  1. Going back to what Intense said about being able to use traps on zombies. So far I've only found mousetraps and don't seem to have an option to build traps yet (I've got planks, nails and saws coming out the wazoo too?) If wire/snare traps became craftable could these be used to trap a zombie in specific areas? Then couldn't this angry zombie be used as a lure for other zombies? For example, you've cleared out the caravan park in Muldragh so no need to return there. By trapping a zombie (or several) the noise created by these trapped zombies would act like an alarm, luring nearby zombies to an area of the map you've no need for. Over time the trap could break/the zombie could break free but in the meantime it can create some "safe" areas to search in. Not played much Zomboid over the past year so absolutely LOVING all the additions. It's filling out nicely.
  2. Is there anyone on the team worth heading to in the event of a zombie apocalypse? Or would you all be pillow-smothering hammer thieves in the night?
  3. Smothering two people at the same time with one pillow seems a bit of a stretch. But as a makeshift silencer.....
  4. Only new to the new look forum Nasko, keep throwing your words around like chicken feed. Nowt wrong with some unbridled Monday excitement.
  5. Nothing is improved by the inclusion of children I'm not interested in a Carl Grimes joining the group, or the media backlash it would bring to the game. I imagine (unfortunately) the kids were the first ones to be munched (slower, weaker, more prone to panic) and as they're small, most of the bodies were gobbled up by the undead and carrion eating birds. There are never many children in zombie media, unless you count "Children of the Living Dead".... which nobody ever should ("starring" Tom Savini, my arse)

  7. Will NPC's have some form of skill tree, a basic version of the main character's. The only reason I ask is the idea of being shot in the face by someone in a house I'm breaking in to. If they've no aiming skill then the gun would go off but the odds of being hit are slim, the odds of being killed even slimmer. However the noise will still attract nearby zeds, some sort of shouting dialogue could take place to prevent further fighting and worse case scenario (okay, second worse case after death) you're wounded and so move at the same rate as being over encumbered making escape from approaching hordes that much more difficult. Would it be possible to tend to the wound? If it's "through and through" then could the wound be cauterised and bandaged? A bullet lodged in there could turn septic and cause serious illness. Could first-aid become a skill set, resulting in a medical NPC being like gold in your group. Or a player becoming a well trained field medic resulting in much less hostile NPCs? I'm well aware the first NPCs may still be limited in what they do (although an entire evolutionary stage further than the 1.5 NPCs running wildly into zombies) so I'm not expecting miracles. I just hope it's not a case of "meet a trusting NPC, no problem. Meet a suspicious NPC, head shot and you're dead" (like the shotgun prick from the tutorial, I hated that guy)
  8. I'm a realistic kinda guy (most of the time) Is it too much of a stretch to keep my fingers crossed for some NPC-in-action video today? I'm excited about today's Mondoid but not sure why, I'm hoping I developed some sort of Zomboid news sixth sense during the night.
