Bioniclefreak25
Whenever I try to start PZ on Steam, the command console pops up and stays blank, and then the game opens up while also remaining blank. I went to the error file in my Steam folder and found this. java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: zombie.gameStates.MainScreenStateat java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source)at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source)at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method)at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source)at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source)at com.exe4j.runtime.LauncherEngine.launch(Unknown Source)at com.exe4j.runtime.WinLauncher.main(Unknown Source) Does this have to do with the game not working? EnigmaGrey
Let's try circumventing the launcher:Go to Steam\SteamApps\Common\ProjectZomboid and open a bat file in Notepad (ProjectZomboid32.bat is a safe choice, if you're unsure).Do the following: change zombie.ZomboidLauncher to zombie.gameStates.MainScreenState and save it as * All Files, overwriting the 32bit bat. Bioniclefreak25
YES! It worked! Thank you so much! I just tested that with the 64bit, and it did not work.
Rickshaw_Watcher
Just tested the same method on Build 21 of 2.9.9.17 using the 64bit bat file (latest Steam Version as of January 1st, 2014) and it worked for me. Bioniclefreak, are you using a 64bit operating system?

EnigmaGrey
You need to make sure you double click the bat file after making the changes.
