I broke my record

Yay, tonight I broke my record and managed to stay alive for 9 days.

 

I realized that a lot of stuff, for example how to build and what materials are needed and such, is still veeeery unclear to me and the game does not really give you hints. How do you guys know how and what to build and where to go?

I've finally also learned to survive properly now I have a plan in my mind. I started at bottom left of the map, hit the police station up, grabbed a load of ammo for pistol and other random stuff, worked my way up to warehouse. I'm on 8 days and 15 hours. I'll be going to the farm near the warehouse too, then the logging place. 

 

Hopefully, I can find a god damn trowel soon, or a sledgehammer. Need both of these, mainly a trowel. Taking up the farmers life.
