  1. One of the bigger problems I've noticed is weight with the game, even though weight is reduced with certain items, that reduction goes away if it's unequiped or on the ground. I wonder if it's possible to make it so weight reduction is constant for example with the waggon with oxen. In multiplayer I saw someone essentially lose their character because they couldn't drop a wheelbarrow that was too heavy, because it had a pack dog in it that was over the 50 weight limit (due to organized trait) - couldn't be moved out of the wheelbarrow, and the wheelbarrow couldn't be dropped. On the other end of things, if you drop something that's too heavy to pick up like a wheelbarrow that has stuff in it, you won't be able to pick it back up. I suppose it's mostly due to how the vanilla game doesn't have a great weight system to support the new ways to carry items.
  2. It was recommended to me to post a bug report, so my issue is with the dogs Labrador as I can't attach bags to it, I was informed I should be able to. Also, had questions regarding sheet metal, I can't seem to get anything like a microwave for example from the small junkyard to get sheet metal. I'm attempting to make a steam machine to try to make it, but I don't see any recipes for sheet metal in any of the crafting menus (I read the book that allows me to build a steam machine, steam hammer, craft sheet metal)
  3. While attempting to burn some zombie hoards away, I found out quickly that zombies just wouldn't stop flooding in from surrounding areas. It was almost like a gravity well for zombies and it went on for hours (irl) of just continuously trying to clear away the zombies from an area we were trying to secure. Frankly it felt very overwhelming as it was just too constant to handle (probably burned enough zombies well into the 100's) These were shamblers as well so I can't imagine that they were able to travel so quickly from one area of the map to the next in such a short amount of time. In short, I think migration could be more spaced out in how often it occurs, again felt to constant.
  4. I got the hugest grin when I read that. As lame as it sounds, of everything else in this list of cool stuff, this by far made me so happy!
  5. First thing I would like to say, these new sounds are terrifying! It's a love/hate relationship right now, but I may adjust. However I did notice like a kind of feedback background noise from the game when playing. I don't really know what word I should use to label it or really describe it well. Just a constant noise, (like if someone had there microphone broadcasting without saying anything). Not sure if intentional or not, just thought I'd note it. Still pretty good build, though the switching back between using both hands and equipping onto primary with an inventory in the secondary is a little more work that I'd like, very tedious clicking. Still it's always nice to have new features!
  6. I don't think a screen shot would work for this bug, Sometimes for windows on the upper right side of a building (or northeastern), with an open window, trying to climb in results in my character teleporting inside the house, only to then climb through the window back outside where we started (very counter productive). Haven't tried with other saves yet, and the simple work around was using another window.
  7. Was the saved gaming loading onto blackscreen bug fixed? It wasn't mentioned above or in the mondoid. Edit: Seems fixed from what I can tell, or at least my old saves are again playable now (hooray!)
  8. Play the Steam Version. There should be fixed That was my mistake, I actually was playing through Steam. That is my fault for not including that in the post though. I had tried to re-install it too, and checked the beta settings. I may try going into the folders manually (tomorrow I'll try this, when I have my desktop).
  9. So is there any information on this bug? It would be nice to hear some feedback about it.
  10. I have the same issue with my saves. I must say its a pain not being able to run a proper game anymore. That moment when you notice an error in your post some 4 hours later.... tried with several* new games. Yeah every time I feel well off I can't continue at all, it's quite disheartening .
  11. Quick question, has loading a saved game resulting in not being able to see been fixed? The black screen, I tried with server new games with the steam version and every time I can't recover my game because los is not working. I just didn't see anything of it mentioned in the known issues or fixed issue list, but I know it's been a thing since reporting it last week and others having the same trouble from what I remember. And if not, could it be that I need to just reinstall the whole thing? It's getting to the point where I don't want to start a game because I know I can't continue playing once I quit. Edit: I feel dumb, I flipped through the few last pages and found some more details to my predicament, carry on. Edit 2: Solution suggestions did not solve my problems, unless my old saves are now just permanently screwed over from the bug, I haven't tried making a new game and or loading it, old saves los still persists. Edit 3: Tried starting a quick new game, issue persists. Whelp.
