  1. Hi, I wanted to give my oppinion about the new Update: After reading the Mondoid about 30.9 i thought: Nice its going to be harder already! When i played it, the first 3-4 Death in like 20-40 minutes it felt like the update broke the game. That is because i just wanted to follow my standart procedure. Yeye find weapon, kill all Zombies bothering me and try out stuff from the late game ( farming, levelling up weapons etc.) But at the 5th more careful start it dawned on me. Now i actually get the satisfaction and excitement i had when i was approaching the mall for the first time(the most crowded place in the world) from just trying to get to the next building to find some food and water. I started again to close curtains, sneak around try to plan my day(the stuff another person posted before me), feeling really scared again even of a group of 5 Zombies. I Fucking Love It! I feel like i have forgotten how this game felt at the beginning, but now it feels like it again. Awesome Job Devs! And that doesnt even involve the Awesome new Overgrowth of the map with all the new plants, the new ,medical system TENSE! And the new desaturated Colours! Nice nice nice. What a wonderful upgrade! Great Work guys much Apreciated! One negative: Stuttering after like 20 mins every 20 secs. Even worse in splitscreen (EVEN HERE NICE UPDATE!) Sum it up: Love the devs, love the community, love the game. Thanks.
  2. "I had to stop to eat, drink, change my clothes, and read other books to cure boredom while I was getting it done, and was able to pick it back up at the correct spot each time. But you do have to see the irony there that it took so long that I had to stop reading one book to read another book to cure my character's boredom at having to stand around so long to read the first book." Sounds like any approach of learning in my Academic Studies. Awesome update by the way works like a charm!
  3. in my opinion the bigger picture is that the person who has the most work with the new items is not that programmer but the graphic designer. As far as my knowledge goes, adding a new item withought any functionality is like a few lines of code with the path to the sprite, attributes and a part in the item generator when you enter new areas.
  4. "New message added to demo to underline to players that you start off infected." What a great way to limit the Demo. Well played.
  5. Ah, i was a bit shocked temporarily because i couldnt see such a "dickish" move coming from you guys. Now i want to give you even more money. But i think ill start with finishing the sounds for Robomat... At least i recorded breaking the furniture of my girlfriends Parents. Sounds doory.
  6. "but also it’s unfair to those who bought in at the start to not be rewarded with a discounted price for their early support." The only way i understand this right now is that i have to pay again for the steam release? Which cant be cause i read that with my desura bla bla i bought the final version also. Im confused. Edit: I hope it is not planned that i have to buy the game on the different platforms to actually play there.
  7. Ah no i also meant Samplebased + dsp(by sound engine). Like your reverb in a large hall. But dynamic triggering eg your footsteps is a lowcost (and also already implemented? Heartbeat?) technique which gives great results. And a limiter or some other gain controlling system for big hoards with many sounds is a must if they all have individual samples. But thats opening up one too big construction site. I mean they just started the graphics evolution! Head on!
  8. @Doffeh: You are right. I thought about the same stuff as i am recording some sounds for Robomats lockpicking mod at the moment. I thought about eq'ing them to fit the current style. Which for me sounded like the grafics looked, charming and lowfi. It would be helpful if there was some sort of standard here. I think there are 3 factors: -Quality -Style -Size I think the biggest part is that the sounds fit into the universe. And the "universe" is a lowfi comiclike looking(no criticism here) simulation. So obviously bleeps and beeps are a deal breaker when it comes to immersion. Absolute hifi crisp sounds could work as i love crisp sounds but could be also a dealbreaker because of the audio/visual discrepancy. So my objective side wants some standardised filtered sounds that are like "smaller" version of the reality, a little less crisp a little bit filed off. My subjective side wants some very realistic sounds to make up for the graphics(i really like the graphics) to get more out of this oppressive atmosphere. I really am constantly on the edge while playing this game. And thinking about a very realistic sounddesign to support that feeling even more would be fantastic. To the size: i think the game should still be managable to be downloaded in a bearable time. So some almost lossless compressed 44.1k/16Bit sounds wouldnt go beyond the scope in my opinion. Additionally i love dynamic soundengines, but i think that is far off the radar right now. Ps.: My offer helping with sounds still stand Have a nice evening. Manuel
  9. Ok i have tested the new build: Smoother at the beginning, but 20 minutes in the performance got worse. Almost to the level of the Previous "other beta" build. And one Question: Is the Zoom gone? Thanks guys.
  10. No, I explicitly don't. Read the rest of the thread please... *sigh* So, you didn't read the second part of his post? Cool! "A "challenge" is subjective, determined by what someone sees as a challenge." and my addition to objectify: "and what challenges him" and to generalize: "leave space for failing". I think this is mere a relative discussion than an absolute. So keep it subjective.
  11. "In fact, I think you could (reasonably!) re-define "challenge" for GTA to have it. And I'd likely think that's a bad thing." Wow thats some destructive communication. So you offer him one way to go, then expect him to succeed and then subvert his argument. EDIT: Schopenhauer would be proud. Ah what the hell: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Art_of_Being_Right
  12. Defining challenge is no challenge. Edit: This was not meant as a challenge.
  13. Thank you sir for bringing us the ideas of making fire with a lighter or matches, and that paper would burn? Just kiddin Good Job.
  14. And additionally i smell the possibility for cars increase drastically.
  15. Congratulations, must be a good feeling. THE POSSIBILITIES! You deserve it.
  16. Not to sound greedy. Any changes to Fire(leave oven on) crash and zombie population? Thanks for the Update.
  17. The standard steam version didnt work for me. Black screen on save games. The beta activated version works great to the except for major fps drop and fire crash. I still never touched the desura build again. So from my perspective it would make sense (as it was before) to have one stable version and for the brave have the in progress updated version. And as steam provides the possibilty to choose from two versions this seems the way to go. Ps: i find it nice to have the newest version withought all the copying and folder managment.
  18. Yes but i only have a lockpicking set at the moment, which i, wait a minute... Sure for mods that i see help the game, and the modder is ambitious, im in.
  19. Hi guys, Plain and simple: I love Projekt Zomboid. To be able to support the game would be great. As i read that the whole Music Part of the game is already been taking care of, and i have a new toy in my repertoire, i want to offer to record sounds for the game. I carry my recording tool all day with me anyway, so it could be of additional use for this game. to my person: I study mechanincal engineering with the focus on acoustics. And and in my freetime (probably more time than my actual studies) i practise musicproduction and sound design for about 8 years now. So i could not only record the sounds but also process them so they fit the existing style of sounds in the game. Looking forward to hearing from you. Have a good night. Manuel. Ps.: I dont really know who i should adress directly so i just suggest it. And thanks for the great work so far. Edit: For free of course.
  20. did the game need them no....... did it make the game better(now that all shot zombies don't turn to crawlers) hell yes! It adds another level to survival. The tall grass is another thing you need to keep a eye on as well the furniture in houses. I cant count how many times i have meet my demise after a epic horde killing spree Cuz i didn't get that last shot in while they where down. Its something you have to get used to just another equation in the harsh life of the Zombie apocalypses. Totally agree i fell in love with a crawler that disappeared in high grass. I hope they are invisible behind low objects like beds too. Everything that adds diversity to danger sources. Love it.
  21. Robert Johnson, hats off to you, and the other Programmers. In my job i start to puke everytime i see some Red Line at the end of Running my Program. And how you must feel having problems rain on to you from everywhere. It must feel kinda like a Zombie Apocalypse in the world of Information Managment. Very nice work. Thanks.
