  1. Greetings Slendy, allow me to bring you some good news: SERVER IS LIVE !!!!! Build 28, Fresh Map! There's loot to be claimed, and even more zombies to be killed~ So, get in-game! We hope it'll be worth the wait (Sorry about that.) Characters + their inventories seem to have stayed intact, so a bit of a consolation to our veterans I suppose. IP: theundertaking(dot)pwnz(dot)org Port: 16361 Username: what you were whitelisted as Password: password, by default We will try to get to all white-listings now, however if for any reason you can't connect or get "account doesn't exist" resubmit an application, and mention your prior info or even better include a link to your last application: http://theundertakingorigins.enjin.com/recruitment Here's hoping for a successful re-launch, have fun every1.
  2. We're making this website our main page for information: theundertakingorigins.enjin.com ^ Server Status will be updated there Recruitment Applications can made at the link below: theundertakingorigins.enjin.com/recruitment
  3. Yeah, 2 of the 3 listed have been inactive since the launch of the new server. Some new Faction Leaders are making applications atm. We're shifting the staff around a bit, and have yet to update some original posts. The NE edge of Muldraugh is still the location of the Mercenary/Trader Faction, however. The Walk is also getting off to a nice start, over in West Point.
  4. HORDES ARE COMING! Prepare your bases and check your ammo supplies because hordes are coming! On Saturday September 13th, the hordes from Louisville will finally reach Muldraugh. Can you survive the horde? Event date and time: 9/13/14 at 3pm EST (7pm GMT) ~~~To join the Server~~~ http://theundertakingorigins.enjin.com/recruitment
  5. Syrion, are you still having trouble...? I white-listed you as requested. Let me know if you were able to log on.
  6. When you fill out the application form, just answer the points we ask for there: http://theundertakingorigins.enjin.com/recruitment We need your character info, his RP story and your RPing background/prior experience + your timezone. At the moment, we don't need to collect your Steam names, tho we likely will in the future. Here is our steam group, btw: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/theundertaking
  7. We're open to white-list, people! Please fill out the form here, it will be our main website: http://theundertakingorigins.enjin.com/recruitment
  8. ^ Interesting. Will have to get back to you in the morning. & TYvm, Connall.
  9. @Revixy Deadend will assign proper status updates to those serving as Admins or Mods as soon as possible @Our Donators A link where you may donate will be provided as soon as we can present you with what we have found as the best potential service-provider for the new server Incidentally, since our members seem to be 50/50 in terms of US and EU, ultimately the ping situation will turn out to be more fair than if 80 or 90% of us were in one region and the majority would have to experience higher pings. So again, we'll just be focusing on going with the best and most reliable service-provider for the new server. Stay tuned~
  10. Very much so, the server we had running would haveten crash at only 3 people online. And Deadend is returning to college, so he can't be there to restart it manually whenever it's needed. For both reasons, we very much needed to look into service providers. The debate is going on for awhile now, though we just want to make the best choice, have been looking into it from multiple angles. Ping is unfortunately very much a technical issue that we have yet to resolve as a whole on the internet. Data doesn't quite travel at lightspeed, plus people can only afford certain types of internet, so distance lag and other causes of higher ping are prevalent more or less for everyone. Ping is the last thing that governs a good experience on a server though, honestly, so we want to make sure that nothing else would be causing issues in-game.
  11. I was able to connect today, with about a 10 minute conversion of files before logging on. I was unfortunate enough to have d/cd from the server yday nearby zombies. Their positions seemed to differ from what was shown on my client and I gained a death. However, upon going back to the area, the same thing occured on the new character, twice. The radio seems to be either un-activated, or there's a gap of information between the client and server, for myself atleast. Items seemed to leave character inventory and re-appear "miles" away in the same spot, and char corpses were bugged out. There were 10 people online again and they all seemed to disperse within 30 minutes, dunno if they experienced the same, I saw no radio messages from them either.
  12. We'd like to ask everyone to add their vote on the new poll at the top of the page. If you have already voted on the 1st poll about donations, click "Delete my vote" and you will be able to resubmit your vote on the 1st poll plus enter your vote for the new poll. We'd assume that most of our players live in the US, though we need to be sure.
