Steam version control via beta section

It would be convenient to be able to switch the last 2 or so versions via the beta section, currently being used as the IWBUMS access.

This would be convenient for core and Lua mods that may or may not have time to catch up, and would serve as an access point for people who have purchased the game, to have access to the versions in a legal way.

Been tried before. It quickly falls out of use and, frankly, many people that use betas don't seem to understand them. Steam also often screws up updating with them, necessitating reinstallation of the game. Then there's bug tracking and the fact that many people don't know which version they're playing or include it.

Sometimes having limited options is a good thing. :-(

The launcher won't be coming back, considering there were quite a few issues getting it to work on all three platforms.

Sorry Jab.

Is there any post detailing the issues with the launcher?

You can search the support section. We had hundreds, if not thousands, of problem posts about it. You're more than welcome to do your own research on it, but the launcher won't be coming back in any official capacity no matter what, and with that being said the support team isn't really going to dedicate a lot of time doing the research for you. Sorry guys.

Considering it's been two years, probably not.

Main problems where the GUI not appearing on Mac and it failing to actually launch despite there being no reason it shouldn't.

Also random exception violations, despite it being standard Swing.

Good luck.
