  5. Hi everyone, I want to introduce you my first serious project, which is also my first serious video game, and my first game made with the framework LibGDX ! But whatever... ladies & gentlemen here's Shine ! General InformationsName : ShinePlateforms : Android & iOSShort description : Shine is a free puzzle game based on light and colors which is going to triturate your meninges ! A one-of-a-kind puzzle game that will take you for an unforgettable travel in space !Progress : AlphaEstimated Time of Arrival : Q1 2015But before going further, let me introduce myself. About me Who are you ? My name is Mickael and I'm 23 years old. I passed my Higher National Diploma last year, and I just passed my last exam this year, in June. I discovered programming in August of 2011, just before starting my HND. Why a video game ? Everything has started when I discovered libGDX. I played a bit with the framework itself, with Box2D, then with OpenGL, shaders etc. Gradually I started using tools related to video games, althought I was not attracted by this kind of programming at first. Eventually, all this gave me the will to make a video game for mobile phones, a domain I was familiar with cause I had already published 2 Android applications at this time. Game's core concepts In parallel with my studies, I thus tried to find an idea for a video game with an innovative concept. Because I wanted to be able to finish it, I wanted something that I could do without much difficulties with my current knowledge. So forget about 3D So the idea was born of a 2D puzzle game containing 2 basic element types :Emitters : Elements that send light (represented by a ray going in one of the 4 directions)Receivers : Elements that need light for the level to be completedEach one of these elements has its own color. It means that a red emitter will send a red ray. Similarly, a blue receiver will need to receive a blue ray for the level to be completed. Each level is displayed as a grid, with several elements dispatched on it. You can move emitters, but you can't turn them. Receivers can't be moved nor turned. All the elements needed to resolve the level are on the grid. You can't add any element by yourself. But because images are way better than words, here's a nice infographic made by our awesome graphic designer that sums everything up The game will contain 10 worlds, each one of them containing 30 levels with a growing difficulty. This means that, at the end, there'll be 300 levels, which is not bad Throughout your progression in the game, new game concepts and new elements will be introduced to help you cope against the growing difficulty, so that you won't get bored The universe Given the fact that the game is partially based on the operation of some "natural" phenomena (light propagation, color mixing...), I wanted graphic and sound environnements that would enhance these elements. As you would have probably guessed, I thought about something in space, like an interstellar travel. Each of the 10 worlds would then be a planet. These planets could be made only of the natural elements that are familiar to us (crystals, volcanoes...) or mixed with some fictitious elements. Something very sci-fi actually So here's what the 1st world will probably look like (no elements) ! Where it gets interesting for the player is that it means different graphics, sounds and musics for each world, in addition to the new elements. Thus an almost completely new experience each time ! I'm not looking to tell a story through this travel. The only goal being to offer a unique and rousing experience. Like if it could be a way to espace from the daily life, which is sometimes a bit monotonous. The team We are currently 3 to work on the game on our free time :Flawyte : DeveloperChak : Graphic DesignerBenjamin : Sound DesignerProgress You can like us on Facebook if you want to be regularly informed about the progress. The mechanics part is now done, and a few people occasionally play the game to spot bugs and give us feedback. I "only" have to reproduce what the graphics designer has drawed (elements, environnements...) in the game once we're almost sure it won't changed further. We haven't planned to take addional testers for the moment, but if you're interested in being part of the adventure feel free to get in touch Apart from all the progress of the game itself, we will definitely need translators once closer to the release date. So if you speak a foreign language (other than french), feel free to send me a message ! Every person that will have been involved in the game's making will be thanked in the game's credits Let me know if you have remarks, suggestions, questions or whatever else ! 10. Blog | Facebook | Twitter | Tumblr Zems is an online card game that can best be thought of as Hearthstone meets Chess. Cards you play are put on a hexagonal grid and can be moved around, making positioning a very important aspect of gameplay. _______________________________________________ I have been working on Zems for roughly four years now, refining the concept and gameplay over time. The game has been prototyped in several different frameworks and my team is now committed to using Unity. For ludum dare 29, we created a buggy but playable prototype using a square grid. You can play it here. We're currently working on a new build using a hexagonal grid and several game rules refinements, which should be done around the end of this month. Screenshot from our v0.02 alpha (no UI implemented yet): The team is officially incorporating a company within the next two weeks. We're also contacting a lawyer and getting the proper paperwork made so we can distribute the alpha with a TOS and/or possible contract. Stay tuned! I'll post more updates here as they come.

