PS2 vs PC GTA San Andreas

I have a quick question / poll here.

 

First off, what version of San Andreas do you like playing the most?

 

Secondly, I know almost nothing about how computers work, so I need to ask a quick question, why isn't the PC version as atmospheric as the PS2? Like, on the PC, there isn't that amazing orange glow in the evening that is in the PS2 version.Also, there are less reflections (that I have noticed) and the day / night cycle doesn't look as good on the PC version. Is there a mod to fix this, and is it the result of newer technology?

That would be " distance fog". It's a technique developers use to cut off the amount of things rendered on the screen and not have it look horrendous due to hardware limitation e.g. the PS2.

 

PC has no qualms with rendering a shitzillion things and in most cases doesn't need distance fog.

Also, GTA:SA on PC has a mod called SA-MP (San Andreas Multiplayer) which is a persistent GTA-MMO : player gangs, player police etc... I never played it but it looks like fun ;o

Tis' true with the SA-MP, GTA:SA also has MTA, Multi-Theft Auto, which is the same thing. Also, GTA:SA opens up some great opportunities to roleplay.

Personally I preferred PS2, but thats mainly because controller support is shite on PC. Though, if someone could recommend a good mod my views may change.
