  1. I am sorry if this is currently off subject, but I would be very glad to help with bows, crossbows and spears Once these get implemented! ASK ME
  2. You're screwed ^^ you could be used as storage space And saying things like: "I've seen some sh*t bro!"
  3. True that, but more realistically speaking it would probably be the sound getting closer and a growing shadow on the land what you would see not some terminator flashing red lights you get what I mean.
  4. AWESOME! Any link to this announcement so I can read in detail?
  5. /roll 6 for the 3 worms and the can of beans please
  6. Thank you Lemmy all I was curious about You guys are awesome ^^ Im looking forward to making a video series once build 28 is out though :3
  7. Soo this occured to me. I believe a nice addition to the game would be that you can remove blood stains inside a house using rags. The simple reason behind this is - now that you can move corpses (and with the new release burn them unless you want to become unhealthy and depressed) all those nasty stains still stay there which are just as demoralizing as the corpses themselves. Recepie for this could be - tear any type of clothing similar to bandages to create 2-4 rags, which will be called "Rag" use this on the surface you want cleaned by right clicking - then it becomes a "Dirty Rag" or "Stained Rag" - then you can burn these as well as the bodies (either in a campfire to provide 0.01 fuel?). I would LOVE this as to be honest it pisses me off when a nicely painted safehouse gets blood stains because someones left the front door open and a zombie wanders in. This would be a FULLY cosmetic update feature, which could be thrown into one of those small releases before we get our dream NPC's ^^ Please say I am not the only one who was thinking this? P.s. blood stains on my lovely farm could also be washed away by rain maybe? Or disappear after a while (4-7 days). That also makes my OCD on edge sometimes ^^
  8. Not sure what's worse, being surrounded by zombies or being alone...

  9. Could you reflect anything to my above post? I am just curious if my ideas are close or totally off your development track ^^
  10. I am amazed how they achieved things in this development, which my team failed to do due to lack of commitment. We were developing a very similar ai for our strategic zombie game, but the coders did not see it through till the end. Shame really Anyhow! The devs are making awesome process, and I hope at least some of my ideas will be like I described above (as I see things are heading this way).
  11. I think that the devs will add "events" when the NPCS are introduced, random crash sites would be a nice addition to the game also, forming the map as time goes by. Imagine a plane crash near Muldraugh whith 200 passangers all dead standing around the crashed plane, but there is a person stuck in the toilet that is alive... You either hurry and save them or just wait for the horde to move and loot the leftovers Stuff like this I can imagine HOWEVER flashing red things on the map... no. Completely ruin the mood of the game and does not fit the overall picture. This is a horror/survival rpg not Starcraft Nuke time.. (if you get what i mean). Nice ideas though! Keep them coming ^^ and welcome to the community!!
  12. It would be real nice if we could all lead a table of some kind with how often we caught animals with which bait and which area, to get a general bait guide going on the WIKI. Only thing that worked for me so far : Peanut butter, Cereal - used 1 caught 2-4 mouse each time before bait was gone (with mouse trap) now thats not bad if you think about it Cereal only gives like -15 hunger, where 3 mice cooked give -60 in total i believe? You will need some anti-depressants tho ^^ Please let me know your findings with the baits and I will cook up a nice guide
  13. I just saw the word "NPC" in the title, which forced me to open this thread, read every comment and leave a response. What the devs said lol... Its like showing the trailer for the new star wars movie and say "NO HYPE! Its still ages away!" or saying "DONT PANIC!" when raging zombies surround your safehouse.. right its gonna happen haha. So - NPC'S with personalities ++ NPCS trading you stuff you need and they don't + (I would make it so they have multiple of that item they trade you maybe), you could trade bullets for food or visa versa depending on the kind of NPC (if he is a farmer in the group, he probably doesn't go out to loot a lot, might need seeds, water or just finished food products (cooked soup) instead of bullets). Group hierarchy inside NPC groups +++ just the thought of me being able to work my way up in a group while surviving and doing heroic deeds (Spiffo disapproves of Heroic deeds) so I can command a small tactical group and encourage them to develop their own skills. Infected NPCS ++ your lovely group went out on a looting mission, but one of them was scratched and might be infected... do you take the risk? Would this cause a debate that you guys kill him/her or make NPCS pissed at you if you did? Who knows, would be a nice addition. Especially if he turns inside your safehouse and bites another NPC going