  13. I was online with about 10 other people, then I got kicked with a message saying that I had 400 ping. The server's been hanging on "connecting" ever since. EDIT: The server is working again.
  14. I did notice you answer yes to the poll. All the positive feedback we're getting is really appreciated.
  15. Not to worry, we're never "charging" for a spot in the server. Currently we're garnering support for more player slots and a genuinely stable experience for all. Those able and willing, are backing us in getting started back up again. If and when the need arises to expand further, the solution will be found. Donator privileges, with fairness in mind, are still up for debate moving forward.
  16. Agreed, that would be ideal. Will see to it, once it's made that'll be our go-to for updates, I do believe. For right now, mainly all the information is gathered here and simply forwarded to the steam topic. Again, thanks every1 for sticking by us with all the support, and to Connall for looking out for us. We should be seeing progress in no time (Soon)~
  17. We've been looking into possible solutions server-wise. The current setup is guaranteed to crash, with no way to restart it in a timely manner. For that, we must apologize, though we're definitely close to moving onto the next stage. You may expect Deadend to provide links for fundraising either later on today, or tomorrow morning. Updates will of course be posted here and on the steam page: http://steamcommunity.com/app/108600/discussions/5/34095684462517011#p3
  18. So this is how the server was started. Mind = blown
  19. I'm just going to assume that you were on-time with when we closed our gates (last night), PM your desired account info to me as well please. The server is down, however, with no eta yet. Likewise, we cannot approve further white list requests temporarily.
  20. I understand the current situation, though I must agree with Liva: I planned to reside in the warehouse @ the NE edge of Muld and there were 200-300 zombies surrounding from all sides. That would take at least 10 shotgun boxes to deal with. So, the sheer number is un-"realistic" as is the effort needed. Even if the initial struggle to claim the property is deemed as fun, if those zombies were to respawn in the immediate area, it would prevent that site from being a valid spot for RPing. And for the maintenance to be the same ammount as the purchase of the property (in blood) that's overly expensive real estate. PvPers want PvP, and since you can outrun a horde, "Insane" zombie pop is not needed for them. RPers want to take a breather and hold a conversation, so tedious ammounts of zombies doesn't help them. Lastly there's PvEers... may appreciate the "challenge" but the charm wears off if a player kills too many hordes out of necessity and gets bored. Not to mention, I've been to servers with "Beastly" specs and they "suscept" themselves to lag for the sake of "Insane" zombie pop. So yes, zombie respawning needs some work, but at least for now I would refrain from "Insane" zombie pop on any server due to ^. P.S. Still wondering where most players reside in, Muld or WP? ;o
  21. "Paid subscriber" options (if people actually are interested in that route) with models seen in the past could be: 1) Reserved slots, which most likely doesn't work for a game like this, especially for RPers 2) Subscriber benefits of some sort, like being guaranteed a spot during a server event (similar to above) ^This would actually give incentive to donate/subscribe while keeping the advantages fair for those who don't 3) The option to do some "work" for the server and earn a white-listing that way: such as maintaining the website, etc. Going by the plan that Strang mentioned, I believe he meant that for month 2 people could subscribe in advance for their slot on month 3, during which only paid-members would be white-listed and have access to the server Also borrowing from Goose, a 40 member threshold might be a good number for the server to have a rather constant 24 players connected, assuming that every1's time zones don't conflict. & I'm not entirely sure if the 3 month plan is what we should go with just yet, but we would indeed have this week to plan and carry it out, in order to have the server ready for "Month 1" in September. Since it's back to school season, it may be great timing to find just enough members the server can handle for starters. @Connall, Would you or your contacts know the possibility of having a truly stable 64 person server: if it's technically feasible at this stage of the game? (EnigmaGrey mentioned the TIS server once supporting 32 members smoothly, but even that seems hard to believe from prior experience @ servers) Assuming that people would indeed pay 3 or even 5 dollars per month, with 64 or more paying members, would that be enough to fund such a large server? Because if it were, then no doubt I believe any1 would find it well worth the money.
