map creation + adding building + generate lots

Recommended Posts

After three days of trying and crying to test my building, I'm failing to create a 1x1 cell map, drag my building onto it and generate lots.

I've read Thuztor's and Suimoboi's guides, they're great written and easy to understand. Maybe too easy, I miss something important :( .

Step by step:

Open Gimp

New... 300x300px

Create color R120,G120,B120

Fill

Export... test.png

Create color R0,G255,B0

Fill

Export... test_veg.png

New... 30x30px

Create color R0,G0,B0

Fill

Export... test_ZSM.png

Close Gimp

Open PZWorldEd

New... 1x1 cell

Dragging test.png

Open Cell (but it's empty even with suimoboi's "MyfirstPNG.png"?)

Dragging building.tbx in cell

Save world

BMP to TMX works -> test_0_0.tmx but the building isn't there

Generate Lots... -> no lots created

Help?! :(

Mhh...

I'm not sure if it's good, if you put a building on the png map and then you start the BMP to TMX.

First you have to convert your PNG to TMX (call it so) and then you have to place you building and generate the lots.

If it doesn't help, I'm not quite sure what the problem is, right now.

  • 1 month later...

Hi, after a few days fiddling with a server and playing online with some friends, now i´m testing the map tools to make one full map, but i'm kinda stuck at the same point as Sieben.

I have my BMP/PNG map in WorldEd, put a couple of buildings and then used the BMP to TMX.

Then maked a new empty map, and when i try to drag the TMX files i have, called "Map_#_#.TMX" nothing happened.

If i try to put the TMX files in Tiled, they appear empty.

Any advice please?

Thanks :D

Edit:

Found my error!, I Didn't put the Map.pzw in the Tiled folder options.
