Were you able to confirm whether or not those files are actually missing, like by searching the PZ directory for their presence? Also did you try Steam's "Verify integrity" feature? (I'm assuming you already tried that but worth asking) Did the game work previously and suddenly stop working? I had that happen once and never figured out what made it mysteriously start working again.

I returned to Project Zomboid after years of not playing, looking forward to start a proper playthrough in B42. Unfortunately, i found out that i can't, because the default mouse sensitivity causes the cursor to travel to the next town over even when i gently touch the mouse. I got a Logitech G502 Hero. Never had such a problem in any other game or tons of other apps i'm using on the same computer. For transparency - i already tried to solve this via Steam Support forums, but since we don't seem to be getting anywhere, i'd love to try here as well. To let more brains at it... https://steamcommunity.com/app/108600/discussions/1/595147526195144613/ I also tried to google the issue, and while i did find people that had exactly the same issue (or the opposite one, sensitivity too low), none of the forums/debates they started concluded with a solution. The support person on Steam is telling me that Zomboid doesn't offer to customize mouse sensitivity settings because it's using the hardware/OS setting (if i understand that correctly). I'm hesitant to trust that claim. If that was the case, the cursor within Zomboid would react accordingly if i changed the mouse sensitivity outside the game. It does not. Not only it ignores the mouse sensitivity settings, it also ignores when i click the dedicated mouse button that cycles DPI resolution presets. As soon as Zomboid starts to boot (black screen, before the splash screen, before the main menu), the mouse cursor starts yeeting all over the place even when i try to do the tiniest moves. This is unfortunately preventing me to play the game entirely. It's utterly impossible to hit anything in the plethora of ingame menus when even the smaller mouse nudge or the tiniest involuntary twitch teleports the cursor miles away. Forget about pixel hunting. We eliminated mods being the culprit, i removed them uninstalled Zomboid, manually deleted the game folder and users folder contents except logs, i reinstalled Zomboid from scratch, i sent the log files to the steam support person. I tried fullscreen, borderless fullscreen, windowed mode, i tried lock cursor to screen and otherwise. I enabled the OpenGL/DXI swapchain as instructed. I disabled virtual Parsec display driver as instructed. Nothing helps. The cursor behaves one way in Zomboid and completely different way EVERYWHERE ELSE. I do understand that it's important to eliminate possible reasons OUTSIDE Zomboid, but the absence of issues in ANY OTHER SOFTWARE I EVER USE makes me quite convinced that this is clearly an issue caused within Zomboid itself. I love the game since the early beginnings, way before it got to the mainstream gaming platforms. And i'd really like to play it some more pretty please. But i can't when the mouse cursor leaves the room everytime someone in the neighbouring building farts. I'm not a developer, but something tells me that Zomboid is definitely not running with the "hardware cursor" mode, which the steam Zomboid support seems to claim. If it was, it would react to the settings changes made in the OS. There is an obvious app layer in Zomboid that kidnaps the mouse cursor, takes it hostage and does extremely nasty things to it. And it starts immediately as the app gets into focus, and stops when i alt+tab out. PLEASE HELP.

I have to point out in stages that... Server searches for multiplayer should be completely improved and multiple filter options should be offered. These are included in the sandbox options. When searching for community servers, it was a little frustrating to enter manually, and there was no smooth created search menu. Coop or multiplayer, fitness and strength requirements should be reduced by half. I think you already buy nerf for too many character traits. It would be great to add in multiplayer, especially in the lucky trait feature that I wanted. That's all for now.