  12. So found a bug, apparently if you climb up a sheet rope, you fall and instantly die. Neat.
  13. I read some of the other posts about starting a save and then running into black screen, and I ran into this too, of course I have no clue what to do about this on my own. So like any reasonable person in this situation, I decided to mash buttons..., ahem, troubleshoot with player controls such as moving, or attempting to attack or use items in my inventory. Then I got down to the Use Key, and ended up with this. Suggestions? I was really hoping to continue that save too Windows 7, 6gb, 64 bit, AMD Athlon ™ II X4 620 processor 2.60 GHz, graphics is Nvidia GeForce 9100
  14. I think probably you're trying to climb through windows while in combat stance. That will crash the game every time, so try not to. I have the same issue - It DOES seem to be triggered more often when trying to climb through a window when holding right mouse (for combat stance), but I've also had it happen when I wasn't in combat stance. I just climb through and end up on the other side - frozen in place. Zombies don't seem to be able to attack me. They SEE me and run up to me, but can't damage me. ** EDIT ** I've had the freezing in place issue come up while doing other activities, but I'm sure it's because I need to right-click things to do them. IE; I right click on a window to get the menu to pop up (this puts me in a combat stance, even though I'm not holding it down). When I left click to put up a curtain, I freeze up. This doesn't happen every time, but has happened more than once. That sounds really dead on to what's happening, when I right click to climb through it happens, however I think my work around was to move my character (do a little shimmy and re positioning) then selecting the menu option to climb through. Thanks for confirming for me! Hope it gets fixed soon, it's a real bother. Also restarting seems to fix it more often when I encounter it, but I think my first save is screwed over since I somehow teleported up my sheet rope from the floor above me, perpetually standing in the air... Oh well.
  15. I've run into this bug twice now, just wanted to see if anyone is seeing this. Occasionally (and I do mean this isn't an every time thing) when attempting to climb through a window I opened, it will make my character freeze unable to move. I am still able to open and close the window (minus the animation to open it, or the time it takes typically from doing it from the outside). I can also access my inventory and equip/unequip, eat and drink everything else. I am running the game through steam (yay access keys!), this happened on two new games I started today, the first in survival and this second one in sandbox (because my god survival is ridiculously more scary!). I'm using Windows 7, 6gb, 64 bit, AMD Athlon II X4 620 processor 2.60 GHz, graphics is Nvidia GeForce 9100. Not sure what other info you need so yeah that's just a rough whatever. I don't know how to explain it really, so here's a screen shot. Anyone else having this bug? It's frustrating in that restarts don't fix it or anything, also the debug F11 thing doesn't do too much for me, or I'm just being dumb about it. EDIT: I did another restart (3rd restart) and I seemed to free myself, but now I'm terrified to attempt it again!)
  16. An excellent example, simple and I think deserves a spot on the list.
  17. Shopping List - Iced Tea Mostly similar to other drinks in the game, only requires a tea bag and sugar as an optional ingredient. Should give thirst, happiness, and possibly a small amount of hunger. (To be added to, your suggestion might be the first! Rathlord wins) Add your suggestions on the list!
  18. Purpose of Thread: This thread aims to be a collective area for suggestions for items that can be put into the latest builds of the game without majorly changing how the game works. After looking over the already in place suggestion topics, I found that the vast majority of ideas revolved around changing the game by adding animations and sometimes even complex game mechanics. It's easier to add items that already could work within the game's current mechanics rather than try to add entirely new ones; therefor, this is a collection of items that could be added quickly into the game without too much work but still adding to it. How to post: Reply to the topic with easy to implement suggestions, we'll discuss them collectively, and the best will go in the list of things the community wants to see added into the game as a reference for the developers. Follow the general forum posting guidelines and try to follow the general guideline below for readability: *Item *Short description of item, it’s uses, whether it’s craftable with other items or if it’s a multi-purpose tool. *Comments Try to limit the amount of items being suggested per post to make discussions more focused and easier to read. Be sensible when suggesting multiple items, in example these items are for a similar purpose. Get creative guys, have fun discussing ideas! Thread notes: This thread follows similar guidelines to other suggestion topics, be realistic and so forth. Special thanks to Rathlord for helping me in the creation of this thread, and I am looking for help in potentially managing this thread. If interested send me a private message.