  14. hello guys im Tsukune Aono and here is my idea of the day youtube: Ksic Games Twitter: #KsicGames facebook: Tsukune Aono Twitch: Ksic GAMeZ okay so quick and simple idea today. why don't we make this game compatibly for ios devices and please don't make yourself sound stupid by talking about the frames, computer processing unit and random access memory not being able to handle it. Just tweak some things and the game will run as expected. this will get a lot of consumers quickly seeing that over 500 million people download apps off the app store daily (i'm exaggerating) and it opens the game up to so many people. to be honest the game does feel like an ios game. look what mine craft, terreria and the walking dead did (yes i know the walking dead was a faliure on ios). when mine craft was released on ios around 120% of the mine craft consumers bought it. just imagine PZ for that, and to be honest i would find it kind of fun and cute to be playing it through my 5s. i understand if comments are very defensive to the game. im alright with that so thanks for reading my post and comment away.

  16. Hellu! My name is Robin Norrman and I would like to show you a game that I have been working on. Spellheart is a fun multiplayer action game that you can play with your friends for free! With a customizable server that anyone can host, the possibilities are endless. There are no classes in this game. As the player learns abilities and chooses items, the player creates his own class. Since the player decides his/her own class each match, the gameplay is dynamic. Because of dynamic classes, there is no "best build", as players must counter each other in order to win. Introduction video: Examples of Custom Servers (old game version): Getting Started video (old game version): Or visit the youtube channel for the game: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCY2l3QVtNKLrmxRF0NurKjw/videos The game is completely free and available at my website. Website: http://spellheart.com/ What I want with the game right now is just to be noticed. A publisher may want me to finish the game or I could add microtransactions for cool stuff (that will not make you better ingame). Alot of people has helped me with testing and some have helped me create 2D and 3D art but all of the programming is made by me. What I am using in the project: C++ Ogre3D (Rendering) Bullet (Physics) enet (Multiplayer) OpenAL (Sound) FLTK (GUI for Host Game) Inno Setup (Installation) Qt (For GUI of the launcher)6 Edit: Changed the youtube channel link to a better one Edit: Changed all the links to the new webpage and new youtube
  17. Build 25 Originally, I wanted to build my safehouse on the lake but the game wouldn't let me. Besides, the water tiles are very ugly. (No offense to the devs) I built my safehouse on top of Giga Mart. The highest point is 6 stories off the ground... I think. I'm safe from all zombies and I'm self-sustaining. Images of my stockpile can be found here: http://imgur.com/a/9KJYF Summary of my stockpile: 70 Anti-Depressants50 Beta Blockers69 Painkillers55 Sleeping Tablets114 Bandages103 Bandaids60 Vitamins68 Bags of chips32 Orange Sodas79 9mm Rounds10 Boxes of 9mm Rounds18 Boxes of Shotgun Shells3 Pistols3 Shotguns3 Axes
  18. I would love to see a high score mod that you can see how many zombies you have killed as well as the longest you have lived, favorite food (most food) you ate, most mood were in, favorite weapon, ect. I am not sure if this has already been suggested but I think this would really add to the replayability to the game.
