  1. Hey folks, As you might have seen a new tracker went live on the forums, something that was required as we moved over to IP Board 4.x. As with anything that's new, we inevitably run into bugs or usability problems, or even folks who think they might have some ideas for it. So I have decided to open up this thread in order to gather feedback/feature requests, pretty simple really. One thing I will say, is please keep in mind that I am rather busy in life, with University and trying to make money I can't dedicate a large swath of time to this, so try to keep extravagent features to a minimum. Please also keep the discussion to the tracker, if you have a general issue with the forums either take it to a thread about the forums or start a new thread. To see what bugs/features have been submitted please go here: http://status.terminal-control.com/tracker/live/
  2. I would suggest waiting until the work has been rolled into the theme, at the moment the changes haven't been merged yet. Hopefully the improvements there will help some people out in terms of how they feel towards the forum.
  3. I'll check on the follow content buttons, as for yes/no, those might make a return but not for some time yet.
  4. I'm pretty sure the part about them immediately going to the entry way (the door) is only true if they actually spot you from all the way inside the base. Same with the maze, in order for them to do what you're saying, they would have to spot you at the solution point of the maze. Which either makes it a very poor maze, or a see through maze that allows them to figure out point of entry anyway. "Currently, if player protects his base entry with a maze, zombies will immediately find a way through, which is not realistic at all." It's hard to argue realism in a zombie survival game, the way in which this would be poor AI, depends on the supposed intelligence levels of the zombies, which may not be the same as you see elsewhere. The AI is reasonable enough if you make the assumption that the zombies are intelligent enough to know that a wall is not a viable point of entry. I imagine in those cases, it's a genuine glitch rather than working as intended. Whether that be an issue with AI or map, but to replace an entire AI algorthim due to glitches seems to be using a shotgun for a scalpel job.
  5. Not sure, open link, copy the link (not from the comment box it will cause formatting issues) then repaste back into the comment box, after a few seconds it should convert it? It might be possible you have something blocking the magic AJAX stuff the forum does that converts it to video. Script blockers, or ad blockers might cause it?
  6. Posting the link should automatically convert it on post:
  7. No. Turning off firefox notifications basically prevents the site on giving you desktop notifications, when you recieve one of those forum notifications.
  8. I've made a tweak for avatars to see what it's looking like.
  9. edit: Goddamn I'm always beaten by a minute.
  10. Kirrus might have fixed it now, try again?
  11. Next time the error pops up, mind taking a screenshot and posting?
  12. Phone model and browser you are using to access forums?
  13. I'll take a look around in the settings and see what's up, but it might just be a design choice of the forum software to do it that way now.
  14. Looks like my privileges got elevated, so I have changed the setting so members can edit it. In any case, I have switched it so it comes into your notification list rather than email. Feel free to change that in your settings.
  15. I'll poke someone with higher privileges on the forums than me about this, see about getting it turning it off for you by us.
  16. This page: http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php?/notifications/options/ Will have what you're looking for I imagine.
  17. It was about the same. Moderation tools haven't changed really from the switch, just layout stuff. Also the theme stuff is being looked into a bit more, so it might change a bit soonish. Edit: Well actually a lot has changed, it's just moderator and user side is mainly the same with layout differences. All the cool stuff is hidden away
  18. It's worth keeping in mind that there are going to be tweaks to the forum for a little bit yet as we get all the settings to our likings. Edit: Merged the two sites topic together from PZ Discussions
  19. Wtf you talking about I hope you lose Just proving you're not a true German, you're just masquerading as one.
  20. Nasko, I think you meant Velcome, not welcome. Hallo Blindcoder, welcome to the club!
  21. I contacted the developers and they have assured me that they will be removing the icons in the next update, if this turns out to not be the case I would appreciate a heads up.
  22. Honestly, just hit the edit button on the wiki, and start editing! IIRC, Connall can correct me, there's an outdated content template you can prepend to the top of any outdated page. Yes, {{Notice|Outdated}} but seeing how it's community maintained, correcting pages is always appreciated.
  23. I second that question. Whenever it happens, it'd be great if it gets announced at least 3 days before the Big Wipe goes. That way all us Tracker regular can take our time to see which bug we bring along and which ones we don't. Plus, I don't think that ppl will stop posting stuff in the tracker yet, so there'll probably be quite a bit of fresh bugs by those last days. It'd also be a good idea if the staff took away the possibility to post new bugs when the time's at hand. We will be actively locking the tracker to stop new issues coming a few days before the push.
  24. I was originally building the tracker with the intention of supporting legacy issues and while the ability to port issues in the future wouldn't be theoretically impossible, the way the tracker was built came with a lot of redundant columns and fractured tables that were strictly not particularly necessary. Changes in way IP Board handles information and the way the application was built meant that bringing the reports over would require a large amount of work. Creating an application to support the legacy issues would have taken quite a bit more time and would have led to columns that were just strictly not necessary, creating a tool to convert everything would also be possible but take quite a bit of time as well. There's an interest in seeing the forum system updated as it brings along with it security patches that would be great to see. This also being the first time I have worked with IP Boards API and the rather radical overhaul it experienced from the older version, meant strictly porting the tracker wasn't particularly practical. If they haven't been addressed by a developer or a fix is underway, then yes. You should bring it over. If a fix has been commited or the issue has been closed, don't bring it over. Any dynamic information you see posted in the forums is stored in the database, the tracker included. Posts, updates, news, tracker issues etc are all information that gets stored and pulled from the database. Every application has a specific set of tables it uses to reference the information you see. There are forum tables, tracker tables and member tables. There's also stuff like setting tables etc that exist. You'll find that if there is dynamic information on the site then it's being stored as a record of some kind in a database.
  25. Hey folks, in regards to the tracker that we will be moving over to, I would just like to point out a couple of things. Since this was built from (relative) scratch, to be integrated into the forums some things you may have come to expect from the tracker and certain behavioural things will have changed. Most backend changes and issue management things will not be particularly apparent to yourselves so a lot of the "culture shock" you will experience will be minimal. That said, things like searching, filtering and other navigation items will be different or flat out missing. Issue listings will look much closer to the forum side of things than how the issues are currently layed out. I'll be working on implementing fixes and tweaks to design in the coming months to make it easier to navigate. Finally, should you come across an issue with the tracker then please, feel free to send me a PM here on the site so I can take a look as soon as possible. We haven't been able to conduct testing on a meaningful scale, so I have yet to see how it will act with everyone here. Hopefully it will run fine, but if not please let me know!
