If only experience paid the bills. I'd love nothing more than to join up and do something like that. Unfortunately, right now I'm working full time on getting full-time work. ^^; My days are spent building my portfolio and sending out applications. But who knows. I always have sparetime projects even when I have work. Maybe this could be one at some point.

It's a business in the end. Notch made an amazing game, launched an unfathomably succesful company, and now sold it for a shitton of gold. What would make me angry would be if any employees were stepped on in the process, but I imagine with this kind of money they're all sitting pretty sweet. And I can sympathize with the fact that he didn't want the responsibility of owning a gazillion dollar company, and much rather would play with making new games. Now he's got the security to do so forever if he so wishes. That just seems like the dream. Well done, Notch. Hope you have fun in your future projects.

Rules updated: FIRE NOT ALLOWED - Until a better way of controlling fire within the game is implemented, starting a fire and letting it spread is not allowed. Campfires may still be used for cooking, as long as it is kept in control. Also, in light of recent grief and a poll started by SuperJack, the server may be whitelisted in the near future. I will update everywhere to let people know if/when the change takes effect.

Hmm, I'm gonna test the 2-hour loot respawn in different zones than I did previously, just in case it's a construction/player visits issue. I'm wondering, when changing the HoursForLootRespawn through /changeoptions, is the effect immediate? Or must the server restart for the change to take effect?

Thanks for your reply Viceroy. I've tested with 1 and 2 hours, but I can go and check 3 hours or 4 just to be sure. I'll report back once I've done so and let you know what Iv'e found out.

Just as the title says - I've run my server and map for a bit now and wanted to experiment with the HoursForLootRespawn setting, to balance and find the ideal respawn rate. When I started the server the respawn rate was 24, and I had reports that it worked and items were respawning. Feeling the items respawned too seldomly, I set the respawn rate to 12, 2 and 1 and tested it - yet nothing respawns in that time. I've tried to change the value both manually via editing the settings, and typing new values through the /changeoption server command. Any idea why it won't work, and what might fix it? Thanks.
