wonderlesswonder
Im gonna make a remake of the Dawn of the Dead(2004) mall with everything included, from that zombie in the closet of that store too the security room. But i got a question does anyone think its possible to make a working elevator? Im just learning to make maps also so if anyone knows any good or helpful guides it would be great if i could get a point in the right direction, im just reading the tileZed manual for now. I cant find any good blueprints or pictures of the building either because they ended up demolishing it a little while after the movie so im gonna just go and step through the movie and draw up some blueprints for it so i can transfer it and make up all the floor plans on tileZed. One more question also, i can make basements right? I feel like that shouldnt be a problem but ive never seen any in-game so i have no idea. Kyun
Not sure about the basement thingy, even with the tools I'm not sure you can be underground. For the elevator, you "may" be able to use some kind of action that would change player Z coordinate slowly, along with the sprite of the elevator object ? I have no idea if this is possible, but since you could push wheeling bins, it may be possible to push it vertically. I would love to be stuck in an elevator when electricity runs out I'd starve to death - or maybe water would be a problem ? wonderlesswonder
RoboMat
Basements aren't a thing atm, sorry. About the elevator you might want to look at how the stairs-code is done. Not sure how much of it can be done on the lua side though. What should be possible is to make a teleporting elevator, in which you step in and then get teleported to a higher level... ApolloDiaspora
Just have all the elevators unworkable via a lack of power, or being damaged/blocked in some way. Seeing as we're only talking about a few stories (four at the max?) I could see open elevator shafts being quite an asset. Build a window frame up against the gap, and drop a sheet rope down. Boom. Zombie proof. Provided you can destroy the stairs and escalators of course. Work around the current engine limitations to get the same gameplay effect in otherwords. But yea i kinda thought that ahhhh thats too bad i would have loved to recreate the whole underground parking lot thing and make it all scary as shit! im probably gonna make this bigger than just the mall too though like im thinking of putting the little graffiti covered tunnel where its supposed to go and also Andys gunshop and other nearby stores. hmm yea i can see what you mean i just probably put some rain barrels in some storage area and you could go up on the roof and set up them up! Also i kinda wanna progress towards making this into an rp, it would work just withought the couple in the movie and you start out where she crashes and the cop comes up her and then you progress through the story.Basements aren't a thing atm, sorry. A thing on making a basement i have an idea which idk might work but you tell me if you think it will. What it i use 0_Floor as the lowest level of the basement then work up the floors however many floors it is until it reaches the real floor then just use a brush and put the ground there or is 0_Vegetation stuck to 0_Floor? RoboMat
I'm not sure if zombie spawns etc. would work if you shifted up the whole map.

Hmm im going to have a workable elevator until the electricity runs out then if you plan on getting access to different floor through the elevator shaft you have too use the sheet ropes and perhaps i could make a mod too where you have too have the right amount of sheets to craft to go down however many floors you want to go, ive never used the sheet rope too be honest yet how many floors down does it even go? hmmm any ideas on how i should go about making stairs/elevators that you can either blockade or destroy? Or just like ideas on what it should be?
wonderlesswonder
Oooooohhhh does anyone know if it would be possible to import a zombie baby sprite?
Kyun
Sure there's a lot of mods with custom sprites. The question is more : can you change the sprite of a zombie ? I don't know, maybe, probably. If you can't, maybe with the NPC mod, you'll be able to do it (a NPC with a zed sprite and a zed job script), probably, in the future. That's a lot of probably ^^

wonderlesswonder
hopefully soon you will show us pics of your process if you don't mind....Great idea fits with project zomboid perfectlysure thing! ive just started drawing up blueprints of each scene in the movie, but i must say its a pain in the ass trying to piece together the architecture when the cameras focused on the characters hahah. Gotta love that movie though, but i have alot of rooms on separate pages so im gonna end up taking all the pages, then scan them all, then put all the pieces together too make the whole mall. Lemme know what you wanna see though i can show you some of the drawings or just the end product in a complete pic!
