Use any gun that can go automatic?

There is only one automatic weapon in the game and last time I checked you could still only get in one of the challenge maps. This tells me you're using a mod which could be the real problem.

  2. So I've been giving the zoom build a go and I'm loving it by the way. However I am getting freezes of a few seconds after a bit of playing. It isn't as short as 5 mins, but after about an hour or so it happens and I have to completely restart the game to make it stop.

It "almost" works, in that if you double pull the trigger fast enough your char will start the sprint anim, but will immediately stop since it doesn't register holding the trigger as anything other than jogging right now. They're working on a full revamp of the controller config for a future build right now so we're probably not to expect anything other than upkeep fixes for the current controller code until it's done, since all that work will be thrown out eventually.

Ok. I was curious about that. I don't personally use a controller as I feel mouse and keyboard is more effective and easier for quick looting, but sometimes my son will play with me, so this is good to know.

Have you had any luck with being able to spring using a controller? I have not had any luck past being able to jog by holding the right trigger.

I had tried all the keys, but still...

Did either of you try enabling the double tap jog to sprint option in the options menu to see if that works?

I'm wondering if theirs a check to not grow on bald on character creation incase someone was rp'ing an old man but there is no check if it becomes that ingame to allow it to grow back.

This is actually what I was thinking as I usually pick bald anyway, but I kind of wanted to have to deal with hair growth. So I decided to start a new character just to test it out, only to find out that if you shave your head you instantly get male pattern baldness. Lol

    I Notices a (Possible) Bug.

After Shaving my Hair - they dont grow since Mai ingame - not even to stubble.

But my Beard grows to scruffy within a week

Yes. I've been meaning to post a bug report about this. You can't go bald or your hair stops growing.

Would you not just press the hotbar keybind that it was assigned to? So if your gun was on 4 and melee was on 2 and you pressed 4 to bring up your gun, would you then not press 2 to bring up the melee weapon again, rather than 4, which is assigned to the gun? Sorry if I sound dense, but I'm a little confused as to what you mean. xXx

Sure if you can put the specific melee weapon on the other slots. But a bat, for instance, can't be put on the belt and can only be attached to the back. So say you generally use a bat, but you have a shotgun on your back, when you switch to the shotgun it just puts your bat away and you then have to go back into your inventory and re-equip it. It should just take the back slot once you switch to the shotgun and vise versa

The insulation menu seems a bit too in-depth for the mechanic it's trying to implement.

Is that a debug menu showing the values for each body part, or is that what the player will see and use? Cause I'm struggling to picture a person in real life taking inventory of three distinct parts of an arm and detecting perspiration, warmth, what each section is doing for shivering/sweating... and blood vessels?

I love the idea, and for some things like insulation just in itself, it's good to know which clothing options are failing to properly keep you warm via what body parts lack it. But other sections, it seems extremely redundant and information overload to have so many specific body sections have all that information represented.

Also, I don't think shivering/sweating should be on the same meter. If you have a fever you could easily be shivering and sweating at the same time and you can't represent that via a sliding bar.

Everything else looks awesome, especially the hotbar that requires holsters/straps to access.

Note not all this information may be presented to the player, and we’ll likely have more moodles to cover some of the details as ‘feelings’, as a character would likely not know accurately as to the amount of contraction of particular blood vessels.

Is there a way to scale the UI on 4K resolution everything is realy small.

If no may I suggest to add this feature if possible.

    Best regards

Pretty sure they'll do something about that eventually. It's just not exactly a high priority at the moment. Maybe it'll come with the Highres update that has been talked about if we're lucky.

Ok, so I managed to repro this right after spawn without leaving the first house.  Unfortunately I didn't expect it where I got it so I didn't record what happened.  I can't imagine that a video of my character shuffling after the fact is helpful.

    (1) Spawn.

    (2) Looted kitchen (can't imagine it's part of repro but you never know)

    (3) Walked to bedroom.

    (4) Clicked 'remove curtains'

At this point my character stood there like an idiot for a half-second and I assumed that I failed to actually click the button.  So, I right-click again and select remove curtains.  Again my character stands there.  Note that I am not AT the window but in the same room.  My character would have to path to the curtains.

