Not optimum mode?

Okay, so I launched Project zomboid  a couple days ago and the screen turns black and there is a floating window that says "Not optimum mode" and but I can hear the menu music but I cannot do anything but turn of my Computer.

I have had this happen before and with a different game but I couldn't do anything and needed to replace my graphics card to fix it, I have been playing this game for years now, so it seems strange that all of the sudden something like this would happen.

Apparently this is a problem with your monitor not supporting the game's resolution, for whatever reason. Try playing it in windowed mode or at a smaller resolution. You can make your changes to %username%\zomboid\options.ini prior to launching the game.