to the toilet. Organized looters/bandits (NPCS ofcourse) ++++ imagine this: you have been holding out in your little fortress for weeks, farm is growing, you got the rain collectors going. Suddenly some asshole breaks down your fence and 3 armed survivors come in looking to take everything you got, including your life... A WHOLE new level of defense right there. They might force you to drop your stuff too (Devs suggested there will be a force inventory open thing when the player will put hands behind their head and the other can take anything from them). Treating NPCS wounds + lets say you got some painkillers and bandages, which are required by one of the NPCS as he/she was shot or scratched, you give it to them or use it on them? to get some plus gratitude from them. "You saved my life, I will help you with anything you need" kinda thing. Vehicles with NPCS ++ You want to do a major loot run? Take out that Van you just found (once they are implemented) with your NPC friends and fill up the trunk with stuff. Radios, Walkie talkies ?? ++ The ability to be able to communicate with your group from a far would be highly awesome of course require batteries and stuff. Just imagine if you could ask for help, give out a distress signal that somebody may find and then come to kill you and take your stuff? AWESOME. No hype.. just ... casual discussion here :D
  14. I set myself some goals for the waiting time. Survive for 1 year, kill 5000 Zeds, build a fortress, pile bodies anybody in for the challenge ^^ ?
  15. OMG this new mondoid made me too hyped I believe D: I am jumping up and down screaming NPCS!NPCS! Grandma thinks I got some sort of STD or something, she has no clue what NPCS mean ^^ Its funny but they look like they play better than me already.. gosh
  16. I like to share my story how I was going around on a server with 200 zombies around my area, with only a pencil to use as a weapon. I riped some bandages from the dead zombie clothing upstairs, made 2 sheet ropes. Made a lot of noise, then ran upstairs. All zombies started beating down the house soon breaking windows and banging on the door. With extreme panic level I opened the bathroom window and climbed down using my sheet rope. I ran until I had no more breath only to look back and see the zombies are busy breaking the house apart in search for me, creating more noise and drawing more zombies there. I sneaked past a few that were heading to the house and my way to the farm was clear. I found no food and the water works in the house were dry, so I had no chance to drink or eat anything. I found a trowel on the way to the farm and an axe on the dead zombies laying around. Embracing my luck and remembering this post I dag up some worms to eat and headed for the farm. My mighty pencil broke so I armed myself with my newly found axe and gone into the farm building. After several empty cupboards I found potato seeds and some bowls which I filled with water outside from the well. I dag up some more worms to feed on (I was completely depressed by now) and planted the potatos. Few days later when they were grown, I made some potato salad and soup (there was a pot in the nearby house) and managed to make a campfire too. So here I was a happy survivor alone in the forest separated by trees from the upcoming days of struggle to survive, with a brink of hope on the horizon
  17. Everything is clear now or you will be able to loot someones house, without them knowing. Will there be any way to securely store items in a box that can only be opened with a crowbar or something? Edit: Is there a Vehicle discussion thread?
  18. I think that it could work but under some circumstances. Say you get looted while you're out scavenging - you get back to your safehouse and have no idea who robbed you. But if you implemented a 'history of ownership' in an item, not visible to the player but within the item metadata, it could make things interesting. So your favorite spade gets stolen, and weeks later see a survivor running around with your spade, it could automatically flag them. It kinda opens up a can of worms though, because if I was the spade stealer in this situation, I would want to shoot back. Now, if you go even further and consider that factions existed, that spade could trigger a freakin' block war! Honestly we're probably getting outside of the realm of the possible here. In reality, if you're the survivor in a zombie apocalypse dealing with another survivor, I think you'd keep a pretty close eye on what you're doing when trading, wouldn't you? I'm not saying anything about a big flashing arrow, I'm saying a line in the chat box like "X stole your Y!" With the introduction of notes, you can keep track of pretty much anything if you have pen and paper :3 which will be nice! But the ability to take revange should be there at any given moment, given the opportunity to pump some bullets into the stealing person. This would also make players to be more aware and risking less (stealig less) as it may cost their lives. If you go around and steal from someones crate nobody will know who it was and when if the person is not there, as it is now. This is what needs to change somehow.