I -think- this may go in tandem with the stuttering we're seeing in vehicle test 17.  When I am not driving but running I still get pauses.  Full on stoppage of the game for small amounts of time (fraction of a second, far less than when driving the car).

    My theory is as follows:

    (1)  The stuttering is constant and only rises to the level of a pause with increasingly fast motion.  However, I suspect there is something there constantly.  I get those moments as above where I'm sure I clicked a menu item and it didn't take.  I ran on stable for a little while and didn't seem to feel this (only played that character for 15m or so to test this out)

    (2)  If you select a menu item that requires pathing right when a stutter starts you'll experience that pause where your character does nothing.

    (3) Select same menu-item again (or maybe any right-click that requires pathing?) during that pause, and now your character is confused.  You will be in a walk animation and will be unable to perform right-click actions (remove bandage, etc). You can still move around. I have been able to break out of this by selecting a spot right next to me where I don't actually have to path and clicking 'walk to' from the context menu.  Foot shuffling stops and I can continue playing the game.  This breaking-out of the shuffling with a simple walk-to (no other right-click item seems to work in this state) paired with it always seeming to be triggered by an action that requires my character to pathfind points an accusing finger :)

Can confirm this issue. I was just playing today and opening/closing curtains and trying to shut off TVs were having the stall, but it was about 4-5 seconds that my character would just stand there before actually completing the action.

So if it were to impact performance, what'd I need to upgrade to to have it not impact performance? :P I'm considering updating my PC and since PZ is my most played game I definitely don't want lag if I can help it. €1500 budget would surely be enough, I hope?

Not sure of what that would be American, but I'm sure you can get something decent for that. I know I can build a system that runs PZ great for under a thousand American.

  12. Actually...building a base isn't much harder with the other professions.  I think most people pick construction worker because of the 'thick skinned' trait.

As far as why pick other traits...I guess it depends on your goals, concerns, and playstyle.  I choose Police Officer because I like to play on MP, and being good with a gun is a good thing when the bandits come calling.  I also love to build elaborate bases and I've never had a single problem doing that with the Police Officer profession.

I was refering specifically to the idea that, for the rebalance, the construction worker profession will get a level boost to carpentry so they will be able to build walls right off the bat. While other professions will only be able to barricade at the start.

Edit. I'd also like to add for some of the others. This wouldn't just affect the ability to build walls. It would also effect being able to build water barrels and pretty much any of the real meaningful constructions. Playing on the move is great, but eventually all the sinks and other fixtures will be empty, but guess what? You never bothered to level carpentry passed the point of being able to barricade. So now you can't build a rain barrel. Game over.

  13. The only issue I have with these ideas is with the idea for carpentry. My issue is this: As it stands practically everyone already picks the construction worker profession and by basically having building a base being much harder with other professions it's going to shoehorn everyone into the construction worker profession even more. I mean when it boils down to "you'll probably die before you ever get enough skill to protect yourself in any meaningful way." Who the hell would pick anything but construction worker and whatever hobby would give it more of a boost? I can see that stuff being something cool in MP but all SP games now will be running construction workers.

  14. I personally like this house a lot: http://pzmap.crash-override.net/#0.6494121158006925,0.102213917437081,323.3392291209263

    -Two Stories

-Good centralized location yet still relatively on the outskirts

I use the one across the street from this one on the corner. I hang a sheet rope from the one window on the side, barricade all Windows and doors on the bottom floor, then I destroy the stairs and build a window with a sheet rope at the top. I then start walling it off, from the shed to the street in both directions.

  15. I downgraded my steam version from 26 to 23 to show my sister how to upgrade cuz I talked her into buying the game and it keeps crashing on her... I figured if she had build 26 it wouldn't crash, but now I can't get build 26 back.... IWBMS only gives me build 25c... can someone tell me what to do from here?

Actually to get back to build 26 just choose none in the beta tab as 26 is now the stable build.

  16. so one thing today, i load up zomboid server. i deleted all old files in 'c:/users/zomboid/multiplayer'

my password though was still the same for admin account,

not sure.. but when i was playing, my friend could not see my model, and zombies would not attack me (they would walk up, attack once or twice, and then just stand near me)

this was the newest IWBUMS build

If logged into admin account you need to make sure to turn off invisibility and god mode every time you log in. You can do that by either using admin commands or the easier route in the player list.
