Can't see my character through walls

GilnorgTheGrey

Question

Whenever I walk into a building, I can't see my charatcer because the walls don't turn invisible.

From what I've seen, from looking at youtube videos and screenshots of the game, what's supposed to happen is the walls of a building that would normally block your view of your in-game avatar turn invisible, so you can see them and the room they are standing in. In my game, the walls look like this:

In case you can't tell, I'm standing in the bathroom. I can get out of that room, but I can't find the stairs to go outside, and I can't get into the other rooms of the house because I can't find the other doors. The walls block my view.

This is extremely annoying, not only because it's impossible to get around, but because it's resulted in at least one death to zombies that I knew were there, but couldn't see to hit.

My OS is Windows 7. My game version is 31.10. Is it some setting that's wonky, or is my computer too weak, or what?

Impossible to tell without your hardware specs :)

Have you tried updating your video drivers, yet?

Don't trust Windows or Steam with that. And even if you think you're up to date, just try to update it anyways. Experience has taught us that in 90% of cases, what you see is a lie :P

Make sure to check the site of one of the "big 3":

I finally managed to get my drivers updated, but it doesn't seem to have solved the problem. Is this something you've seen before?

Two or three times, though I can't rightly remember how we resolved it. Intel series 4 graphics are common enough with that CPU.

So this might be a bit messy:

Can you try turning off shaders, zoom, 3D models (both kinds), multi-core, and making sure lighting is set to something like medium or high? Be sure to press save then restart the application entirely.

If this doesn't resolve the problem, find the Intel Control Panel and set everything to "Let the application decide," rather than "enhance application settings" .etc
