Multiplayer-Black Screen with Freezing

Question

I host the server and currently get a black screen that will not allow myself or any other players to get passed the beginning dialogue. My computer can definitely handle this so I'm just not sure what I'm missing! Any info you need let me know and I'll provide it! I opened my ports using cmd since my router would not open any ports not matter what I did. Not sure if that has any factor.

Ports have to be opened on the router. As far as I know, there's no way to do this through a command prompt.

If you're trying to connect to a server you're hosting on the same computer, use localhost instead of an ip address. This way, you don't have to conenct through your router.

I typed this into the command prompt which allowed all the given ports opend.

netsh interface portproxy add v4tov4 listenport=16261 listenaddress=10.0.0.7 connectport=16326 connectaddress=10.0.0.7

My friends live in different states so I gave them my actual IP, not my LAN.

It doesnt have every port opened since I would have to do it one-by-one on listen port.

Try rebooting your computer, as it seems like you have a zombie process taking up the port.

Either that, or open up task manager and end all tasks that say "cmd.exe" or "java"