  19. Likewise, I don't want some artificial karma. Regardless of the outcome, they should always be PvP flagged for a few minutes - it's up to the player how he/she acts on the flag. I think the 'act' of stealing though should be basically a die roll, because there are too many variables to consider, and lets face it, if you're gonna try and take advantage of someone by stealing from them, you are seriously rolling the dice. What if you are successful in stealing, and the other person doesn't notice immediately, but notices later? Should that player not be a "permanent enemy" of the other player and stay hostile after such action? Another question would be, if you would be able to form "groups" like factions etc. and set who is hostile towards whom that would be very cool (especially if multiplayer will work stable with 20+ people), allowing some real nice roleplay/action elements to players much like in Walking Dead etc. where there are multiple groups, who could then negotiate according to some hierarchy and make treaties. Might be TOO much, but this would be a nice late game feature especially on multiplayer PVE where you can see that another faction has been looting you (names of players listed) so you know who to look out for. Side note: when you have PVP turned on how can you tell if the other has too? I have not seen any visual representation of this yet (red name or something?)
  20. I just watched: Dawn of the Dead, Diary of the Dead and Day of the Dead... If this release will take much longer I will be obliged to watch the whole Walking Dead Series again as well D: So many replies so fast, I could not comment on either ^^ Really nice input guys keep them coming! <3
  21. Isn't this already implemented? I don't own the game, but I'm sue it is. If it isn't, Falling from one story will give you barely anything, maybe only if you are over encumbered. Maybe have it if you fall from 2 stories you have a chance to break your leg, and this chance increased the higher you go. Also by how encumbered you are increases the chance for broken leg. If that's the case, let us have an option to drop a bag from the height before jumping, for less risk of broken bone. Now you die if you fall from 2 story or above height. And if you fall 1 story, you get injured, but your leg isnt broken.
  22. I see you are trying to make a point (and indeed it is a good one) however. Look at this in 2 different ways which are a major concern in multiplayer (I believe anyway): 1. Join a server that has been going for 2-3 days all looted - that is alright, but what if the players who looted everything already moved onto the next server and there is no chance of co-operation? 2. I find that 80% of players are non-cooperative and 20% of these are just going to kill you when they see you. Without NPC's you find yourself alone 80% of the time, while if you finally get a group that helps you: server crashes ^^ I really love this game and I love multiplayer, I dont mind spending 5 hours to find a trowel, but when I finally do and the server dies thats when I find myself rage quiting. I have not found a stable server yet, I know this is a lot to ask for even with finished games so I will wait patiently. This game can and will be awesome multiplayer in the future, for now its a tad frustrating
  23. Dude! You have some seriously good ideas there, you gotta put this in the suggestion section too! Explain in detail like what kind of loot how often where etc with the random drops. Also burning the corpses will get rid of them I believe, so you do not have to worry The fire system needs some fixing too as mentioned above, to allow you to make a safe campfire with a bit of extra work, after all, it is possible in real life too (diging a ditch around the fire, or pouring water on the nearby tiles could work too). Army cleaning up the city! MUST MUST Sounds way too awesome, also large group of survivors looking in town, looting houses and killing you or finding you and you could persuade them to join them or something. Would be cool, and once the migrating hordes of zombies roam the town there will literally no safety anywhere I HOPE, as it gets sooo boring on multiplayer when the town is killed off 98%, all loot is gone, and everybody is playing farmville at their safehouse.
  24. Well I could present alternative ways to teach them, which would more or less be inhumane as you may say. ONE may publicly express his/her opinion, this is what you have a right to do. I am not going into a futher debate of who should be shot and who is not, but presenting the youth with a self image that is CLEARLY unacceptably by all means, is wrong and should be discouraged not encouraged by the media.
