Idea: Nature's Reclamation

I've suggested this idea on forums of other games like 7 Days To Die and The Dead Linger, and some people seem to like the idea.

 

This idea may or may not have been suggested already on this forum. If it has, my bad.

 

Anyway, here's the idea:

 

Let's say you've survived for so long that you've already pushed yourself into the years. What if you could actually see the signs of years gone by?

 

Imagine after several years of surviving in the remnants of society, you begin to see weeds and patches of grass growing throughout the roads and sidewalks throughout Knox County.

 

Grass covers the streets, vines grow up buildings, windows shatter after years of battering abuse, vines begin to cover abandoned vehicles.

 

Buildings show signs of decay and years without repair. Weaker buildings collapse after years of decay. Vehicles rust and become eventually useless.

 

Bodies of zombies you've killed decompose into nothing but skeletons with ragged clothing. 

 

This would be a great way to depict the breakdown of what we've built after so long. If people manage to survive all the way into the years, it should show in the streets.

There's a mod that does this, and Lemmy says in the same thread this is something they'd like to do.

Man, I honestly love this idea. And maybe the skeletons could be looted for bones? The bones could be used for tools and weapons...

There is no way you would be able to survive long enough to see that. Overgrown grass and vines on walls? Maybe. But thats 10 years+ of corrosion in your pictures. 

 

Theres a mod for it anyway. Can't see this thread going any further. Rathlord?
