Ways To Make Stealth Much More Fun

Right now, it's basically essential that we bash a million zombie heads in to survive, but it would be really cool if we could have other play styles. It would be awesome if we could actually sneak past zombies unnoticed and hide from them using our sneaking skill.

 

- Making it so our sneaking skill affects our ability to camouflage ourselves from zombies would be great. If zombies can spot us from 5 miles away no matter what is not really that much fun for a sneaky play style. It would make the player much more encouraged to use and level the skill, instead of it just being there, looking pretty haha.

- Sneaking into bushes should make us much less visible to the zombies.

- Night time should greatly reduce zombie line of vision, just like it does ours.

- Various weather conditions should have an effect on zombie vision.

- Ability to go prone would also be really cool and immersive feature. It would be pretty realistic if it made us much harder to spot for the brainless zombies. Simply holding the sneak button would make us go prone instead of pressing it.

- If we could go prone, we should be able to crawl under stuff to hide. Like beds or cars.

 

What do you guys think? And by the way, I love the combat in this game. I just think making stealth better would be really cool! :)

I agree this seems cool also having louder clothes / darker clothes should infulence it like if you are dressed in full orange then you will be more visible then if you dress entireley in black or if you have a metal belt that clacks every time you move it should influence how stealthy you are

Maybe an option to jump inside a wardrobe/locker as well would be nice. I think musical cues should give us a hint that we're CLOSE to being detected, without it being a simple pass or fail. Like, we should be able to ride the line of being detected, and be aware of said line. And that line should move in a way that the player receives feedback based on how good their sneaking skills are (distance with a fade off indicator or something perhaps? Maybe a "sneaking" mode similar to how foraging works?)
