  1. Strapping a pillow to the end of a pistol for a few shots to act as a silencer. Only for 3 or so shot's per pillow, and need string or some 'rare' crafting material to attach it. (Takes two hands.) Damage reduced and pillow is destroyed after a few shots just to avoid over-advantaging. (normal pistol remains after.)
  2. Umbrella Mod (v0.11) This mod adds umbrellas to the world of Zomboid. Umbrellas keep you somewhat dry when it's raining. You might get a little damp, but no fear of catching cold anymore!! Use: As you find umbrellas they are closed and can be used as a very flimsy stabbing weapon. When you open an umbrella you can use it as cover from the rain by equipping it either in your primary or secondary slot. You can also close the umbrella to use it as a weapon again. This mod will only work from version 2.9.9.17 upwards. It has been tested on 2.9.9.17 (0014). Download from pz-mods.net Have fun!! Known bugs: You can open and close broken closed umbrellas for infinite use. Don't cheat!I'm sure there was something else that I'm forgetting... hmh..well. I guess it was nothing.Let me know if you find some!atm I'm using the OnPlayerUpdate event to launch the functions, so if you see a noticeable fps drop please contact me for a work-around.   3. first off, this is my very first time modding or doing anything with code so my knowledge is limited tho i learn fast. i started playing this game and learned most of it and started wanting for more content i.e. weps/recipes/etc. i couldnt find any working mods that were worth a shit other than a neat item spawner that did nothing new so i deleted it. I just started browsing code until i fond the items, then decided to try to add a new gun(hope to add loads, think of state of decay). I succesfully made a Colt .45 that had its own ammo and a working reload function and got it to spawn into the game. before all this i downloaded some weapon mod that had ak-47, m16, m14, m1garand, etc. he had new textures and everything but i couldnt get his mod to work at all. the way i added my colt pistol was i went to the base item files, found the pistol and all required parts(2clips and the ammo) made some changes and had my new pistol working perfectly. i then decided to add all of the weapons from the failed mod i downloaded earlier. sorry for rambling, its my nature, to the point!! how do i get the new textures for the weapons i added? i currently have all the weapons added and spawned but they are all shotguns or the 1 pistol textures.... lol..... and to boot the shotgun textures only show when my character is walking a certian way, its invis while shooting, and none but my original Colt .45 reload at all but thats because i copied most of the other dumbshits code when i made them.(dont no if he was completely incompetent or mod was ruined by update. the item code looked ok so i copied and made changes but am going to have to redo as none currently reload). rambled again.... i want to add custom icons/sprites for my guns, read it can be done but the tutorial was very bad and poorly translated, or my understanding of lua is just that bad, and i plan on adding lots of recipes and other items after i finish this (crafting silencers, generator of some type for after power is out, and much much more, i have a huge imagination, and i could use the help of someone who knows a lil bit about this stuff. I have the time and desire to do a lot of modding so any and all help is very appreciated. and i couldnt get anything to work in the "Mod" folder so i've been putting everything in the base game files, not sure if thats the best way to do it or not but after i finish some more work im going to upload and ill need to consolidate the files if possible, any help here be great. sorry for the shit typing, and rambling. if you need anymore info about how i went about this just ask and ill try to respond asap. thanks for reading.
  4. To get use to the whole modding in PZ i started to create a small mod for myself. First I added a new weapon, following this great tutorial. Everything works except of the visible weapon in my hand. Can someone explain me how that works with the WeaponSprite = parameter. (the icon = in the inventory works) How do i define the visible weapon exactly. I only checked the extraweapon&sprite mod where he uses LoadTexturePage, but i would like to stick to the tutorials filestructure ect. Im thankful for any help or infos

  6. Was thinking it would be cool to have a new tag for knives and other small hand-held weapons that would work in a similar fashion like the jaw stab tag for knives, but would force the weapon downward, killing crawlers in one shot, like the jaw stab move.
