  1. I will get straight to the point. For me, the biggest problem with the dificulty right now is the fact, that the game rarely tries to actively hurt you. You get some quite dangerous events at the begining of the game, like the helicopter. However, there are no such events in the late game. True, you get the ocasional dog barking or someone screaming / shooting, but nothing as dangerous as the helicopter. And even if you set the helicopter event to hapen more than once, it still won't attract any zombies if you are at the "wrong" place. Another problem. Living in the wildernes is really boring and pretty easy. Food is easy to farm, building resourcess are everywhere and most importantly, zombies never come after you. In my latest game, I went to the top of the map (small settlement with two houses, gunshop and gas station) and I spent like a ingame month there. No zombies. Not even when I arived (this is most likely a bug). The game becomes very easy if you know what you are doing and there are no suprises. These ideas could fix that. Atleast a bit. 1.) Spawning zombies towards player location Simple. If player spends like five days without leaving his home location, spawn small number of zombies heading to this location. They will not know the player is there, but they will most likely start bumping into obstacles causing damage. This will not only force players to never let their guard down, but will also make forest forts usefull since now zombies will actualy attack you on their own. The number of attacking zombies should increase with time. Moving around the map should reset this timer since moving around is usualy dangerous in it self. Could be implemented into the base game or as a sandbox option. 2.) Zombies getting stronger with time This could make for a perfect sandbox option. Right now, you can set zombies to get weaker as the time goes on. But I think making them stronger and faster would make more sence from the gameplay perspective. At the beginning of the game, zombies will shamble as die easily. As the time passes, they will become faster and stronger. At first, you will see one or two zombies shambling faster / taking more hits. Weeks later, you might come across a two to five sprinting zombies. Months later, 50% of all zombies will sprint and take a more damage to kill. With the option n1, this could make long term survival much harder and engaging since now you will have to do more than just eat, water crops, refil generator, build something and sleep. I don't think these are imposibly hard or time consuming features to implement. What do you guys think?
  2. Because swords are arguably the best melee weapon you can posibly get. Seriously. Every other melee weapons has some kind of bigger disadvantage. Spears are hard to use againts zombies since you have to hit it in the head, which is actualy not that easy. Blunt weapons require high strength to be used effectively and so do axes. Swords can do everything those weapons can. Swords are worse at some things (spears are longer, hammers and axes are heavier so they can do more damage) but versatility is the most important thing you want from your weapon in the zombie apocalypse. With sword, you can stab, slash and even use the crossguard or pomel as a blundgeon. Forging a sword is not hard (forging a really good one is and even a bad sword is still a sharp piece of metal made from better steel than what people in medieval ages used). If you know how to make a knife , then you know how to make a sword.
  3. I still think there should be more smithing tiers. First one should bethe "weld everything together" tier. Something every player will be able to do with minimal knowledge. Rebar spears, shivs, crude baricades, furniture and so on. Second tire, the ordinary blacksmithing that is going to be in the game, should be available only to people with correct profession. Item in this tier should be harder to make (you have to smelt metal to make ingots first) but the end product will be much better that the welded alternative. Also. Will we finally be able to import our own 3D models into the game without using some thirdparty mod?
  4. Are you planning on adding more "improvised" weapons and tools? I really like that fact that you can make stone axes and hammers. Being able to make slightly better variations from scrap metal if your smithing skill is low will make smithing more useful for players with less skill points in it. Being able to make simple saws that can break, one - two use sledge hammers and even some homemade weapons like kitchen knife + broom handle spears, sharpened pieces of metal serving as knives / machetes / swords and maybe even simple one shot rifles would make things more interesting and it would partialy solve problems with the lack of saws / sledge hammers in multiplayer.
  5. You could move furniture around in earlier builds, but honestly, it was pretty useles. Except fo those bins. These things made woodcutting a dream. Personaly, I would like the most if you could move furniture like you can move tent/fireplace. Right click, put it in your inventory, go where you want, right click the ground, put chair/table/whatever down, select the exact location and orientation for your furniture and done.
  6. I came up with some ideas for chalenges. These use things already in the game, so it should be possible to make them come true.. 1.) Evolving zombies: The longer you play, the stronger the zombies get. They will be faster, more resilient and will learn how to open doors and windows. At the start, you will be fighting against the weakest zombies possible in sandbox. After two weeks, you will be fighting against sprinting zombies that can hear and see you from mile away. 2.) B(ad)-virus: You have been infected with different strain of the zombie virus (You can still be infected by ordinary zombie and die). This virus gives you one random bad trait everytime you sleep. Surviving will be much harder after some time. 3.)Flaming undead: Zombies now catch on fire when they die. Killing them near your safehouse will be really bad idea. 4.)Nightcrawlers: Zombies are slow and weak at day, but get strong and fast at night. 5.)On the run: Huge horde of slow zombies will spawn on the edge of the map. They know exactly where you are and will folow you until they catch you and kill you. Distracting them with gunshots will not work this time. These are all the ideas I have for now. Do not pay atention to those names. I was never good at naming things.
  7. Exactly. I looked at at the way cannig works in the game right now. I could easily copy it and it will (hopefuly) work without problem. Anyway, I found a little problem while trying to make kitchenware box. Recipes dont alow you to make multiple results. Yes, you can bypas it by making separate function, but I hope devs change this in the future, since this is much more complicated than it needs to be. So, here is finished kitchenware box. You get all those items + empty cardboard box. It has low weight reduction, but really large capacity. Usefull for storing items. Right now, Im trying to fix that meat package and then I will start adding other food packages.
  8. Hydromancerx: No problem. You can use it in your mod after I finish it. Just put my name on your mod page + the mod itself. That is all I ask for. Anyway, I was diging through the original game files I think I know how to make the packaged food spoil slower and then faster once the package is opened. Also, I have another questin. I was thinking about adding "postal packages" into game. These will basicaly be packages that can be found in post offices and in mail boxes (If devs make them lootable) These packages will contain random items. Things like CDs, photos, electronics, books and other "useless" things. But you can also find things like small weapons, amunition, tools, nails and so on. The problem is, I am not sure if such thing is possible. I could try making multiple packages with same icon and name and make them have preset items that player can get out of them. Simple, but time consuming. What I would rather do, is make the game roll and choose random item. I did not try it yet, since I want to do more important packages first, but is this possible?
  9. Hi. This is my first mod. Simply put, It will add much more packaged items. Things like watter four packs, sealed strawberies and so on. Sealed/packaged items will have multiple advantages over the basic items. For example, packaged water weights slightly less then four separate bottles, packaged meat will spoil slower than raw meat. The thing is, once you open the package, you cant seal the item again. this should add another layer of strategy to the game. I already made three packages.Water four pack, pop six pack and soda four pack. I have ideas for many other packages, like sealed meat/vegetable, potato/onion sacks, kitchen ware (pot, 2 frying pans, roasting pan, baking pan and kettle) Knife set, and so on. These are all things that I am capable of doing. But there are few things I still have no idea how to do. For example, how to make sealed food spoil slower while packaged and how to set its freshnes to the level while it was packaged? Also, I am thinking of adding toolbox, that will contain random tools and can be used as a bag (just like first aid kid). How can I do it? That is all for now. Also, if you have ideas for packages, write them here.
  10. Water collector isnt showing in the build menu. I have all the resources and suficient carpentry level, but nothing shows up.
