  1. Apparently they are planning on an overhaul of first aid and the health system of the game. This is a suggestion of similar interest/ideas as yours, they have some good ideas, would recommend giving a check on what they wrote down [link]. A moderator (QA) named Pandorea commented on April 4, 2022 to that suggestion : [link] We are not sure of whats on the plate when it comes to the changes, but there is a high likelihood that in the foreseeable future there will be major changes to the health/medical system that the game currently has (if the information shared by Pandorea proves to be correct). I personally disagree with this statement. From my understanding, this game is supposed to embody a hardcore and 'punishing' survival sandbox game that rewards a player for being meticulous and careful with the risks and choices taken, thus 'punishing' the player for making mistakes is to be expected. Making a more complex health system allows for greater control over how to 'punish' the player. Going past those hurdles would be very gratifying, principally in MP, where confrontations would bring long-term problems, adding greater stakes to the table. Also, when getting lucky and finding someone who helps you out of those tough situations, it would be much more bonding, could lead to great RP situations for those who are into those types of gameplay as well. Of course, everything has limits, and forcing the player to have an actual medical degree to solve problems could be problematic for many people. A balance between complexity and simplicity is important. However, that's when I think that the doctor and nurse occupations could shine. Since they could have a system that allows for players to know how to treat players from the get-go, such as the 'tooltips' (calling them this due to a lack of a better name) on what can be used to treat a patient present on Barotrauma, and a player in a different occupation could slowly learn how to treat different conditions as they read medical books and practice first aid, perhaps some rare conditions would be exclusive to medical occupations to really make them highly valuable. They could always implement a difficulty system for the medical stuff as well, so one can tweak values of what they want or not in the custom play mode (not sure how viable that is, though). Then again, the choice lies in the hands of the devs, I personally think that the health system that is currently in the game suffices, but I personally aspire for the health system to become a bit more complex, as I think it could add to the game.
  2. I can see that being pretty fun to play with. Would definitely turn PZ into a much more scarier game if you choose to play with such a trait. A modder has made a mod that features Schizophrenia as a trait, it is really good. However, it does have some problems when playing online due to the way that the hallucinations function from what I have read on the comments of the mod page [link]. Would recommend giving it a try, it really adds to the game and its quite amazing what they have accomplished. Agreed, would fit in well with build 42, principally 47 (42 is when adding pets and hunting, 43 NPCs are on their infancy, 47 NPCs polished from my understanding [link]). Such a situation where you are lonely and depressed so you go on an adventure, a search for anything that doesn't want to eat your brains, and by luck you meet a dog, so you take it under your wing. I think it would add a lot to the stakes, since your death isn't just about you anymore, your companion needs you as well. Exited to see what the future has in store for us.
  3. Hey, that would really be a nice touch. It definitely would add an extra layer to immersion. Would be really cool to see it in action. However, I think that optimization could be a problem. I imagine that it must be quite difficult to add sound dynamics to VoIP (which from memory already is quite resource intensive server side) and not cause performance issues. I believe that to make it more accessible it would need to have a toggle option so that people on older hardware could still enjoy the game online. Hopefully I am wrong about this though.
  4. Yeah, I think it would be pretty neat to use firearms for suicide in game. Definitely a less painful way to go then drinking bleach or rat poison (which seems to be coming out in build 42 [very cool, can't wait for it to be released]). I don't know about the laws in different countries, but I am led to believe that Steam is okay when it comes to that sort of stuff. Taking into consideration that games such as No More Room in Hell have a suicide by firearms mechanic; Even on mainstream games like Cyberpunk 2077 also have a mission where a character kills themselves via a firearm in front of you, another mission where you see the aftermath of suicide via exsanguination, and they also have quick hack named suicide that forces people to shoot themselves in the head (most of the time lethal), are all on the storefront. Of course the implementation is up to the devs. However, seeing how they already have animations ready (as pointed out by MadDan) and self poisoning, I don't think its unfeasible that in the foreseeable future this feature is to be implemented. (ps. sorry for the grammar, even though I am now fluent in English, my goofy a*s breaks sometimes)