  19. Maybe we should discuss some ideas to sort conversion so it doesn't clog up like you said, I already sometimes find that when looting the warehouse I need to adjust my container window to be longer so I can see all the crates icons. Maybe it would be nice to see some sort of blades or sub drop down menus (drop down menus similar to what we find when checking durability). Actually thinking on this now, when using the drop down menu to see all the items in a stack, could it be possible to have all of the containers contents displayed instead of just each individual item of the stack? So the bag instead of acting like just as a container, it would act as a stack of items. If you look at clothing for example, even though lots of clothing are different colors, they stack anyways and you can only pick and choose which color of that clothing you want by using the drop down item durability menu. I noticed in game with the carpentry skill books that once you start reading one of the books, and then put it back into the container you have the other same skill book in,we that these two same items are no longer stacked together because of their different item values (one of these things isn't like the other!). The reason I'm mention this is because there may be concern on having multiple same item containers also being stacked even if one of them has items in it already. I discovered this in the main inventory when sorting my bags, they stack even though they have different contents/weight/values as inventories, but they aren't treated as items that change item values like skill books. I think this might be achievable in this way making use of already in game mechanics. Thoughts? Ideas?
  20. I mean, I think trash is unavoidable in reality, it gets over complicated if every item has a specific use. It would make things more dynamic of course, but at best your pile of micro containers that have no use could be used for kindling or compost as Kajin points out.
  21. After a read through the common suggested, suggestion compilation, and after a forum search for this, I was surprised not see it. Let me know if this suggestion has been posted or exists, if not then here is the suggestion. I want to see a bit better organization with inventories with specific items. As an example, take for example nails, while it's not unheard of to find a few wayward nails laying around, in most (or expected) cases they will be found in a box in which they were sold in. Now there are a number of items in game that fall under this example such as teabags, matches, bandages/band-aids, and even foods such as eggs or peas (i.e. Egg carton, measure a cup of peas from the bag). The idea here is, I would like to see inventories insides of an inventory, say you open the box of nails that's inside the draw and take out how so many nails you need. I understand that there will be a lot of inventory changes to expect as the game progresses, but I didn't see any suggestions for it, and even though it's a small change, it could be extremely useful for organization, carry weight management, and could open way for unconventional uses such as hiding certain items in unexpected places (i.e. ammo in the carton of cigarettes). Just overall make things more sensible than shoving a pile of 400 or so nails into a crate along with everything else in there.
  22. It might be nice to add a feature in carpentry to dig, and create your own basement or storage cellar too.
  23. When playing earlier, I made my way to the cabin in the eastern woods in game thinking because of it's source of water, I could grow crops and survive better despite being much further away from places to loot food. However I soon discovered after digging up some spots to plant seeds, that there was tall grass and other natural textures blocking my view of some of my dug up area, which became extremely bothersome when trying to right click to plant and tend to my crops. This also is a bit annoying for item picks up, such as collecting logs when chopping wood. I also noticed that if I build a wooden floor, it too is covered up by the overgrown plant life, this is also bit annoying. Is there a planned, or can it be possible new feature to make use of a current or new tool to remove the grass? I noticed there is a spade in game, not sure if it's used for anything beyond as a weapon, but perhaps that could be a candidate? Not sure how a lawn mower would work, especially trying to put it in your bag, but maybe a pair of hedge cutters or a sickle. Maybe another multipurpose tool such as a machete might make a good amount of sense. Just a small bothersome thing I've been noticing, besides the cut grass could have uses such as for example kindling, rope crafting, precaution against brush fires, etc. Thoughts?