  7. I always hate leaving loot behind, and seems the things left are always the flatware. Craft the flatware reinforced bats by nailing three pieces of flatware onto the tip of the bat with six nails and the hammer (only the vanilla hammer, maybe I should add my mod hammers.)   8. Hello, guys. I tried searching for "crossbow" in suggestions forum, found no such suggesion. So I decided to suggest a crossbow. Why? 1. It is an iconic weapon of many post-apocalyptic games, films and books, because it is silent, shoots retrievable and craftable ammo. Perfect tool for a survivor. 2. It will enhance survivor's sustainability, because it's bolts can be retrieved and crafted. 3. It will enhance stealth gameplay, because it is silent. 4. It will not be overpowered, because it will require players to reload (I suggest 2-3 sec reloading) it after each shot, and because player will have to search zombie's body to get his projectile back. Also, a typical crossbow weight is about 3.5 kg, so it will limit player's carrying capacity. Also, it's range is not that great. I think that bolts and arrows could be crafted by a player with intermediate carpentry skill. Best regards.
  9. Really want to see in the game some good old fashioned chain. Durable (unbreakable) weapon with Moderately High dmg (noise on-hit optional)
  10. Was tossing around the idea of having zombies spawn hands as loot, then you could use those hands with sheets to line the insides or something after you clean the gunky flesh from the hands. These hands could be equipped like gloves and could be used for unarmed combat (using knife animation), also getting the knife jaw stab kill move, but have very short range and they would wear out very quick. Things I would hopefully like to see in it in lua, so this will be my first workings with lua.. Using them can cause infection, especially when you have open or bandaged wounds, to you and to any non-zombie survivor you attack with them.Using them with germ freak survivors would either not work or make you very sick while and long after using them, hardened survivors would be more tolerant.Using them or having them equipped will make other (npc) survivors automatically hate you. Thoughts anyone?
  11. So here goes nothing: I've been learning some lua on my freetime and gotten in to the point where I'll be publishing my first mod. I've gotten the code working so that it changes the getting wet values to 0 but there's still some problems with the events and execution of the stuff (that will hopefully start going thanks to RJ and the .14patch! Thanks man invaluable stuff!)... The Umbrella can (when released) be found in wardrobes in bedrooms and maybe in the small storage shelves. The umbrella, when found is closed and can be used as a stabbing weapon (KittenKnife stats for now...). It can also be opened and when held in primary slot provides you shelter from the cough inducing evil that is rain. Since I was going to keep this to myself until somewhat done there's still major flaws that need to be fixed but I'm slowly but surely getting there. I just had to put this out there because kinyoshi as clever a detective he is, found my secret! thanks a lot no pressure now... First I'll try and make it work like it should (I'll take all the help I can get!) and then I'll release the hopefully working version at some point. Definitely no ETAs (I'm a busy bee at the moment)! After that I'll try and take some suggestions, but again no promises I'm only learning the stuff. So in due time I will present to you teh UmbrellaMod!
  12. "Say Hello To My Little Friends" Bugs so far: Ammo is lost on conversion if it is loaded. Infinite durability because of conversion. Coming Soon (In order of me doing it): Durability to remove the infinite on conversion issue. Mod compatibility for more whipping. Swing sprites. Fix losing ammo on conversion issue. It's my habit not to include instructions on how to use my mods, until people figure out how to use them . Thank you Pezi for your feedback. *TIPS* Firearms now have a safety switch, which will jam upon activation.Unjam the safety switch with a screwdriver and hammer, a rather long process.During the unjamming, you will need to clean your weapon with a dish or bath towel.The blunted sawn-off shotgun can be used like a knife in close quarter combat.The blunted shotgun can be crafted with ripped sheets or belts and knives for some ass-whooping.   14. I would like to see the pens and pencils have a UseDelta and be Drainable, with the pencil running out quick and the pen lasting longer. The only way to do this is to make the base vanilla pen and pencil into Drainable items instead of weapons. You could then add a weaponization crafting recipe using a ripped sheet or something and the pen or pencil to make it a weapon, once you make it a weapon you cannot change it back nor can you write with it.
  15. Hey all, I am wondering how I would go about spawning an object, say for example a box or a barrel or whatever, when the player fires a specific weapon? What I'm thinking of is just messing around with something the player can equip, which will "Auto-create" something else, maybe a box, or another weapon or something, when the equipped weapon is fired, how would I go about starting to do something like that?
