  1. I had a whole kitchen cabinet filled up with a pallet of planks, that makes sense, right? I like it the way it is, but I think the weight needs to be adjusted for some things, right now 2 pots of water weighs more than a log or a corpse, logs weigh the same exact weight as their 3 sawed planks(planks should be 2 weight in my opinion, you have to account for some waste in the sawing process). While we're in the topic of inventory management we shouldn't be able to carry open containers in our backpack or so many on us(I was balancing 10 bowls of water and was still able to equip my baseball bat in both hands, where those bowls of water was at I do not know)
  2. I thought of the same scene when I read the OP haha I like the "slower movement with a fuller floor tile" idea, makes sense. Wall of zombie corpses...not so much sense, not only that, as someone mentioned, the body weights 8 weight or so? so you could only stack 6 bodies up in a single tile, which would amount to all of about 4-5 feet of rotting corpses, you can still see over it and wouldnt really be a wall at all.
  3. Agreed, when you're far from any any houses a rain storm really puts a hurting on you, I was in the woods one time running along the tracks to get to the railyard when it started raining, I had to backtrack and undo all of that travelling, got to the house, waited it out, and went back out, halfway there, started raining again. :/
  4. Never heard of it til a few weeks ago, one of my friends gifted to me on my birthday. In the apocalypse, where would your ideal hold out spot be?
  5. Its not hard at all, in the branch that reduces the sleep to 0 all they have to do is add an If->Then type snippet for each type of furniture you can sleep on, I dont see it taking no more then 10-15 minutes if that to add the additional coding in as the sleep code for everything should come from just one subroutine.
  6. What would he be without that shiny hair?
  7. RPG Maker What is something you bought you ended up using far more than you expected?
  8. Havent played it, played Payday 1 though, only have about 2 hours in it if thats any indication...Ive heard Payday 2 is a lot better though but still waiting for a free weekend to see for myself. What was the first console you ever owned?
  9. Thats a tough one, bike has very limited capacity but a car will make zombies hear you for quite a ways. I guess it depends on how far Im going, if I dont care about making the zombies in town rowdy Id take a car, otherwise Ill be pedalling everywhere. Considering your flukes, quirks and misgivings that you know about yourself, in the zombie apocalypse how do you see yourself dying if not by a zombie??
  10. As a man who pursued a pure Aryan world and was engaged to two women prior to marrying Eva Braun I can't see him as being a homosexual, nor even bisexual, his orders towards and the Nazis persecution of gays also stands as a testimony of his views on it...or quite possibly a cover, but I don't think he was regardless. Ever went somewhere with a friend and they left you behind, either purposely or by accident?
  11. Nope, never time traveled, I never have the $1.50 required to put in the slot. :/ Not including PZ whats your favorite game?
  12. Nope, didnt even know they existed Ever visit another country?
  13. ^ Yes, 2 months ago it was long though lol < Extremely OCD, everything has its place and Jeebus help the poor soul that moves something and not put it back lol v OCD about your PC desktop having too many icons on it?
  14. ^ No idea what yaoi mpreg vore is, though I know who Jeff the Killer is, and have been given that nickname on a few occasions. < Made quite a few games, but abandoned them before being finished because I have a short attention span. v Needs a haircut
  15. A lot of people on these forums don't do anything but run around trying to correct people without adding anything productive to the conversation. I guess it makes them feel smart? I don't know, but telling people to separate opinion from fact then turn around and give an opinion saying its a fact? Just like in my other post I said one word wrong and someone goes on a 2-3 paragraph spree explaining why its wrong, saying to leave technicalities to the people whose not killing zombies, when he just explained in a few paragraphs the technical difference in "split" and "divide". Place is full of hypocrites lol
  16. Completely, provably, inherently untrue. Mouse speed is a good example- any proper PC gamer knows you want to set the mouse acceleration to zero in the game options, turn off game mouse speed boosting, and use your system settings. Same is true for color balance, among many other things. Let's just take a deep breathe and remember to separate opinion from fact, aye? Hes talking about a game where you cant adjust mouse speed whatsoever in-game(doesn't have boost settings, acceleration, speed, etc) and relies solely on the users Windows settings, that is not a good way to build your game, it limits a gamers options pretty severely and can turn an otherwise fun game into a frustrating experience. Take for example me and my friend used to play L4D all the time, my mouse sensitivity would be about halfway up and his would be all the way up, he likes the much faster reaction time because he feels midway is too slow...if that option wasn't in the game to increase his mouse speed it would severely affect his gaming experience, and as a game developer, gaming experience is what makes you money. I do like how you said "Let's all call our opinions the only proper way to play games" then turn around and give your own opinion on mouse speed claiming its a fact lol
  17. I agree with them all, knockback is a bit crazy in this game. and no matter how much adrenaline I have running through me, if a zombie bites a chunk out of me, Id be surprised if I didn't go into shock or something, the body isn't used to such damage and doubled with it the anxiety of being chased by zombies you'd probably pass out. Realistically speaking you should be able to endure several bites before succumbing to shock/passing out in my opinion. They could even add a "Queasy" and "Hardened" perk that changes the number of bites you can endure. I got caught by a horde before and stayed in the center getting bit by a mob for some time until I finally died.