  19. Rules: THERE ARE NO RULES!! (no I'm just kidding) Seriously the rules of the game: As the first player: you may post 2 or 3 random words. As the second player: you may think of ways you could use the first word to improve on the second word (or third). Innovate! Use whole sentences. Remember, don't use the words directly. You may use characteristics, connotations, allusions or values of the words themselves. For example: first player: Zombie Death second player: -The necromancer unleashes his undead minions (zombie) to raid the village and mass kill everybody (death). or - The brain eater (zombie) grabbed the wandering man by surprise and raved his body until he sighed his last breath.(death) or - he came back from the dead (zombie) to simply kill people.(death) Of course, you may as a second player post new words afterwards. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Ok I'll start with: Duty Moist
  20. Hello Everyone! We are Rich Tomato, a team of five recently graduated game designers from Brisbane, Australia and we are here to announce that we just released our first game BioGloom on the Google Play store! BioGloom is a 2-D survival adventure game similar to other titles such as Osmos, Flow and Ecco the Dolphin. You play as Lumen, an alien angler fish struggling for survival in the depths of Earth's oceans. The game primarily revolves around the player changing their light colour to eat different coloured smaller fish whilst avoiding larger predators and hazards through four unique environments. BioGloom was created as Rich Tomato's final project for their game design course at Qantm College in Brisbane. The game went on to win Best Game and Best in Show at the SAE Qantm Grad Show on January 30th. Please feel free to download the game and give it a try at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.RichTomato.BioGloom&hl=en. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated and we look forward to bigger and brighter projects in the future! Follow BioGloom on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/biogloom
  21. Go here http://orteil.dashnet.org/nested This is a simple procedural generation game; "The display is set up like a directory of nested folders. You click on a universe, which gives you access to a number of galaxies, each of which contains planets, asteroid belts, and such. You can click to explore planets, and if they harbor intelligent life, you can view the species and cultures, visit their museums, and even see their thoughts." For example, this is my game session: I started out by selecting a universe > galaxy > star system > asteroid belt > then into another galaxy > inside a black hole > dyson sphere > a future planet > a continent called Masoca > a city called Citadion > person called Alice Dorzine > explored his body > explored his psyche > his thoughts > he thought: "I need a couple decades on an exotic planet to cool off." > Alice is wearing a white nanosuit > the suit is made of nanoplasm > it contains nanobots > made of silicon > it thought :"ready to sacrifice myself for you, sir :]" > then inside the nanobot itself contains atoms > which lead me to another multiverse called "babyverse" > star system > another planet > continent > land called "Realm of Kesdoor" > fortress > castle > a guard named "Henry Blackmight" > his body > his head > his skin > pores > contain bacteria called hydrovirus. So what did you find in your universe?
  22. Id like some sort of option to turn down the music for the entire game maybe more options people think of.
  23. Ok so I've been working on a new HTML5/Canvas/JS Game that's compatible for the 3DS Web Browser. I intend to implement dual screen support in the future. Right now it's mostly a Tech Demo so features aren't really added yet, but I wanted to get some feedback about how it functions on other 3DS's before I continue. I do see this hitting other platforms in the future but just working out some game mechanics for the time being. This is all new to me, so bare with the cheezy paint graphics till I am ready to update. I'll post more info on features I plan to add later (unfortunately I think the 3DS version will be more limited than the rest for obvious technical restraints). Enjoy and please leave some feedback......... go easy on me! ZombieCade!
  24. Ok this is the workflow of this game: 1.The user above you writes a word or term. 2.You take that and search on Google > images 3.The first picture you find there post it here 4.Then you write your own word or term, and so on... +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ First word: Random
  25. Hi! My name is McCartney, I've been working on my game Sneak Mouse. It was inspired by the game red-light green-light, but with a twist. You must navigate through mazes and solve puzzles all while trying not to be caught! Game Bio: Sneak Mouse is an original game with rules similar to red-light green-light. You take the role of a plump little mouse on a mission to get its cheese. You must navigate through over 100 unique mazes to reach your goal. Oh, and don't get caught! While you're moving through mazes the bad kittie will be trying to catch you. The cat turns around randomly and if you get caught moving, the game is over. Each level gets progressively more and more challenging. The cat will turn faster, and the mazes will become more difficult. There will also be a time limit, so you can challenge yourself and see how fast you can finish! Trailer/Kickstarter Campaign Yes it is on Kickstarter! I need the funding for the pro version of Game Maker so that I can finish the game. (Since they limit.... a lot in the free version) Link here if you want to check it out: http://www.kickstart...use-an-ios-game Demo: https://www.dropbox....ouse demo22.exe You can only move while the cat is not looking, otherwise it's game over. Arrow Keys = move click "Level Select" to start level click "title screen" to go back to beginning I'd also like feedback on the game! It is very important to me :} EDIT: Playable demo can be found here. Be sure to check the text file for instructions on how to play the game. http://bit.ly/SneakM
