make one yourself).
  2. Zombie? "All extermination units, mobilize. We have infected!" Well, works for zombies or pregnant I guess
  3. I like the prism. Deceptively simplistic at first glance, but some very interesting detail and depth at further inspection.
  4. Good luck fellas, looking forward to seeing what comes of this.
  5. Hah, fair enough- you've got me on that one. But I've got an ace in my sleeve as well! Gameplay concessions. While it mightnot fit perfectly, it's necessary for them to be fun/challenging.
  6. Ahhh, very clever. But I would argue that these are zombies that lost the use of their legs (since they don't stand up) and instead have just not received any stimuli to have moved them. They may not see the player until they get close due to their limited vision (only facing one way) and hearing (head against the ground, perhaps). Thus, it is only when someone gets close that they receive a stimulus, and thus- attack!
  7. Regarding their pathfinding, Lemmy101 mentioned one time that even though it makes them a bit more advanced than they might theoretically want, it's a side-effect of the pathfinding system that's somewhat necessary- so we might not be able to speculate too much into that. As far as why they go into empty zones, that's largely explained by the meta system in game ("events" happen that move the zombies there) and in lore terms, can be thought of as them receiving other stimuli (such as chasing survivors, hearing a tree fall over, hearing a car alarm go off, etc.) moreso than any hunting instinct. Of course, this is all just based off of my observations and isn't necessarily "official" TIS lore. They don't even tell me that
  8. It's an interesting idea... one that might be neat for a mod. I'm not sure I could personally see this fitting in with 'vanilla' PZ, though, given what we can observe about the in-game lore. Regarding zombies being in a pack, my understanding (and how it actually works in the game, essentially) is that zombies congregate not because of any instinct, but instead because they hear the sound from other zombies. This causes them to slowly, eventually form a horde. It would make for a neat 'alternate' game mode mod, as well- instead of having zombies that are super fast or strong, you have them use duplicitous tactics.
  9. You can find several threads about them over the course of the last five years. Most notable would probably be this one: http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/3515-silencer-for-weapons/
  10. All off topic posts have been removed from this thread. In the future if you want to speak to a member post it to them via PM or in a relevant thread, rather than hijacking someone's mod thread. Thanks.
  11. If you decide you'd like the thread reopened, please feel free to send me or one of the staff a PM and we'll be happy to reopen it for you.
  12. Heya, In my years working with and for TIS, one of the biggest things I've learned is that nobody is perfect. Don't worry- I don't think anyone here holds anything against you, and I really hope you won't quit modding. We love our modders, and we love you. Even with the apprehension some of us had towards what this mod would mean for us as far as the public's perception, we were (and are) all rooting for you. Cheers dude.
  13. No one can comment on code only you have seen, dude. All they can judge on is what you've released. So yah, right now- what we've seen- is mainly old functions. No one is trying to bash your mod. It was just important that this be brought up. I realize when you're making something, it's your baby and it's hard to hear criticism. But please- you're not correctly interpreting the intentions of any of the devs here. No one has tried to criticize you at all. I hope you'll just reread some of these comments after maybe calming down a bit. No one is criticizing your work.
  14. Just as a final comment... No one was dismissed in this thread and acting like you're being "painted with a brush" is exactly why we can't have this discussion. No one dismissed you, they disagreed with you. It makes us sad and jaded, too, when we try to have this conversation and people react that way. And finally, I think you should consider the differences between cognitive bias and evidence, because you seem to have them confused. Also relevant is the quote about insanity often (mis)attributed to Einstein.
  15. Go to Steam library Right click Project Zomboid Select "Properties" Press "Set Launch Options..." Type in -nosteam Cheers!
  16. Nero, if you could post this in its own thread in multiplayer support that'd be great. Unless you've already posted in Steam support- if you did post a link an we'll help you there if we're not already. I have a feeling you've already got a threat there.
  17. What's your opinion on preventative measures being taken? As in, depending on how quickly and effectively you clean the wound the chance of being zombified is lowered? It's not really a cure to zombification, it's just a lower chance of it even occurring. Obviously though, the easiest preventative measure is to not get bitten, as any survival instructor would tell you. My personal view of it is that the zombie disease is probably viral (though of course, intentionally unconfirmed by the devs). In that regard, it would be like any other virus- the moment you're exposed, it's too late to do anything about it. Even amputation doesn't make any sense for a viral infection- it takes literally one heartbeat to get it into your bloodstream in many cases. Cleaning wounds is a good thing to do because it prevents skin infections and can help prevent new (after the original exposure) blood infections, but in reality the damage is already done as far as being exposed as soon as the initial event happens. Of course, with an an unconfirmed source of zombification this is all speculation on my part and not necessarily accurate to how the devs feel.
  18. In addition to what EG said, the reason they're still called 2x4's is just because it's easier than saying "I need a 1-1/2 inch by 3-1/2 inch board at 92-5/8 inch long (common 8' stud length), please."
  19. On the other hand, you can sustainably make soda without too terribly much trouble. It won't be quite as carbonated, but still a close thing. It's all a matter of knowing how For what it's worth, I'm a weird hybrid. I worked on a farm, lived in a suburb, and was a short drive from the city. I've sold farm equipment, done tech support ( ), and sold lumber and building materials. weren't you a chef of sorts too? Yah, I've worked in a few different parts of the food industry. Been a server, a dish boy, cook, delivery guy, manager.

  21. Just as a heads up, we won't be seeing a cure to the infection any time- even for an individual basis. It's something the devs have said they don't want in PZ. On the other hand, with some changes in the next few patches we may see a bit more herbal medicine type stuff that could also make First Aid a bit more interesting.
  22. Usually it's causing a problem somewhere, even if it isn't one you immediately notice. It's super helpful to post log files so we can fix it. These could have consequences down the road like losing map or player data, etc. so always safer to let us know than to ignore it and hope.
  23. Animation system is in the middle of being rejiggered. Hopefully this should be sorted when that all comes public. Cheers!