  18. You can make the window longer and slide the name bar over, you can also set inventory text size in the options. Ive never had an issue with it but it would be nice if QTY had its own column.
  19. You broke the flow lol Cats, because theyre laid back. If you came head to head with a zombie in the apocalypse what would your preferred method of disposing of said zombie be?
  20. Paid $600 for a Wii U and a bunch of games a few years ago and managed to play it for about 2 1/2 hours and never touched it again. Are you more of a PC gamer or a Console gamer?
  21. Havent played LoL before and only have 107 hours in Dota 2, Lifestealer FTW. Know when you're going to die or not?
  22. Because if my waffle maker ever broke Id have no idea how Id make square indentations all over my pancakes. Assault Rifle or Shotgun?
  23. Cell-based system called chunks, and the world is celled off like other games in this genre, its not exclusive to just PZ. I know pretty well how servers are ran and all multiplayer servers are ran pretty much the same way, just with varying number of data strings being sent back and forth. How is Client-Server communication not a relevant factor? Everything you do in a multiplayer game has tons of client-server communication going on, its how the two stays synced and why you need such large overhead per player, when a player moves the players X,Y and Z position is sent to the server, as well as the players direction, just taking a step sends 4 variables to the server, then the server has to send all 4 variables to all of the players that should see that change. Changing inventory? The client has to send the server information about what was removed, the server has to remove the item from its own inventory. Every single thing that the player does the server has to also know immediately, thats how the two stays synced. If you spawn 1,000 zombies in, you have the zombies x,y,z, direction, and action minimum, thats at least 5 things per zombie, assuming the variables are saved using an Integer value(128 bits), thats 640 bits per zombie, times 1000 youre looking at 640,000 bits, or ~80kb, and if the server is being updated 30 times per second thats 2.4mb/s, which will cause lag on the client end unless they have at minimum around a 3mb/s download(and their gfx card/processor can handle the massive processing). This is also not including all the world information being transmitted or anything else. Im sure theres a lot more things than just those being transmitted, just using it as an example as to how client-server communication does matter. Kept having to edit to clarify lol
  24. 4gb does seem really excessive, a certain game I shall not mention that I used to be a support tech for a while back only recommended 128kb/player, and that was with a heavy load. The server itself eats up most of the ram since it needs to keep the whole world loaded(or just chunks that are "active" by the player), but other then that the only thing transmitted between the player and the server are data strings that are changed during the course of playing which barely use any memory, I don't see a single player using over 128kb of ram unless the game has a lot of leaks or theres a thousand zombies on someones screen. Lets say a player is in a world in his own little house, when hes idling the only thing being transmitted back and forth from the server is the time and player mood statuses, maybe around 10-15 data strings? Not sure how they have that set up but it wouldnt use no more than a quarter of a kb, if he walks over to a cabinet and opens it, his movement will be synced with the server but not opening the cabinet, however if he removes something then that would be sent to the server to be changed on that side also. Zombie location/actions, character movements/actions, world changes and inventory changes are the only thing transmitted off the top of my head. Doesnt add up to a whole lot unless you have thousands of things going on at the same time. Again I don't know how they have DT set up between server and client but Im assuming they know what theyre doing and have fairly optimized the game to limit bandwidth usage.
  25. Depends on the definition of friend, I only have 2 real friends that I trust with my life...those, no, Ill take the painful death. As for the others? If I can't trust them with my life why should I give it for them? You have any kids? (I have 5, by the way lol)
